What?! Your Home Is in the Worship Hall?!
All three were a little surprised.
School had been in session for so long, yet this was the first time they had noticed a classmate who looked so young.
The boy only came up to Yan's stomach. No matter how they looked at him, he didn't look twelve.
Xie Yue folded his arms and said disdainfully, "Why are you so short?"
At the rude question, the boy frowned slightly, his face flushed with anger, but he said nothing.
After all, his uncle had told him not to reveal that he had gotten in through the back door, so he had to hide his real age.
"Malnutrition..."
Xie Yue said, "...Can you even handle it? Our team doesn't take trash."
"Heh, my talent isn't bad, and I came here for Brother Baby. In all the days I've spent in this class, he's the first classmate worth looking at seriously."
Lin Luo said, "Yiya?"
Yan raised a hand and patted the boy on the shoulder.
"Whatever, you're in. With me, Xie Yue, and Nana on this team, we're already more than enough to beat everyone under heaven."
Hu Liena shrugged. "I don't see a problem either. We just need to put together a seven-person team."
She looked at the boy and asked, "What's your name?"
"Miao Duoduo."
"Okay, Miao Duoduo, welcome to our seven-person team!"
At that moment, Lin Luo had no idea that the grade director had mistaken him for Miao Duoduo and given him a student identity.
The Platinum Bishop's grandnephew was this very Miao Duoduo!
And Wang Shicheng, the admissions office director and the only person who knew the truth, was still away on a business trip...
Xie Yue said, "We're still two people short, but there's no rush. The problem now is finding time to get familiar with our teammates' abilities."
Yan laughed. "We have a lot of classes today, so there probably won't be time. Tomorrow morning, then, at the training ground!"
He was eager to get started and brimming with confidence about the class team selection a week later.
Hu Liena looked down at Lin Luo in her arms, as if she had remembered something, and hurriedly asked, "Baby Yiyi, you can make it on time tomorrow, right?"
No! I have a problem!
Big sis, you finally asked the right question!
Lin Luo struggled onto the desk in front of Hu Liena. He sat down on it and spoke:
"Yiya! Mommy yiya, yiya! Mommy! Yiya yiya!"
With plenty of gestures and his baby talk, he conveyed his predicament to Hu Liena and the other two.
The corner of Xie Yue's mouth twitched. "...What did Brother Baby say?"
Hu Liena translated word by word. "He said it's hard for him to come out because his mommy won't let him go to school. He wants us to sneak him out tomorrow morning..."
Hearing that, Lin Luo smiled and clapped his chubby little hands.
Xie Yue and Yan were dumbstruck.
"Nana, you're amazing! You could actually understand that?!"
"Little sis, your baby talk is level ten!"
Hu Liena was very pleased with herself. "My spiritual power and comprehension are the strongest of the three of us, okay?"
Miao Duoduo, however, was deeply moved. "Brother Baby is truly a role model for us all! His family won't let him go to school, yet he still insists on coming! Brother Baby! Please accept a bow from me, Miao Duoduo!"
My uncle was right. First Grade, Class One really is teeming with talent!
Lin Luo watched the little brat drop to one knee and clasp his hands in a salute.
He was utterly baffled. Since when had he acquired a little fanboy?
Lin Luo gestured at Hu Liena again, babbling in baby talk.
Xie Yue and Yan immediately turned to look at the interpreter.
Hu Liena said, "Baby Yiyi says he's going to crawl around the academy for a bit. When classes end at noon, he'll take us to see where he lives so we can pick him up tomorrow."
"Okay, okay, okay, go ahead, Brother Baby!"
"Farewell, Brother Baby!"
Under the respectful gazes of the four, Lin Luo crawled out of the classroom.
The homeroom teacher, Mailun, saw this but didn't stop him. After all, the director had said the little fellow only needed to show his face in class each day.
Lin Luo immediately started racking up his step count. He had to go back at noon because he needed milk.
Hopefully Mommy-san won't be angry and will still give me milk...
At noon, Lin Luo crawled back to the Class One classroom. Classes had just ended, and Hu Liena immediately came over with a smile and picked him up.
"Baby Yiyi, these are the other two team members, Sai Kaka and Luo Ya. They're support Soul Masters."
Hu Liena introduced them enthusiastically.
Lin Luo took a look. Sai Kaka was a chubby little boy, while Luo Ya was a cute little girl.
"Yiya~"
He greeted them, and Luo Ya immediately clasped her hands, her eyes turning into stars.
"Brother Baby, I like you so much! I joined because of you too!"
Hearing this, the six-year-old brat Miao Duoduo snorted.
Her reason's exactly the same as mine. Twelve-year-old girls aren't necessarily all that mature either.
"Enough talk, enough talk. We have to take Baby Yiyi home. Sai Kaka, Luo Ya, don't forget about tomorrow morning!"
"Okay, Captain!"
Hu Liena was the seven-person team's provisional captain for now.
Now, the three of them carried Lin Luo and quickly ran out of the academy, following the directions of his chubby little hand.
Yan was a little surprised. "Whoa, he really does live inside Spirit Hall!"
The three noticed that Lin Luo wasn't pointing toward the outside of Spirit Hall. Instead, the route he pointed out led farther inside.
Xie Yue raised an eyebrow. "You didn't know? Even if Brother Baby is talented, it'd still be hard to get into the academy without some family background. I reckon one of his elders must be a Black-Robed Bishop. Otherwise, the grade director wouldn't have done him this favor."
"That makes sense."
But when the three carried Lin Luo to the outer plaza, Xie Yue fell silent.
"Nana... what's this mean? We're going farther in? No way, right?"
Xie Yue was starting to doubt his own judgment and hurriedly asked.
Hu Liena nodded. "Baby Yiyi says yes."
"Whoa..."
Anyone who could live beyond the outer plaza was an extraordinary figure, at least a Cardinal.
And a Cardinal had the strength of a Soul Saint!
Xie Yue smiled uneasily. "Brother Baby... haha, he's got quite a background..."
But after they passed through the Pope's Hall and reached the inner plaza, Xie Yue couldn't even manage a smile.
Even Hu Liena looked at Lin Luo in surprise. "Baby Yiyi, is your home... still farther in?"
Lin Luo nodded cutely.
Yan began to panic. "We can't enter the inner plaza. There are soldiers on patrol."
Hu Liena frowned. "But we can't just leave Baby Yiyi here. We still need to know which room he lives in, or how are we going to pick him up tomorrow?"
"Good point. Then let's sneak in by staying out of sight."
Yan spoke solemnly.
The atmospheres of the inner and outer plazas were entirely different.
One was imposing and solemn; the other was relaxed and lively.
Entering the inner plaza meant entering the true core of Spirit Hall.
The three evaded the patrolling soldiers and crossed the inner plaza.
But when they saw Lin Luo raise his chubby little hand and point farther ahead again, they were scared stiff on the spot.
"Still farther in?! The Worship Hall is just ahead!"
