Diagnosing the Illness
"My brother and sister-in-law are like that, desperate and grasping at any remedy. My little niece has been sick for two or three years, and they only hired these quacks out of desperation! Don't mind their attitude!"
Han Xixi whispered to Su Ziyang.
"Ah!"
Su Ziyang nodded. He hadn't expected Han Xixi, who had just been looking at Master Yan with such admiration, to say something like that.
"I thought you actually believed Master Yan's words just now!"
Su Ziyang said with a smile.
"Tch, I've seen plenty of these con artists. He could easily find out everything about me with just a few questions. It must have been that Grandpa Tian who told him. Grandpa Tian used to be my brother's boss and also his friend. He knows Grandpa Tian, so of course he knows whether I'm in school or married!"
Han Xixi's way of thinking surprised Su Ziyang, so Su Ziyang asked again, "What about what he said about the future? You don't believe him either!?"
"Who knows what will happen in the future? We can't verify this. Just say the nice things! Hurry, stop talking, go see my little niece. I think you can cure her! Come on, come on!"
Seeing that her older brother and Master Yan had disappeared, Han Xixi urged Su Ziyang to run upstairs.
It has to be said that Han Xixi's brother's house is really luxurious. The second floor is even better decorated than the first floor. The carpet on the floor is made of some kind of material, which feels very comfortable to walk on and looks very expensive.
Han Jinkai was standing in the doorway of a room, unlocking it with a key. Su Ziyang noticed that the door was locked with several locks.
"Xuanxuan, we're coming in!"
After unlocking the last lock, Han Jinkai called out as he pushed the door open.
As soon as the door opened, Su Ziyang saw a dark figure dart out of the door and head straight for Han Xixi.
"Watch out!" Su Ziyang tried to block Han Xixi's path, but Han Xixi didn't dodge at all. Instead, she ran towards the dark figure.
"Xuanxuan!"
As soon as Han Xixi spoke, the dark figure sprang up like a monkey and clung to her, causing Han Xixi Han Xixi stumble back several steps.
Only then did Su Ziyang get a clear look at the dark figure. It was a little girl with short hair and not very tall. Her only distinguishing feature was that she was extremely thin, with visible knuckles on her elbows and knees.
"Auntie, you're here! Hehe."
Xuanxuan wrapped her arms around Han Xixi's neck and kissed Han Xixi's smooth face in a soft, hesitant manner.
Han Xixi hugged Xuanxuan and smiled so hard her eyes crinkled, "Did Xuanxuan behave? Did she throw a tantrum again?"
Xuanxuan shook her head. "Auntie, my dad won't let me go out to play if you don't come. Let's go out and play! Let's play outside!"
Su Ziyang had been observing Xuanxuan's expression and movements, and found that in addition to being excessively thin, the child had another obvious characteristic: she seemed to have terrifyingly abundant energy. Ever since she jumped onto Han Xixi, she had been moving her hands and feet around without stopping.
"Xuanxuan, come here. Come to Daddy!"
Han Jinkai waved to Xuanxuan.
Unexpectedly, Xuanxuan pouted and shook her head violently. "No, unless you take me out to play!"
"Xuanxuan, come to Mommy, Mommy will take you to play!"
Han Jinkai's wife walked towards Xuanxuan and Han Xixi.
Unexpectedly, when she saw her mother walking towards her, Xuanxuan suddenly broke free from Han Xixi's embrace. Since Han Xixi was standing at the top of the stairs, Xuanxuan jumped onto the stair railing.
Then...
Then...
She stood firmly on the stair railing, just like a little monkey.
Su Ziyang was stunned, staring in astonishment at Xuanxuan standing on the stair railing, then at the calm Han Xixi beside her. "What's going on? This... this is China Kung Fu!?"
Clearly, this wasn't the first time Han Xixi had seen Xuanxuan display such amazing skills.
"Xuanxuan, come down!"
Xuanxuan listened to what Han Xixi said.
When Xuanxuan saw her aunt calling her down, she turned to the side, jumped up again with a whoosh, and grabbed the edge of the second-floor stair railing.
Then, with a thud, he landed on the stairs, and with another leap, he was on the first floor.
"Come on, Auntie! Let's go out and play! Hurry up!"
As Xuanxuan spoke, she waved excitedly at her aunt.
"Hurry, hurry! Jump down, Auntie!"
Xuanxuan felt that Han Xixi was going down the stairs too slowly, so she urged her on.
Han Jinkai ran to Su Ziyang's side and stood at the top of the stairs, not daring to move down a single step.
Su Ziyang looked at Han Jinkai, who dared not move, and asked softly, "What's wrong with your daughter?"
Han Jinkai completely ignored Su Ziyang and anxiously said to Master Yan, who was slowly walking over, "Master Yan, look... you have to think of something. I don't dare to chase after her; if we do, she'll run even faster and might fall!"
Master Yan calmly patted Han Jinkai on the shoulder. "Don't worry. From my observation, your daughter is likely possessed by a cat demon. Let me use a talisman to subdue this evil spirit!"
Su Ziyang was even more shocked after hearing Master Yan's words. "A cat demon?"
Although Su Ziyang didn't understand these supernatural and bizarre matters, based on Su Ziyang professional knowledge, he was certain that this wasn't a case of spirit possession.
The primary characteristic of being possessed by a spirit is incoherent speech and a loss of mental clarity.
But Xuanxuan was different. She knew everyone, expressed herself clearly, and was of sound mind. The only unusual thing about her was that she was very agile, jumping around all the time.
"Master Yan, please perform your ritual quickly, please don't harm my young lady!"
Han Jinkai's wife said anxiously from the side.
Master Yan took out a small wooden box from his shirt pocket, and inside lay a stack of talismans.
The golden talisman paper and crimson runes looked very beautiful.
Master Yan took out a talisman and put the box back in his pocket.
Then he held the talisman in both hands, chanted incantations, and his hand gestures changed constantly, making it dazzling to the eye.
After this whole process, Master Yan stomped his foot and shouted, "Go!!!"
The soft talisman paper flew towards Xuanxuan like a hard card.
When Xuanxuan downstairs saw people throwing things at her from upstairs, she ran away in a flash.
The talisman landed where Xuanxuan had just been standing. Xuanxuan turned around, picked up the talisman from the ground with a puzzled look, examined it curiously, and realized that she didn't understand it.
With a tearing sound, the talisman was ripped in two.
This tearing of the talisman left Master Yan completely bewildered.
"Master Yan! This... this..."
Han Jinkai, standing to the side, was so anxious that he could barely speak.
"Don't be hasty, this demon has some skill! Let me summon a killing talisman!"
Master Yan offered words of comfort.
However, Han Xixi, who had already gone downstairs, did not give Master Yan a chance, but instead carried Xuanxuan aside.
