Sorrow
After Luo Youde finished cooking, he noticed that Master Luo and Su Ziyang hadn't returned for a long time, so he came looking for them.
As soon as I entered the courtyard, I saw Su Ziyang kneeling in front of Master Luo.
"Oh my god! What's going on here? Why are you scolding your apprentice at home? Besides, what era are we living in? Why are you making someone kneel down?"
After Luo Youde entered, he called out and pulled Su Ziyang. He pulled Su Ziyang, but Su Ziyang remained kneeling in front of Master Luo and did not move.
"Alright, alright. Kid, stop kneeling. Uncle Yong's leaving, let's go eat. Stop scolding the child here."
Luo Youde gently touched Master Luo and found that Master Luo had his eyes closed and was unresponsive. Then he saw Su Ziyang's face covered in tears and suddenly realized what was happening.
"Uncle Yong? Uncle Yong!!!"
According to the villagers, Master Luo had twins, but no one could contact them; they had been missing for many years.
Master Luo kept it in the old house. Luo Youde took out a set of things made of sorghum stalks, called "bozi".
Master Luo lay there, his face covered with joss paper, and a candle lit on his head.
Su Ziyang remained kneeling beside Master Luo, not moving an inch all night.
"Child, kneeling like this isn't a solution. I know you're uncomfortable, but you've been kneeling all night. The whole village has come; we need to get things done. How can we get things done if you're kneeling here!"
Luo Youde's last words about getting things done seemed to persuade Su Ziyang. Su Ziyang tried to stand up, but his knees, which had been kneeling all night, were completely numb, and he stumbled and almost fell to the ground.
"Child, child, eat something. You're his apprentice. We've tried to contact Uncle Yong's child, but we couldn't. So, could you be his filial son, and then our village will hold a ceremony? Do you understand? Someone will tell you what to do then!"
Su Ziyang didn't speak, but looked at Luo Youde and nodded.
Wearing mourning clothes and keeping vigil all night, beating the barbarian and smashing the basin...
At home, Fairy Li tugged at Mr. Mengfei's arm. "Sir, aren't you going too far? Ziyang must be feeling so bad."
"What do you know, little girl? Don't cause me any trouble. I'm writing something." Mr. Mengfei said to Fairy Li in a bad mood. Fairy Li didn't leave and plopped down next to Mr. Mengfei.
When Mr. Mengfei saw that Fairy Li was blocking his way from doing chores, he pulled up a stool and sat down to the side, saying, "It would be even more upsetting for him if I didn't let him see me off. I know you're worried about him, but aren't I worried about him too?"
"On the train back, you only said that Master Luo had broken the seal, and although his power was exhausted, he could still live for another three to five years. But you didn't say that he would die immediately."
Fairy Li pouted and glared angrily at Mr. Mengfei.
Seeing that Fairy Li was relentless, Mr. Mengfei put down his vermilion brush and sighed, "This is all I can tell you. Master Luo's good health is entirely due to the magic he cultivates. Once the magic dissipates, his bodily functions will definitely be ruined. This is Master Luo's own choice. If he stays on that mountain for the rest of his life, living to 120 years old wouldn't be a problem. His lifelong wish is to go home and visit his family. If he can't go home, what's the point of living to 800?"
Fairy Li remained silent, pondered for a long time, then picked up her bag and left.
Yang Tianzheng looked up at Mr. Mengfei: "I told you to tell Ziyang and Yaya the truth, but you kept it from me again."
"Get lost!"
Mr. Mengfei gathered all the talismans on the table into his drawer, cursed at Yang Tianzheng, and then went out.
Mr. Mengfei had just stepped out the door when his phone rang.
"Master Luo is gone."
"Hmm." Mr. Mengfei simply hummed in response.
"I've repaid your favor; one act in exchange for one item. We're even."
The voice on the phone was chillingly cold.
"Xue Zhen, there's no need to be so cold. Master Luo has left, have you gone to see him?" Mr. Mengfei called out when he saw Xue Zhen about to hang up.
"There's no need. Just have your disciple burn incense in front of their ancestral master's statue every festival for three years straight. Then he'll be dead!"
"Beep~"
Five days later, Su Ziyang returned home exhausted.
Upon opening the door, I found Fairy Li sitting on the sofa in her pajamas, drawing on a tablet.
"Susu, you're home."
Fairy Li threw down her tablet and rushed into Su Ziyang's arms.
Su Ziyang hugged Fairy Li Fairy Li gently kissed her forehead. Fairy Li looked at Su Ziyang's cold face and pouted, "Still sad?"
"No. I'm just feeling a little unwell. I'm going to take a shower and go to sleep."
"I'll let you urinate!" Fairy Li jumped off Su Ziyang.
"No need, I'll just rinse it off."
Su Ziyang put down his bag and went into the restroom.
Hearing the sound of water coming from inside, Fairy Li pursed her lips, found a set of underwear for Su Ziyang in the room, and placed it on the sofa.
"I've put your underwear and pajamas on the sofa. I'll go make you something to eat."
"No, I'm not hungry."
Fairy Li made a bowl of stir-fried noodles, but Su Ziyang really didn't want to eat it, so he simply collapsed onto the bed and fell into a deep sleep.
In his dream, Su Ziyang returned to the mountain stream. Master Luo waved happily to Su Ziyang and then taught Su Ziyang how to cast a spell.
"Master!"
Startled awake, Su Ziyang was covered in sweat.
Su Ziyang breathed a sigh of relief when he found himself lying on his bed at home. He turned his head and found Fairy Li staring straight at him.
It was pitch black outside; it was already night.
"I was dreaming. Wipe your sweat."
Fairy Li took a towel and wiped the sweat from Su Ziyang's forehead.
Fairy Li sat on the edge of the bed, Su Ziyang hugged Fairy Li waist, buried his face in Fairy Li arms, and burst into tears. Fairy Li just held Su Ziyang's head and let Su Ziyang cry.
For five days, Su Ziyang did not eat or drink a drop of water, completely immersed in grief. With the help of the villagers, Su Ziyang buried Master Luo in a daze.
If Luo Youde n't forced Su Ziyang to drink a bowl of sugar water after Master Luo's burial, Su Ziyang might not have been able to make it back by car.
Unlike Master Bian at the time, Master Luo died right before his eyes. Moreover, the way Master Luo passed on his skills to Su Ziyang was like giving Su Ziyang a blood transfusion; Su Ziyang carried Master Luo's bloodline.
Even Su Ziyang's body couldn't withstand such torment, and Su Ziyang cried himself to sleep in Fairy Li's arms again.
When I woke up the next day, there was soy milk and an egg on the bedside table.
"Eat something, you haven't eaten for days. Have some soy milk and an egg. I'll make you something nice for lunch. Mr. Mengfei and Master Yang will be coming to see you later."
Okay, Su Ziyang nodded, inserted a straw, and took two sips of soy milk.
"Don't worry, your sis's here for you."
Fairy Li patted Su Ziyang's head and peeled an egg for Su Ziyang.
