A Note Written a Year After Completion
It's been over a year since Su Ziyang's story ended.
My new book, "The Ordinary Doctor Who Saves the World," has been in writing for about three months and is currently being serialized. It already has 500,000 words.
There's so much I want to say.
But when the words are on the tip of my tongue, I don't know how to say them.
Let's start with the original intention of writing about Su Ziyang. Actually, this intention was explained once in the last chapter, but I would like to say it again.
The purpose of writing this book is to promote traditional Chinese medicine culture.
Then today I suddenly discovered that I can write side stories.
I don't know what an extra chapter is, but it basically means adding a new chapter to a completed book.
I don't know where to begin, so I'll just answer a few questions instead.
The first thing is that many people are looking for my contact information or seeking my medical advice online.
I have never responded to any of these statements.
It's because I'm already busy enough, and I don't have the time or energy to deal with too many other things.
If you're seeking medical help, I still recommend that you see a qualified traditional Chinese medicine doctor.
In fact, I have repeatedly talked about what makes a good traditional Chinese medicine doctor in the book, how to identify a good traditional Chinese medicine doctor, how to seek medical treatment, and how to determine the efficacy of medications.
Anyone can tell the difference if they pay attention.
The second problem is that there are many typos in the book.
This book was typed out bit by bit on my phone. Sometimes I was very busy and updated very late, rushing to finish the story, so there might be quite a few mistakes and omissions. I didn't review it in time, so there are quite a few typos. I will correct these typos little by little in the future.
The third question, and I feel this is the one that gets asked the most.
The story goes that Su Ziyang finally learned so much from this novice and became a true master of traditional Chinese medicine. It should be time for him to dominate the world and treat all kinds of patients. Why did the chapter end so abruptly? It's not satisfying or enjoyable.
Actually, this was part of my book-writing plan.
Su Ziyang is you, and you are Su Ziyang.
The day when one masters traditional Chinese medicine is the day the book ends.
This book is written for you.
It is written for those who are interested in learning traditional Chinese medicine.
You can follow these steps to learn, one by one. One day you will find that you have come a long way and stood very high.
Su Ziyang's learning sequence is the same as mine, and I hope it can offer some reference for your learning.
Therefore, there is no need for everyone to search for Su Ziyang, because everyone is Su Ziyang.
Let me also mention my new book, "Ordinary Healers Who Save the World".
Throughout the year, I constantly read novels, learning how others write a good novel.
Therefore, the writing style of the book "The Common Doctor Who Saves the World" is quite different from that of Su Ziyang.
The emphasis is more on this being a novel, rather than overly didactic knowledge.
By combining education with entertainment, people can learn some knowledge of traditional Chinese medicine while enjoying the stories, making the reading experience less dry and boring.
However, the amount of knowledge is still substantial; it's just diluted within the context of the story, requiring everyone to study and understand it more diligently.
Perhaps, after writing "The Common Healer," I won't choose to write novels anymore.
Because there are too many things to do in life.
Seeing a doctor, studying, and living.
Seeing doctors and writing novels now take up almost all of my time.
This has resulted in me not immersing myself in the ocean of traditional Chinese medicine knowledge for a long time.
So just enjoy the new book.
Wishing you all a happy life.
