Xue Zhen
Unaware of what had happened, Su Ziyang devoured three jin of mutton, let out a burp, and leaned back in his chair, sipping tea.
"It's so good to be young!"
Watching Su Ziyang eat with such gusto, Daoist Jin and Mr. Mengfei sighed in admiration.
"Have some vegetables, Xiao Su," Daoist Jin, gesturing for Su Ziyang to eat some chrysanthemum greens.
"I'm not eating anymore, Master. I'm full." Su Ziyang rubbed his stomach, chuckled, and was no longer annoyed at being tricked earlier.
After the three of them had eaten and drunk their fill, Su Ziyang returned to his residence, while Mr. Mengfei and Daoist Jin had other business to attend to and drove away.
After returning home, Su Ziyang went about his usual routine of washing up, practicing his exercises, and reading.
The next morning, just as Su Ziyang was about to leave, he received a call from Mr. Mengfei, who asked Su Ziyang to go directly to the Daoist temple to discuss something.
When Su Ziyang arrived at the Daoist temple's guest room, he saw Mr. Mengfei and Daoist Master Xiao sitting on the sofa talking.
"Daoist Master Xiao, Master." Su Ziyang greeted the two of them and then sat down to the side.
"You're here!" Daoist Master Xiao chuckled at Su Ziyang. "Mengfei just told me you were going out with him to treat patients, so I've decided to give you a long leave, but there will be no salary."
Before Su Ziyang could speak, Mr. Mengfei interjected, "Alright, alright. Daoist Master Xiao, thank you then. I mainly wanted to take Xiao Su out for a look around."
"Alright, alright, let's not say any more. If you're asking for someone, I certainly won't stop you. Go if you want to. I'm still waiting for you to train a great talent for my Daoist Medicine Clinic." Old Daoist Master Xiao politely clasped his hands in a fist salute to Mr. Mengfei.
"Haha, you flatter me." Mr. Mengfei also clasped his hands in a fist salute to Old Daoist Master Xiao. "Then I won't stay any longer. Lives are at stake, it's extremely urgent!"
"Alright, alright, go ahead!" Daoist Master Xiao didn't linger and saw the master and disciple to the door.
"Master, you just granted me leave like this?" Su Ziyang followed behind Mr. Mengfei in surprise.
"Okay. Don't worry about it. When you come back, it definitely won't interfere with your normal work!" Mr. Mengfei reassured Su Ziyang.
"Oh!"
As Mr. Mengfei walked, he took out his phone and dialed a number. "Hello. Is this Xue Zhen?"
"Yes, that's me. And who are you?"
A soft male voice came from the phone.
"Ah, it was Daoist Master Xiao introduced you to me. I am Mengfei." Mr. Mengfei introduced himself very politely.
"Oh, I know. Daoist Master Xiao called me this morning about going out with you, right?" Xue Zhen said on the phone.
"Yes, yes, yes. May I ask if I'm here to see you?" Mr. Mengfei's excessive politeness surprised Su Ziyang. He really didn't know what his master needed from the other party to be so courteous.
"I'm out of town right now, not at home. Give me an address, and I'll come over there. Let's talk in person, okay?"
Xue Zhen said.
"Okay. I'll text it over in a bit. It would be best if you could come over tomorrow, is that alright?"
"Mr. Mengfei asked."
"Okay. I'll contact you when I arrive."
Without waiting for Mr. Mengfei to speak again, Xue Zhen hung up the phone.
"Master, who is it? Why are you being so polite to him?" Su Ziyang asked, standing next to Mr. Mengfei.
"I was looking for a helper to treat my illness, and I originally wanted to ask Old Xiao to come with me, but Old Xiao didn't want to go. Instead, he introduced me to a young man with extraordinary abilities. When asking someone for a favor, it's best to be polite!"
Mr. Mengfei hurriedly explained to Su Ziyang as he walked.
"What doctor are we going to see? Why are you in such a hurry? Are you friends of Uncle Xuhui?!"
"His brother, when we get there you'll know what the illness is!"
So, without preparing anything, not even a phone charger, Su Ziyang was dragged directly to the train station by Mr. Mengfei.
The master and apprentice took a high-speed train for nearly eight hours before arriving in the city where Xuhui's family lived.
Mr. Mengfei was waiting for Xue Zhen, so the master and apprentice did not immediately inform Xuhui, but instead found a hotel to stay in.
The hotels around the train station were quite mediocre, and in the middle of the night, people would knock on the door asking if they wanted services, leaving Su Ziyang and his apprentice Mr. Mengfei, quite helpless.
Fortunately, Xue Zhen called to say he had arrived around noon the next day.
Mr. Mengfei and Su Ziyang then checked out of their room and waited for Xue Zhen at the exit.
As Xue Zhen exited the station, Mr. Mengfei saw him and pointed him out to Su Ziyang.
Looking into the crowd, Su Ziyang noticed that Xue Zhen was quite recognizable. He had a very fair complexion and delicate features, almost like a girl. Not only Su Ziyang, Xue Zhen also had a small braid in the back of his hair, making him even more androgynous.
The moment Su Ziyang saw Xue Zhen, he felt that this person was strange, but he couldn't quite put his finger on why. Out of curiosity, Su Ziyang secretly circulated his Yunqi and narrowed his eyes slightly, using the Qi Observation Method to look at Xue Zhen, wanting to see who this person was that made his master so polite.
Suddenly, a golden light flashed past Xue Zhen, stinging Su Ziyang's eyes. Su Ziyang quickly looked away from Xue Zhen.
Su Ziyang noticed Xue Zhen's aura, which Xue Zhen seemed to have sensed. Xue Zhen walked directly towards Mr. Mengfei and Su Ziyang from the crowd.
"Mr. Mengfei! Doctor Su, right? Haha." Xue Zhen greeted Su Ziyang and Mr. Mengfei.
"Yes, Xue Zhen, right?" Mr. Mengfei extended his hand and shook hands with Xue Zhen.
"Haha, Mr. Mengfei, you can just call me Xiao Xue. I heard about your esteemed name from Daoist Master Xiao!"
Xue Zhen was much more humble than when he hung up the phone that day.
"Let's just grab a bite somewhere, and then you'll have to go to my friend's house this afternoon, okay?"
Mr. Mengfei looked at Xue Zhen Xue Zhen and spoke to him in a consultative tone.
"Oh, no need, no need. You can just call your friend, and we'll go check on them. If everything's alright, I have to rush back this afternoon; I still have some things to take care of there!"
Xue Zhen's words surprised Mr. Mengfei. Mr. Mengfei, but he didn't say anything. Instead, he nodded and dialed Xuhui's number.
I'll be right there!
Xuhui said something on the phone, and less than half an hour later, Xuhui pulled up in front of the three of them in a Buick minivan.
"Get on the bus!"
When Xuhui greeted him, he didn't see Xue Zhen. It wasn't until Xue Zhen got into the car that Xuhui noticed this exceptionally handsome young man with a braid.
"Mengfei, what's this?"
"The expert I invited Xue Zhen," Mr. Mengfei quickly introduced briefly, then pointed to Xuhui, who was driving, and said to Xue Zhen, "Xue Zhen, this is my friend. Xuhui is the younger brother of the person we're going to see this time."
"Thank you. I'm sorry to have troubled you, young man Xue Zhen! Thank you!" Xuhui greeted Xue Zhen as he drove.
"You're welcome, you're welcome," Xue Zhen said with a light laugh.
