Treatments for Pharyngitis
Most of the people who come for acupuncture have lower back and leg pain. Although Su Ziyang can now treat internal diseases with acupuncture, he still treats most surgical pain.
After performing the procedure and seeing good results, the patient left with a smile. Only then did Su Ziyang have time to reply to Ma Jun's message.
"I just finished acupuncture on a patient. I'll send you a method. Have your mom try it."
"Okay, no problem!"
Ma Jun replied crisply and decisively.
Su Ziyang's method is a folk remedy, but it is very effective. It was passed down to Su Ziyang by Daoist Jin.
Su Ziyang told Fairy Li about this herb used in the prescription last night.
Human fingernails!
The previous chapter briefly introduced the benefits of nail care.
In his book "Records of Chinese and Western Medicine in Combination", Zhang Xichun provides a more detailed description of the effects of nail treatment.
The nail is also called "tendon retraction" because it is the remnant of the tendon, hence the name "tendon retraction".
Before use, first cut the charred remains into small pieces and grind them into a fine powder.
Fingernails have the ability to break open. If there are sores on the body, such as boils that are about to break open, applying fingernail tips can help them break open quickly.
Nails can also be taken internally to expel the placenta. They can also be used to make eye drops to clear eye pterygium. In short, they have many uses and can be described as having various miraculous effects.
Su Ziyang told Ma Jun that this method was also related to nails: cut off the nail from the patient's thumb, roll it into a pipe or put it in a tobacco pouch, light it, and smoke it to eliminate the hyperplastic follicles.
"Holy crap, bro. That was amazing! Okay, thanks a lot, bro!"
Ma Jun sent a voice message, and Su Ziyang replied, "Learn it, what you learn will be useful!"
"Great! Awesome."
This nail has another clever use, which was taught to Su Ziyang by Su Ziyang father when Su Ziyang was a child.
A person's own fingernails can treat "snail blister." This "snail blister" is probably a local dialect term, meaning that while you're eating, a blood blister inexplicably appears in your mouth without you biting into it or anything; it's very inexplicable.
At this point, take a piece of steamed bun, or anything edible will do, cut off a small strip of your fingernail, wrap it around the nail, put it in your mouth, chew it thoroughly, and swallow it.
When Su Ziyang was a child, he ate too fast and always got these blisters in his mouth. This method always worked.
Thinking of pharyngitis, Su Ziyang suddenly remembered a few remedies. He had used these remedies a few times himself, and the effects were very good.
The first one is vinegar-egg liquid. This is a food therapy recipe. The Yellow Emperor's Inner Canon Classic says, "Strong poisons can cure diseases, removing six out of ten; common poisons can cure diseases, removing seven out of ten; slightly poisonous poisons can cure diseases, removing eight out of ten; non-toxic poisons can cure diseases, removing nine out of ten; grains, meat, fruits, and vegetables can nourish the body completely."
This means that medicine has some degree of toxicity, and dietary therapy is generally the best option.
Vinegar-soaked egg liquid is a type of dietary therapy, and the preparation method is very simple. Find a teacup and an egg, wash the egg shell clean, put it in the teacup, and then soak the egg in rice vinegar.
As we all know, rice vinegar softens the eggshell. Once the eggshell becomes a soft membrane, you can puncture the egg and stir it with chopsticks to mix the egg into the vinegar.
Every morning, take a small spoonful, put it in a bowl, and pour boiling water over it, like making egg drop soup. If you find it too sour, you can add honey.
Drinking a small bowl of vinegar and egg mixture before meals can greatly improve common pharyngitis.
However, there is a dietary restriction for this method: you cannot eat pork or particularly greasy food for half a month.
In fact, most ancient medical practitioners avoided the topic of pork.
There's even a saying that all meats are nourishing except pork, which is said to generate phlegm and dampness.
Su Ziyang scribbled and drew in his notebook, jotting down his thoughts and insights.
Then Su Ziyang wrote down another prescription in his notebook: Throat-Soothing Formula.
This prescription is also quite interesting; it consists of four ingredients:
Honeysuckle, forsythia, scrophularia, and burdock seed.
There are no fixed quantities for the four herbs; they are all meant to be consumed in moderation as a tea substitute.
However, this prescription contains mostly cooling herbs, so it's more effective for sore throats and fever. If you have a cold constitution, frequently experience diarrhea, or have a cold stomach, this prescription is not suitable for you.
As the saying goes, there is no best, only what is suitable.
The best choice is the one that is determined by your own physical condition.
That's how traditional Chinese medicine works; it might have one prescription for every thousand people, or it might have different prescriptions for every thousand people.
This is all determined by each person's condition and physical constitution.
Therefore, it is impossible for a single prescription to cure all diseases.
After finishing writing all this, it was time to leave work. Su Ziyang closed his notebook, locked the door of the clinic, and headed home.
As they approached the residential area, Su Ziyang's phone rang again; it was Han Jinkai calling.
"Hey bro. It's been a while since we last talked. They're all missing you at the farmhouse this Saturday. Got some time?"
Su Ziyang thought for a moment and realized he didn't have anything else to do, so he simply agreed.
I hung up the phone and walked home. Before I even entered the door, I could smell the fragrance wafting from inside.
After going on her trip, Fairy Li still didn't give up on her idea of learning to cook. After repeatedly pestering Mr. Mengfei for lessons, she finally learned Mr. Mengfei's signature dish, braised pork.
"Susu, hurry up and try it. I feel like I really put in the effort today."
Su Ziyang picked up his chopsticks, took a piece of braised pork and put it in his mouth. Sure enough, it melted in his mouth and was rich but not greasy.
"Alright. Fairy Li has grasped the essence of my master's teachings!"
Fairy Li smiled happily and patted her chest, "Hehe, this girl is incredibly clever, this little thing is no problem for me! Time to eat! Today we have braised pork, and I also made some cold bean sprouts."
Rice topped with braised pork and cold bean sprouts is absolutely delicious!
"Zijun, thank you."
While eating, Su Ziyang suddenly stared straight at Li Zijun and said something.
Fairy Li was taken aback at first, then curled her lip. "What? Did I move you?"
Su Ziyang nodded and then shoveled rice into his mouth.
In Su Ziyang's memory, Fairy Li was always a fairy who wore her hair in a bun, never lifted a finger, and drank dew.
However, after the two started dating, Fairy Li quickly got into character and began to focus on the daily grind of cooking and cleaning.
In Su Ziyang's memory, no one had ever been so kind to him except his mother.
"Alright, stop being silly."
Fairy Li took Su Ziyang's rice bowl and added another bowl of rice for Su Ziyang.
"Hey-hey!"
Su Ziyang grinned foolishly as he looked at the rice bowl that Fairy Li handed him.
