The Thing in the Water
A snake bites with three parts resentment, a tiger eats its enemy.
The group chatted casually when Mr. Mengfei said something like this.
"This thing, I have to say, makes some sense."
Qi Chu agreed with Mr. Mengfei's statement.
Su Ziyang hung the things on his waist and walked for a while.
Suddenly I felt something was off, and I had a vague feeling that I had forgotten something.
"Hold head high."
Su Ziyang stopped everyone, and then all three people and the dog focused their attention on Su Ziyang.
"What's wrong, Ziyang?"
Mr. Mengfei was very concerned, thinking that Su Ziyang was suddenly feeling unwell.
Why do we wear these things?
Su Ziyang adjusted the cage on his waist.
Didn't I just say that?
Qi Chu was also a little confused.
"I have a better way."
Su Ziyang took the cage down.
"What method?" Mr. Mengfei looked at Su Ziyang with some surprise.
As mentioned before, Mr. Mengfei did not know exactly what Su Ziyang had learned from Master Luo.
That's why Mr. Mengfei asked that question.
"I'll cast a spell to suppress the poisonous snakes in this area."
Upon hearing Su Ziyang's words, Qi Chu's eyes lit up.
"Oh right. I forgot you're a descendant of the Heavenly Physician Lineage. Your forbidden techniques are formidable. Come on, come on."
Qi Chu gestured to Su Ziyang, indicating that Su Ziyang should begin his performance.
Su Ziyang didn't hesitate either, after all, his lineage was there for all to see. After Su Ziyang stood still, the scene of Master Luo teaching him how to enter the mountain to set up a barrier reappeared in his mind.
This made Su Ziyang feel uncomfortable again.
Composing himself, Su Ziyang placed his left hand on his hip, his right hand on his chest, closed his eyes, and Visualization his mind on the crimson aura.
After finishing his Visualization, Su Ziyang suddenly opened his eyes and blew towards the sky.
Everyone present had the ability to read qi, including Dog Bones.
Because dogs can see things that humans cannot.
Even the Bones were stunned, staring at the breath I had just exhaled.
The three watched as Su Ziyang's breath gradually enveloped the entire mountaintop, filling it with crimson mist. The mist slowly settled on the ground and disappeared.
Mr. Mengfei was secretly thrilled, because Su Ziyang was, after all, his disciple. As a master, he couldn't be happier than if his disciple had such cultivation.
"Great! Great! This Qi is beautiful!"
Qi Chu gave Su Ziyang a thumbs up.
"Then this thing is useless. I had a hard time catching it. It's pointless. Next time I go into the mountains, I'll take you with me. I should have known I shouldn't have brought the Bones; this thing eats way too much!"
Qi Chu opened the cage at his waist and threw the centipede into the bushes nearby.
When Bones heard Qi Chu complain about how much he could eat, it started barking at Qi Chu.
"What's wrong? Did I wrong you by saying you can eat a lot? You dog brain, you heard me clearly."
Qi Chu patted Bones's forehead and laughed, scolding him.
"Why does what you're saying sound so awkward to me? Are you praising me?"
After releasing the centipede, Su Ziyang pondered the words Qi Chu had just said.
"Of course I'm praising you. Don't overthink things at such a young age!"
Qi Chu chuckled, patted Su Ziyang on the shoulder, and walked forward.
"So my value is equivalent to those centipedes and Bones?"
Su Ziyang rolled his eyes.
You're stronger than Bones, at least you eat less than Bones.
Su Ziyang was speechless.
Qi Chu, still basking in the joy of his verbal victory, hummed a little tune as he led the way.
As the jungle gradually grew denser, sunlight could only filter through the gaps in the leaves, and thanks to the Tyndall effect, the paths formed between the trees appeared exceptionally quiet and beautiful.
All of them were skilled in martial arts and possessed exceptional footwork.
So, the group ventured deep into the dense forest that morning.
"Are you hungry? Let's rest for a bit before continuing our journey."
Qi Chu suggested taking a break, and the others immediately agreed.
Traveling through the dense forest, the humid and hot weather can leave even the strongest body exhausted.
Having found a slightly larger space, Qi Chu set up the smokeless stove.
Extreme caution must be exercised when starting a fire in the jungle.
Therefore, this task was undertaken by Qi Chu, who had extensive experience in starting fires.
Su Ziyang and his two companions searched for firewood and some dry leaves.
The group had brought bottled water, but a stream appeared ahead, so they decided to fetch water on the spot and use the bottled water when they reached a place without a water source.
My Bones were exhausted after a whole morning, so when I saw some water, I ran over and drank it first.
Drinking wasn't enough; the Bones jumped into the stream and started frolicking.
Su Ziyang could only fetch water upstream from where the Bones were playing. Just after Su Ziyang had filled a pot with water, he heard the Bones had been playing happily, suddenly let out a violent wail.
Qi Chu had mentioned this on the way here.
Bones is a dog with considerable experience in jungle hunting.
Even when facing a wild boar king or a bear, Bones remained calm and was able to move around and fight for a while.
But now that such a sound had been made, Su Ziyang quickly ran over.
The wailing Qi Chu and the other two who were starting a fire, and they quickly ran over.
However, after running over, the four of them did not find anything that was causing the Bones to howl.
Because apart from the Bones howling madly, there were no other species where the Bones were.
"Bones, what's wrong? Bones."
Qi Chu ran over with a pained expression and hugged the Bones.
Bones Qi Chu comforting him, the bone's howls subsided somewhat, and then it stretched out one of its claws.
"It's swollen?"
The Bones was already large, and now that its claws are swollen, it's even bigger.
It was almost as big as Qi Chu 'Qi Chu palm when placed in his hand.
"This is?"
Su Ziyang approached and took a closer look. "Bitened by a scorpion?"
"That shouldn't be the case. It was just playing in the water, and there's no way there would be a scorpion here."
Su Ziyang quickly refuted his own statement.
Qi Chu examined the Bones claw closely and noticed a small red bump on Bones surface.
The bump swelled up, like a pimple.
"The wound is here? What is this?"
Fairy Li also discovered this place, touched it with her hand, and found it to be hot.
"I don't know. It looks like something stabbed me."
Qi Chu wasn't sure what kind of injury it was, so he took out some wound medicine from his backpack and applied it to the Bones.
After applying the secret wound medicine, the Bones stopped groaning, but he still walked with a limp.
The group was speaking a bit loudly, and just when they thought everything was fine, it was Mr. Mengfei first noticed something was wrong.
"What is that! Watch out!"
Mr. Mengfei pulled out his legendary Ucchusma Vajra directly from his pocket.
Following Mr. Mengfei 'Mr. Mengfei low shout, the group looked in the direction he was looking...
