Not Good at Relationships
"You want to play the stock market too?"
Zhou Yuwen said trading stocks wasn't as easy as she imagined. In China, it was no different from gambling.
"You know how the saying goes: nine gamblers out of ten lose, right?"
"Aren't you afraid, then?"
Chen Rongrong asked Zhou Yuwen in return.
"Of course I am. Trading stocks is a gamble to begin with. If I lose, the worst that can happen is that I have to start over, but can you afford to take that risk?"
Chen Rongrong sat on Zhou Yuwen's lap. He reached around her waist and held this "big baby" like a child as he asked.
Chen Rongrong tilted her head up and thought for a moment, then said innocently, "Then I'll give it a try too. Hubby, I'm pretty smart. I can learn a bit about stocks first, and then you can trade with me. Maybe I've got a talent for it!"
Chen Rongrong planted her hands on her hips. She was wearing a white camisole, and the pose made her chest thrust forward. Her skin was pale, though a few red scratch marks streaked across it.
Ever since she started living with Zhou Yuwen, those red scratch marks had never faded.
Zhou Yuwen kissed her chest and said, "All right. Learn the basics first, and then I'll show you how to play."
"Yay!"
Chen Rongrong happily flashed a V sign.
Zhou Yuwen had thought Chen Rongrong was just talking, but she turned out to be quite motivated. She actually bought several books about stock trading online and, on someone's recommendation, picked up a copy of "Japanese Candlestick Charting Techniques" and began studying stocks in earnest.
When they first started staying at the hotel, the two of them had a wonderful time for quite a while.
But once the initial excitement wore off, it really wasn't all that special.
When Zhou Yuwen was first reborn, he had been full of grand ambitions: running, learning music, studying foreign languages. Yet less than two months later, wine and women had clouded his mind.
Zhou Yuwen felt he couldn't go on like this. Starting today!
No more drinking!
All right, he had spent three straight weeks at the hotel with Chen Dalei, going at it day and night.
Zhou Yuwen really was getting a little tired of it and wanted a couple of quiet days.
Unfortunately, Chen Rongrong was a little too clingy. She absolutely refused to let him go home and insisted he stay with her.
Zhou Yuwen said, "I don't think this is good for your reputation."
Chen Rongrong rolled her eyes at that. "Why didn't you say it was bad for my reputation when you were sleeping with me?"
With no other choice, Zhou Yuwen stayed, but he really couldn't keep putting off things like running and exercise.
Every morning at seven sharp, he went downstairs for a run, then took guitar lessons in the afternoon. Whether Zhou Yuwen was naturally gifted or his ability to learn had improved after his rebirth, he made rapid progress. The teacher only had to explain something once, and he could master most of it. The biggest difficulty in learning guitar was stiff fingers, which required practice day after day, but Zhou Yuwen's fingers were nimble.
Chen Rongrong knew that firsthand.
So no matter how complicated a piece was, Zhou Yuwen could learn it.
Zhou Yuwen had originally planned to spend the two-month summer vacation learning only guitar, but he had basically mastered the skill in just one month. With time to spare, he started learning piano as well and took lessons in music theory, including singing techniques.
As for Chen Rongrong, she still slept until she woke naturally every day at the hotel.
Everyone had a lazy streak. Zhou Yuwen worked so hard because he could see the road ahead, but most people-no, not most people, everyone-didn't know which way to go, and that was why they felt lost.
Enjoy the present.
Chen Rongrong had been kept under her eldest uncle's thumb for who knew how many years. Now that she had a rare taste of freedom, of course she indulged herself.
Even so, she still wanted Zhou Yuwen to spend more time with her.
For instance, she wasn't happy when he got up to run in the morning. Half asleep, she pinned him down with her big breasts and playfully refused to let him out of bed, pouting as she asked him to stay with her.
But Zhou Yuwen held Chen Rongrong and told her to be good; he'd keep her company when he got back.
"Boo-hoo, I hate it. I don't want hubby to work so hard."
"If you work so hard, what if you don't want me anymore someday?"
"Maybe you'll be the one who doesn't want me," Zhou Yuwen said with a smile.
"How could that happen? You're a bachelor's student, and I'm a junior college student. My bachelor's-student husband." Chen Rongrong, "one great big girl," sprawled right on top of Zhou Yuwen.
Mornings were when his blood was already running hot.
Chen Rongrong rubbed against him, then asked in delighted surprise, "Hubby, you..."
"No, I don't want to."
"Liar, you do!"
"I don't!"
"I don't care whether you want to or not!"
Chen Rongrong could stop Zhou Yuwen for a day or two, but she couldn't keep stopping him forever. Besides, she wasn't an unreasonable person.
When Zhou Yuwen was out, she usually played games, ate snacks, and watched dramas.
Now and then, she thought about making an effort and opened the stock trading books she'd bought to read a little.
But she found she couldn't get into them at all. Playing games was much more enjoyable.
In the end, she was still a girl at heart.
Staying at the hotel for too long was bound to get tiresome. Earlier, Dong Xue and Shi Zhenzhen had messaged Chen Rongrong and invited her out shopping.
Out of vanity, Chen Rongrong had told them she was away on a trip.
Now Dong Xue and the others were asking if she was back yet.
"Are you free? Want to go out shopping together this afternoon?"
Chen Rongrong wanted to say yes, but then she suddenly remembered she had no money.
She didn't know how to bring it up with Zhou Yuwen. After agonizing over it for a long time, she finally asked, "Dong Xue and the others invited me shopping. Hubby, do you think I should go?"
"Sure. It'd be good to get out and look around."
Zhou Yuwen answered casually, then suddenly remembered something. With a chuckle, he took the two thousand yuan he had prepared earlier out of a drawer. "School's starting soon. If there's anything you need, just buy it. If you don't have enough money, ask me."
"Mm-hmm, hubby, you're the best!"
Delighted, Chen Rongrong got straight out of bed and threw herself onto Zhou Yuwen.
And so, both of them had their own things to keep them busy during the day. At night, they still played games together or did other things they loved doing.
At first, they played Don't Starve day and night. After half a month, they grew a little tired of it and switched to other multiplayer games.
Sometimes Shen Ding asked Zhou Yuwen to play League of Legends, and Zhou Yuwen would join him for a couple of matches.
Chen Rongrong would watch from the side, tucking her little feet into Zhou Yuwen's lap.
Whenever Zhou Yuwen had a free moment in the game, he would play with Chen Rongrong's little feet.
The two of them were quite happy, but Shen Ding had been miserable these past few days.
For half a month straight, Chen Rongrong had been giving him the cold shoulder.
Anxious and uncertain, Shen Ding asked Zhou Yuwen why Chen Rongrong had suddenly grown distant.
With one hand on the mouse and the other stroking Chen Rongrong's little feet in his lap, Zhou Yuwen said, "I don't know. I'm not good at analyzing other people's feelings."
