Su Zang's Dinner Gathering
Su Ziyang doesn't drink alcohol, but he thought the recipe for this medicinal wine was quite good, so he wrote it down and copied it down.
The Daoist Medicine Clinic held free clinics on designated dates. After Su Ziyang spent several days helping with the free clinics, the Daoist Medicine Clinic gave Su Ziyang a few days off.
Coincidentally, Su Ziyang also missed home, so he decided to go home and visit.
Su Ziyang's parents were still busy at home, and they were very happy to see him return.
Dad specially cooked a spicy and savory tofu and pork intestine soup for Su Ziyang, along with a few other home-style dishes, and then asked him to have some.
"Dad, I don't drink alcohol. I'll have a soft drink with you instead."
Su Ziyang poured his father a full glass of wine, while he took a bottle of Six Walnuts for himself.
"So you've become quite successful at work? You don't even drink anymore?"
Su Ziyang's relationship with his father is a friendship-like bond. Although his father is strict when it comes to serious matters, he always maintains a sense of humor in everyday life.
"If the kid doesn't want to drink, then he doesn't have to! What's so good about drinking?"
Su Ziyang's mother also opened a bottle of Six Walnuts and started drinking it by herself.
"Fine, don't drink it then, it's good wine! Hahaha!"
Su Ziyang's father took a small sip of his drink, and Su Ziyang slapped his forehead. "Oh dear, Dad. I forgot when I got back. Wait a minute, wait a minute!"
Su Ziyang stood up and ran back to his room, opened his suitcase and took out a large wine bottle.
This is three catties of original brew that Su Ziyang extracted from Daoist Jin's big barrel.
Su Ziyang ran back to the dining room with the wine jug in his arms.
What are you holding?
Su Ziyang's father asked a question with a puzzled look.
"Try this; you absolutely can't get your hands on this kind of wine normally."
Su Ziyang proudly handed the wine to his father. Su Ziyang father took it, opened the cap, and smelled it. "Hmm! This wine smells really good. It's really nice! Try it. Hey, why don't you drink this one? I'll drink this one!"
Su Ziyang's father pushed the glass of wine he had just poured in front of Su Ziyang's mother.
"I won't drink this. I'll only drink the good wine my son brought back."
Su Ziyang's mother chuckled, pushed the wine back, and then took two small wine glasses for herself.
"Try the wine my son brought back!"
Su Ziyang's parents each poured themselves a small glass of wine and took a small sip together. "This is quite strong. But it does taste very good!"
"Oh, right, Dad. I have a recipe for making medicinal liquor. I'll get the herbs tomorrow and make it for you. This liquor is quite strong. You can drink a little bit every day to strengthen your body!"
Su Ziyang brought back a total of ten catties of raw liquor, which was just enough to make medicinal wine.
The next day, Su Ziyang went directly to the local pharmacy, got all the medicinal herbs, and then bought a glass jar at the supermarket.
When buying jars, make sure to buy regular glass jars, not the kind with a tap.
The faucet looks convenient for pouring wine, but actually, there's a rubber gasket at the faucet connector, and part of the faucet interface is submerged in the wine.
One is that it's unhealthy, and the other is that it affects the taste of the infused liquor.
Therefore, when you're buying wine, you might as well buy a wine jug or make one yourself.
"Dad, this wine needs to be soaked for 30 days. After 30 days, add a little rock sugar when you open the jar. It will taste better that way."
Su Ziyang sealed the jar, wrote the sealing date and the opening date on it, and then the job was done.
After staying at home for two days, Su Ziyang's father came home at noon and said to Su Ziyang in a cheerful tone, "Son, could you tell me about that prescription?"
"Sure. What do you need this for, Dad? I'll write it on the list for you!"
Su Ziyang took out paper and pen and began to write down the prescription.
"Your uncle and his family came today, and I told them you made a recipe for making medicinal liquor, and they wanted it all."
"Okay. I've written it down. You can take a picture and send it to them on WeChat. Then tell them how to pick them up!"
After writing down the prescription, Su Ziyang handed it to his father.
"Just take my phone and talk to them directly. I'm afraid I won't be able to explain myself clearly."
Su Ziyang's father handed his phone to Su Ziyang and then went to the kitchen to see what he was making.
After Su Ziyang explained to his uncles how to prepare the medicinal wine, the matter was considered closed.
As evening approached, Su Ziyang received a call from Su Zang: "Why didn't you let me know you were back? Let's go out for dinner and drinks tonight!"
"Okay. I just got back two days ago, and I just finished talking to my dad."
Su Ziyang said with a smile.
"Okay. I'll contact you after work." Su Zang was busy and didn't say much before hanging up.
"Dad, Su Zang invited me to dinner tonight."
Su Ziyang hung up the phone and spoke to his father.
"Sigh. Xiao Zang hasn't been talking about serious matters much these past year or two. Your grandma told me the other day that this kid is always getting into trouble outside. Don't drink too much with him! Come home early after you've had your drinks!"
After giving Su Ziyang a few words of advice, Su Ziyang's father knew that his son had grown up and understood, so he didn't say anything more.
Su Ziyang said he understood. Su Zang wasn't exactly honest before, but he was usually quite serious and earned a decent amount of money from his job.
Anyway, Su Ziyang hadn't seen Su Zang for more than half a year, so he didn't think too much about it.
Around 7 p. m., Su Zang called Su Ziyang and said that he had booked a place at such-and-such location and that Su Ziyang could just go there.
When Su Ziyang arrived, Su Zang had just arrived as well.
Su Ziyang had assumed the two of them would have a meal and chat like before. But when Su Ziyang looked, he found that Su Zang had brought three or four friends with him.
Su Ziyang didn't recognize any of them, and they were all burly and didn't seem like good people...
"Come inside, come upstairs and have a seat!"
After seeing Su Ziyang Su Zang put his arm around Su Ziyang and walked upstairs.
"Sis, let's stick to the same order as before!"
This was the first time Su Ziyang had ever heard of ordering barbecue skewers in advance.
"Alright, bro!"
Judging from his familiarity with the proprietress, Su Zang must have been eating here for quite some time.
After going upstairs, what surprised Su Ziyang even more was that after they sat down and started eating, Su Zang neither introduced his friends nor Su Ziyang.
The group started drinking together like that.
Icy draft beer, one sip at a time.
Su Ziyang didn't drink alcohol; he just sipped tea and occasionally ate a couple of lamb skewers, without saying much.
It wasn't that Su Ziyang didn't want to speak, it was that Su Ziyang simply couldn't get a word in edgewise.
Su Ziyang didn't know the people they were talking to, Su Ziyang were so awkward that he didn't know how to respond.
But the central themes revolve around wages, another fight in the workshop, and recently he's dating a younger woman...
After eating for about half an hour, Su Zang realized that Su Ziyang hadn't drunk any alcohol.
"Hey, Ziyang, why aren't you drinking?"
Su Zang was already a bit tipsy, and his speech was somewhat incoherent.
"Oh, I haven't been feeling well lately, I'm taking medicine. I can't drink alcohol!"
Su Ziyang didn't know what to say, so he just made up a reason.
