Graduation
There were a little over twenty days left until the college entrance exam, and Zhou Yuwen didn't go to school during that time.
His homeroom teacher called once to ask about him.
Zhou Yuwen replied that his foundation was too weak and that he planned to study at home on his own.
At a time like this, his homeroom teacher didn't pay it too much mind. She simply told Zhou Yuwen not to run around, but to stay home and prepare for the exam. If he really couldn't manage, he could always attend a vocational college and learn a trade.
Zhou Yuwen nodded and agreed. Before hanging up, he even thanked her.
Hu Jie, however, merely sighed.
Sigh...
If Hu Jie hadn't called, Zhou Yuwen would have almost forgotten that he still had the college entrance exam to take.
During his days at home, Zhou Yuwen checked stocks and wrote novels whenever he had time. Of course, he hadn't forgotten the lean-muscle theory, either. Every morning, he got up at seven and went out for a run, then did a hundred push-ups and sit-ups in sets.
At first, Zhou Yuwen thought it was an illusion. But after sticking with it for a few days, he discovered that his body really was considerably stronger than it had been in his previous life. At the very least, he hadn't been able to do a hundred push-ups without turning red or getting out of breath back then.
There was also his memory and ability to learn. Zhou Yuwen could clearly feel that both were much stronger than in his previous life. He couldn't say he had a photographic memory, but he could remember most of what he had read.
But no matter how strong his memory was, there were only twenty days left until the exam.
Even an immortal might not be able to save him.
Fortunately, Zhou Yuwen wasn't particularly fixated on attending university.
Going to a good university might sound impressive, but leaving aside the endless classes and assignments, the social relationships alone were complicated enough.
And no matter how good a university he attended, he still wouldn't escape layoffs and pay cuts ten years later.
What was the meaning of life?
Was it to strive and struggle?
Yet no matter what kind of youth one had, ten years later, one would still be holed up in a rented room watching short dramas on Mouguo.
So Zhou Yuwen didn't ask for much. As long as he could get into the university he had attended before, giving himself a familiar, comfortable environment was more important than anything else.
Mending the fold after losing a sheep was better late than never.
Although there were only a dozen or so days left until the exam, he still had to study something.
Otherwise, scoring just over a hundred points across all three subjects would be hard to justify.
So for the next dozen or so days, Zhou Yuwen began burning the midnight oil.
Getting up early, running, abandon.
He repeated that routine for over ten days.
The day before the exam, Zhou Yuwen received another call from Hu Jie.
"The college entrance exam is tomorrow. Find some time to come pick up your admission ticket."
"Okay."
That day, Zhou Yuwen put on a simple, clean white shirt and a pair of jeans.
Standing in front of the mirror, he had an upright posture and bright, deep eyes.
There was something about him that was hard to put into words.
Seeing himself in the mirror, Zhou Yuwen couldn't help smiling.
It had only been a dozen or so days, yet he hadn't expected such a dramatic change.
In his senior year in his previous life, Zhou Yuwen had been listless and lost. How could he have had time to run, exercise, or pay attention to how he dressed? Back then, he had simply rung the temple bell as long as he was a monk, feeling utterly lost about his future.
But in this life, after just a dozen or so days, his whole bearing had changed.
Not only had his physique changed, but the outline of a six-pack was faintly visible.
Good, keep it up!
Earn twenty million before thirty, then buy a house and a car, and have a different girlfriend every day!
With that in mind, Zhou Yuwen went to school.
The plane trees were flourishing.
Their lush leaves seemed to blot out the sky and sun, casting a stretch of green shade over the main road into the school.
On both sides of the road, whether at the rubber track on the left or the basketball court on the right,
there were girls everywhere taking photos in short JK skirts or gray pleated skirts.
Some were taking group photos, while others posed with their best friends.
By the time he reached the teaching building, a flurry of white paper scraps was raining down from above.
"We're graduating!"
"We're graduating!"
The seniors, who had spent a year under pressure, could finally let it all out that day, tearing up all the exam papers they had gritted their teeth and worked so hard on.
Just like that, they tossed the scraps down from the upper floors in a fluttering shower!
Boys and girls chased and played with one another in the corridors, laughter filling the air.
Everything before him felt so familiar.
Yet suddenly, it also felt so strange.
Zhou Yuwen was clearly right in the middle of it all, yet at that moment, he felt as though he didn't belong there at all.
Zhou Yuwen came to the classroom and looked at the familiar doorframe.
Honestly, on the day he had first been reborn, his emotions had been so turbulent that he hadn't noticed his surroundings at all.
Returning today stirred his feelings, and he unexpectedly felt the apprehension of someone nearing home.
Zhou Yuwen stood by the classroom door.
A female classmate inside noticed him and immediately looked delighted. Their homeroom teacher had just told her to send Zhou Yuwen to the office to find her when he arrived.
Huh?
After her initial delight, the girl looked puzzled.
"Zhou Yuwen?"
"Yeah." Zhou Yuwen nodded slightly.
"You've changed so much," the girl said with a smile.
"Yeah." Zhou Yuwen smiled and nodded.
There weren't many classmates in the room. Some had gone straight home after collecting their admission tickets, while others had gone to the sports field to take photos.
A few noticed Zhou Yuwen, but they only looked up at him before lowering their heads and continuing to chat with the classmates around them.
The girl told Zhou Yuwen that he needed to go to the classroom and collect his admission ticket from Hu Jie.
Zhou Yuwen nodded and was just thinking of going to the office.
Then another burst of laughter and playful chatter came from outside the classroom.
"Ah, I'm so annoyed! My photos don't look good at all. Rongrong, yours turned out the best."
"No, yours turned out pretty well too."
It was Chen Rongrong and a few other classmates.
Today was the last day of high school, and the students didn't have to wear their uniforms.
Chen Rongrong wore a gray, tight-fitting, short-sleeved knit pencil dress. The upper part had a large opening at the front, revealing half of her ample bosom.
Those melons really were big and white.
Zhou Yuwen was so stunned by the sight that he stared.
Chen Rongrong was also stunned for a moment when she saw Zhou Yuwen, but she quickly recovered and exclaimed in delight, "Zhou Yuwen!?"
"You came to school! I was just worrying about how to pay you back!"
With that, she went back to her seat and began rummaging for the 420 yuan.
It had to be said, Chen Dalei really did have a great figure. She was curvy, and her proportions were perfect.
As she bent over to look through her schoolbag, she gave Zhou Yuwen a view of her back.
When she bent down, her pencil skirt naturally rode up a little, revealing her fair, supple, and fleshy thighs.
And wrapped in that skirt were two plump, fleshy cheeks unlike those of a typical high schooler.
After searching for a while, she finally found the 420 yuan.
Chen Rongrong happily placed the 420 yuan in Zhou Yuwen's hand.
"Here! This is for you! Now I don't owe you anymore! Hehe, do you know? Because you never came to school, I couldn't find you to pay you back, and I couldn't sleep for days!" Chen Rongrong blinked and spoke with a happy expression.
Zhou Yuwen murmured an acknowledgment and said he still had to go to the office to get his admission ticket.
"Okay, go ahead. I'll wait for you!"
"Hm?"
"Just go! I'll tell you when you get back!"
