Do You Want to Dance Too?
The melodious and elegant dance music created a wonderfully immersive atmosphere.
But most of the first-year students were looking around, curiously trying to figure out where the music was coming from.
Red curtains hung down on all sides, and no one knew what kind of scene lay behind them.
Perhaps there's a musical orchestra hiding there?
Lin Luo turned her head and realized that very few of the freshmen had the awareness to run to the center of the dance floor and dance as soon as they heard music.
After practicing court dance for so long, he now has this urge to dance whenever he hears music.
But being the first couple to dance at the start was too eye-catching, which wasn't what Lin Luo wanted.
"You bunch of boys and girls are so shy..." Lin Luo thought to himself. "Xue Qian, couldn't you just pull your sister into an opening dance?"
But the next moment, a clear and melodious laugh caught Lin Luo's attention.
No, it attracted everyone's attention.
Everyone turned to look.
In the center of the dance floor, a swirling red dress resembled a blooming peony blossoming under the dome, vibrant and exquisitely beautiful.
Qian Renxue blinked slightly. "That's... Hong Chen?"
The music seemed to awaken Hong Chen's lively nature, making her happily spread her arms in the center of the dance floor, oblivious to everyone around her, and joyfully twirling her youthful body.
The music around her seemed to be playing just for her.
Everyone was stunned; no one had noticed when such a stunningly beautiful girl had appeared among the freshmen.
Yu Luoyi dropped the pastry she was eating on the ground.
He stared blankly, the girl's wine-red hair reminding him of the figure he had been thinking about these past few days.
"Team leader..."
Yu Luoyi turned his head and shouted.
Xiong Chumo continued eating, ignoring everything else, lost in her own world.
Qian Renxue, standing behind Lin Luo, laughed and said, "This little girl is so cheerful; she gives me a very different feeling."
Lin Luo suddenly blurted out, "It looks a bit like a dog."
Qian Renxue quickly slapped him on the back of the head. "Why are you cursing at people?"
Lin Luo looked at her irritably and explained:
"What I mean is, don't you think she's like a cheerful little puppy? She likes to spin around when she's happy."
"Your perspective..." Qian Renxue blinked, then suddenly nodded. "You know, there's a bit of that. Xiao Hong seems to be like that too; she spins around when she's happy."
After spinning around for a bit, Hong Chen stopped, seemingly oblivious to the various gazes directed at her from all around.
Instead, she remained immersed in her own joyful atmosphere, dancing court dance steps that seemed somewhat unfamiliar and poorly executed.
"Da da da..."
"Da da da..."
She hummed a rhythm to herself in a sweet voice, then turned her head and looked at the others with a strange expression, asking in confusion, "Aren't we supposed to be dancing? Why am I the only one here?"
"Jump! Of course we'll jump!"
Yu Luoyi shouted and rushed out, arriving in front of Hong Chen.
Hong Chen smiled at him, and the two faced each other, separated by a meter or two, twisting and turning each other with their terrible court dance steps.
Yu Luoyi stared at her intently, not daring to reach out and touch the girl's hand.
Although the girl's court dance seemed even worse than his, Yu Luoyi felt that he couldn't let his poor dancing skills tarnish the girl's beauty at that moment.
In his heart, the girl wearing the butterfly mask and with long, wine-red hair was incredibly beautiful at that moment, more so than any goddess in his dreams.
But he didn't know that the girl opposite him had only studied court dance for an hour because she had no one to teach her and had secretly gone to the Moonlight Pavilion to learn on her own.
Yu Luoyi asked happily, "Are you in Class One?"
Hong Chen: "Yes!"
Yu Luoyi: "So, what's your name?"
Hong Chen pouted and huffed, "I'm not telling you!"
"Get out of the way! What kind of rubbish are you doing?!" Xue Qian's voice suddenly came from the side, full of disgust.
Hong Chen and Yu Luoyi turned their heads and saw Xue Qian pulling his sister's hand as they approached.
Xue Qian raised his hand high, while Xue Fu smiled and twirled under her brother's hand, her black evening gown flowing out like Black Swan, looking incredibly beautiful.
Hong Chen snorted, expressing his dissatisfaction with Xue Qian, but his eyes were also filled with longing as he watched Xue Fu's graceful dance steps.
She fell in love with the court dance the first time she saw it at the Moonlight Pavilion, but no one taught her. She could only spend an hour learning it on her own before the ball started, peering through the window of the Moonlight Pavilion. The only thing she was good at was making rhythmic "da da da" sounds with her mouth.
She remembered that's what the pretty older sister named Tang Yuehua called her.
They all joined.
In the corner, Qian Renxue spoke to Lin Luo.
Lin Luo nodded, took Qian Renxue's hand, and the two stealthily slipped over to the edge of the dance floor.
When Hong Chen saw the two of them arrive at the dance floor, his eyes lit up.
Yu Luoyi came to her senses and found that the girl in the red dress in front of her had disappeared.
As more and more people filled the dance floor, he glanced around and couldn't immediately find where the other person had gone.
Lin Luo: "Are you ready?"
Qian Renxue smiled and said, "Ready?"
Lin Luo had been learning this dance for four years, and today was the day to hand in his answer. He was a little excited.
He put his arm around Qian Renxue's waist, and Qian Renxue held his shoulder. The two of them, wearing masks, laughed and joined the crowd on the dance floor.
Hong Chen watched Lin Luo and Qian Renxue dance from the side.
"Wow--"
She watched with rapt attention, then suddenly clapped her little hands joyfully, cheering for Lin Luo and Qian Renxue.
But as she hopped along, Lin Luo noticed that Qian Renxue's high heels kept getting tripped by the trailing hem of her skirt.
He couldn't help but complain, "The dress you chose today..."
Qian Renxue: "Shut up, I'm already being a good dance partner for you."
But the next moment, the trailing hem of Qian Renxue's dress was lifted up.
"Leave it to me!"
Hong Chen tilted his head and peeked out from behind her, laughing.
Lin Luo was taken aback.
Qian Renxue said somewhat embarrassedly, "But little sister, isn't this too much trouble for you?"
Hong Chen shook his head. "It's no trouble at all, I enjoy watching you two dance!"
She seemed genuinely unconcerned about how others might perceive her... Lin Luo looked at the girl in surprise once more. After all, helping someone lift their skirt was a somewhat humble act, especially since she was a student, not a servant.
But judging from Hong Chen's expression, he seemed even happier than before.
What exactly is she...?
Lin Luo: "Thank you. I can teach you to dance sometime."
He didn't say, "Your dance moves are terrible."
"Really?!"
Hong Chen was overjoyed and peeked out from behind Qian Renxue once again.
Lin Luo: "Really."
"Great! I want to learn court dance too!"
She happily bounced around in place, seemingly wanting to spin, but because she was holding onto Qian Renxue's skirt, she was forced to suppress her impulse.
