Reinforcements Arrive
Facing countless flying swords, Ji Rufeng's face was terribly gloomy. The bronze mirror automatically blocked the flying swords, while he looked coldly at Shen Ge, who was rushing back at top speed.
"Just a trivial skill."
He raised his hand and took out a talisman that shimmered with silver light. He struck the talisman against the edge of the formation, and the formation was immediately corroded, creating a small hole. He then transformed into a Qingfeng and slipped out.
Shen Ge's expression darkened, and he unleashed a pure black sword light that shot straight towards Ji Rufeng, shouting at the same time, "Imprisonment!"
Ji Rufeng paused, but he didn't panic. After all, he was protected by the bronze mirror and couldn't possibly get hurt.
Although the bronze mirror looked old and worn, its defensive capabilities were truly extraordinary; Shen Ge's sword strike couldn't even penetrate that protective shield.
"It's no use. This bronze mirror was made in imitation of our Ji Household's ancestral artifact. With him here, you can't possibly kill me." After regaining his mobility, Ji Rufeng retreated while mocking.
Shen Ge stopped his pursuit and stared coldly at the bronze mirror above Ji Rufeng's head. After a long silence, he raised his hand and retrieved the array flags and array plates he had set up earlier.
"What, trying to run away again?" Ji Rufeng's fingertips danced in the Qingfeng as she smiled faintly, "Do you think you can leave?"
The Qingfeng at Ji Rufeng's fingertips shattered, replaced by a sword—a slender sword that emitted gusts of wind.
"I admit you're quite strong, not at all like Rogue Cultivator, but so what? You're going to die today."
After saying that, Ji Rufeng raised his hand and waved his long sword, unleashing a series of wind blades that shot towards Shen Ge. The power of these wind blades far exceeded the ones he had created before.
As Shen Ge dodged, she glanced at Ji Rufeng, a half-smile playing on her lips, "You're here for that painting, aren't you? It seems you, a member of the Ji Household, still have some things you haven't revealed."
Ji Rufeng's expression changed, and he quickly probed his surroundings with his Divine Sense. Only after finding no one else did he realize that he had been tricked. Just as he was about to continue his attack, a black and white sword light struck.
Damn it!
Ji Rufeng cursed and quickly manipulated the bronze mirror to shield himself.
"Bang!"
A violent explosion rang out, and a large crater appeared in the sea below, as if a boulder had struck it.
This time, Shen Ge didn't give Ji Rufeng a chance to create distance. As soon as the explosion rang out, he rushed forward. With a wave of his hand, a huge Yin-Yang Diagram appeared above Ji Rufeng's head.
The interplay of Yin and Yang pressed down like a giant millstone, while at the same time, an inexplicable force restricted Ji Rufeng's movements.
Seeing that things were going badly, Ji Rufeng quickly channeled all his spiritual power into the bronze mirror. At the same time, a strong gust of wind erupted from his body and spread outwards to guard against Shen Ge's sneak attack.
But Shen Ge had finally seized this opportunity, so how could he let it go? He directly spread his Sword Yi and activated the Golden Body Incantation to force his way into the gale.
Even with these two layers of defense Shen Ge was still scratched by the dense gale, and strands of golden blood slowly dripped down his body.
Ji Rufeng had no time to pay attention to Shen Ge who was approaching. He looked up at the Yin-Yang Diagram pressing down on him, his eyes bloodshot with rage. He pushed upwards with both hands and shouted, "Break!"
Unfortunately, although the Yin-Yang Diagram was pushed back slightly by the bronze mirror, it was by no means easy for that person to break through. Instead, the Samsara energy that rotated like a millstone ground down the protective shield created by the bronze mirror, causing it to rattle and teeter on the verge of collapse.
Suddenly, Ji Rufeng jerked his head to the side, and a sword appeared where his head had just been. He glanced at the gleaming blade so close to his eyes, then jerked his waist back.
The sword grazed his face, severing a few strands of his purple hair.
Shen Ge glanced at him expressionlessly, then struck Ji Rufeng in the abdomen with his palm. At the same time, the Sword Yi behind him transformed into a guillotine and slashed down from above.
Ji Rufeng's expression hardened, and he immediately dispersed the spiritual energy output of the bronze mirror, while simultaneously using his sword to block Shen Ge's Sword Yi.
Without the bronze mirror's protection, the Yin-Yang Diagram fell rapidly, and the swirling Yin-Yang energy distorted the surrounding space.
However, Shen Ge was unaffected, while Ji Rufeng, pressed down by this aura, had his chest cave in and spat out a mouthful of purple blood.
He stared in horror at the Yin-Yang Diagram above his head; how could its power be so strong!
Just then, a sigh suddenly came from afar, "Alas!"
Then a deep blue sword light flew from the horizon and arrived in the blink of an eye, striking the Yin-Yang Diagram. The two sides were deadlocked, and then several more sword lights came to support, finally splitting the Yin-Yang Diagram in two.
As soon as the sigh sounded, Shen Ge swiftly made his move to kill Ji Rufeng. Unfortunately, Ji Rufeng still possessed some strength, and he managed to withstand a series of attacks from Shen Ge. Although severely injured and on the verge of death, he did not die.
A sword light flashed, forcing Shen Ge to retreat. After creating distance, Shen Ge looked at the old man disappearing into the air with each step, frowning as he asked, "People from the Tianquan Sect?"
"Indeed." The old man walked to Ji Rufeng's side, looking at Shen Ge with a kind expression, but the serrated sword in his hand made his kind expression look so fake.
"Fellow Daoist, please take out the painting, and then you can leave."
Upon hearing this, Ji Rufeng immediately looked at the old man beside him with a gloomy expression and said, "Liu Sheng, if you want to know about that painting, kill him. Otherwise, I won't say a word!"
"I almost died here, he has to die!"
The old man named Liu Sheng turned to look at Ji Rufeng, his eyes filled with disdain. He chuckled twice and nodded, saying, "Alright, as you wish."
As soon as he finished speaking, a water dragon rose from the sea beneath Shen Ge's feet, carrying a surging murderous aura.
Shen Ge took a step back, and the dragon flew past him. His calm gaze, passing through the dragon's body, quietly watched the old man and the young man opposite him.
Liu Sheng chuckled lightly, looked at Shen Ge, and nodded, saying, "You're quite interesting; worth my time to play with."
Then, he raised his hand and pointed, and the water dragon seemed to be given a soul, unleashing a variety of ferocious and exquisite attacks.
After dodging several times with ease, Shen Ge folded his Sword Yi behind him, cleaving the water dragon into several pieces like a guillotine.
"Old man, you're too old to be reckless. You don't have many years left to live, so go back to your old age." Shen Ge sneered, flapped his Sword Yi, and his entire body transformed into a blur as he charged towards him.
Upon hearing this, Liu Sheng's face darkened immediately. Yes, he was old and nearing death, but he couldn't stand hearing others say that.
"Very well, fellow Daoist, I'd like to see if you can chew up my old bones!"
