Are You Asleep?
After Chen Rongrong had a good cry, she was clearly feeling much better.
On the drive to the hotel after she and Zhou Yuwen left KFC, she chatted and laughed with him, more at ease than before.
The seat belt ran down across her chest, accentuating the curves of her figure beneath it.
Chen Rongrong felt that she and Zhou Yuwen had exchanged secrets and could now be considered close friends. Their relationship was even closer than their relationships with Shen Ding and Dong Xue, so she openly asked Zhou Yuwen what his father did for a living.
"This car must be pretty expensive."
"He has some money, but not that much," Zhou Yuwen said.
Chen Rongrong said that was still pretty good.
"I'm so jealous. I never would have guessed you were a rich second-generation heir."
Zhou Yuwen smiled without saying anything. A little while later, when they were nearly at the hotel, he asked if she had brought her ID card.
"Oh, right, I forgot my ID card!" Chen Rongrong stuck out her tongue, seeming annoyed at her own clumsiness.
Zhou Yuwen said it was fine; he had brought his.
"I'll check in first, then head home after I take you to the room."
"Won't you stay with me?" Chen Rongrong turned to look at Zhou Yuwen, disappointment written all over her face.
Zhou Yuwen chuckled and asked, "Aren't you afraid of me?"
"What's there to be afraid of?" Chen Rongrong laughed at that.
She had only just graduated from high school and was still rather innocent. Hearing Zhou Yuwen's question, she even blinked and asked, "Could it be you want to sleep with me?"
"Oh, I see! I treat you like a brother, and you actually want to sleep with me?!" Chen Rongrong went on to crack a joke of her own.
Chen Rongrong was indeed quite fond of Zhou Yuwen at this point, but given everything she had been through growing up, there was no way a few kind words and a late-night KFC meal would move her enough to make her offer herself to him.
This girl was clever. She had finally managed to become a flight attendant, and her only way forward would surely be to marry well.
As for Zhou Yuwen...
Honestly, back at KFC, Chen Rongrong really had been a little moved.
But after leaving KFC, the emotion had faded.
Chen Rongrong still thought it would be better to remain friends with Zhou Yuwen.
As for later...
It wasn't as if Zhou Yuwen had no chance.
Zhou Yuwen parked the car, and before he could say anything to Chen Rongrong, she could no longer hide her smile. "We're staying here?"
"I heard it's pretty expensive here. Why don't we go somewhere else?"
Zhou Yuwen said it was too late, and small inns weren't safe.
"Let's just stay here. Wait for me in the car while I get a room."
"Mm..."
Watching Zhou Yuwen walk away, Chen Rongrong felt an inexplicable sense of reassurance.
A little while later, Zhou Yuwen came out with a room card. He said he would take Chen Rongrong upstairs first.
Chen Rongrong obediently followed him.
Chen Rongrong rarely stayed in hotels. To be precise, she had only stayed in one a few times in total, when she went out of town with her uncle and aunt. She had never stayed in a hotel this upscale.
As she walked down the hallway with Zhou Yuwen, Chen Rongrong said that if she had known she'd be staying out, she would have brought a change of clothes.
Zhou Yuwen said there was no way to know everything in advance.
Chen Rongrong smiled, thinking he was right.
They swiped the room card and went inside.
The upscale hotel's surroundings were indeed nice, but Chen Rongrong froze when she saw the king bed in the room.
Zhou Yuwen said, "I wanted to book a twin room, but the front desk told me there weren't any left, only business rooms with king beds."
"So I decided to book one for you."
"All right, then. Get some rest here. I'm going home." With that, Zhou Yuwen put down the room card, turned, and headed out.
"Don't!"
Chen Rongrong had indeed frozen when she saw the king bed, because she had imagined Zhou Yuwen would book a twin room and stay to keep her company.
They could talk to each other.
She had so much bottled up that she wanted to tell Zhou Yuwen.
She had many friends, but Zhou Yuwen was the first one she had voluntarily told about her family situation. She wanted to tell him about all the grievances she had kept in her heart over the years.
At the same time, she was very curious about Zhou Yuwen's family.
She also wanted to hear about the misfortunes of the family Zhou Yuwen had grown up in.
But when they opened the door and she saw it was a room with a king bed, she couldn't help minding it somewhat.
Then she heard that Zhou Yuwen was leaving, and she couldn't help grabbing hold of him.
Being alone was lonely.
Especially in this unfamiliar place.
So what if they slept in the same bed?
It wasn't as if anything would happen.
"Don't go."
"Stay and keep me company."
After wrestling with herself for a long time, Chen Rongrong finally said those words.
Then, as if a weight had been lifted from her shoulders, she took off her shoes, ran over to the bed, and pulled back the covers.
The girl had a great figure. At 170 centimeters tall, she took up half the bed when she lay down. "The bed's big enough anyway. There's plenty of room for both of us to sleep."
Zhou Yuwen asked, "Aren't you going to shower?"
"I don't think I need to..."
She was quite clever. Keeping her clothes on felt like one more line of defense.
But once she took a shower, things would be different.
Zhou Yuwen said, "All right, then I'll take a shower."
"Mm..."
Zhou Yuwen went into the bathroom for a quick shower. When he came out, he found that Chen Rongrong had straightened up the bed a little and cleared a large space for him.
"Come on over. You sleep here."
The girl actually knew how to protect herself. She hadn't even taken off her socks; her blue sweatshirt, yoga pants, and the white socks pulled over them were all still firmly in place.
She had left Zhou Yuwen a large space.
Zhou Yuwen murmured his assent and obediently got into bed.
Then he turned off the light.
Night in the small county town was quiet.
The room Zhou Yuwen had booked was on the nineteenth floor. Beyond the floor-to-ceiling window, everything was quiet and peaceful.
A full moon hung high in the sky.
The room was silent.
If the king bed were divided into four equal parts, Chen Rongrong occupied only one portion at the edge, leaving the other three for Zhou Yuwen.
Zhou Yuwen glanced sideways at Chen Rongrong, who had her back to him. She had long, jet-black hair.
She had a large frame, so from behind, there wasn't much beauty to speak of.
Zhou Yuwen had indeed been harboring impure intentions tonight.
It had been forty or fifty days since his rebirth, and he had spent that time either exercising or making money. He was a normal man, and his youthful urges always had nowhere to go.
As for Chen Rongrong...
Leaving her looks aside, just that pair of big melons...
Who wouldn't want to get their hands on them?
In his previous life, Zhou Yuwen felt that he had woken up too late. When he looked back, he found that all the good girls had married.
Now that he had been reborn, he would certainly allow himself a few more tries and mistakes.
He wouldn't let a good girl down, and he wouldn't let a bad girl go to waste.
But seeing how Chen Rongrong was acting...
Zhou Yuwen didn't insist.
He thought that if there was no chance, he would just leave it at that.
So he closed his eyes and prepared to rest.
"Are you asleep?" Chen Rongrong suddenly asked.
