Wang Xun around and saw Aizen walking towards him, carrying two bags of food.

As a support squad, the Fifth Division is naturally responsible for these logistical and miscellaneous tasks.

"You've been traveling all day, let's eat something."

He handed the food to Wang Xun.

Wang Xun accepted it and thanked him.

Aizen sat down beside him, gazing at the darkening sky in the distance.

"We'll reach our destination tomorrow. The environment there is even harsher than here; we don't know what we'll face, so you need to be prepared."

Wang Xun nodded.

"Lieutenant Aizen, none of the patrol teams we sent out to investigate have returned?"

"No."

Aizen his head.

"According to the last message they received, they did indeed discover traces of Menos Grande. However, they didn't know exactly what level of Hollow it was or how many there were."

He paused, a hint of seriousness in his voice.

Wang Xun listened quietly, then suddenly asked a question.

"What level of Hollow does Lieutenant Aizen think it would be?"

Aizen remained silent for a moment.

"To ensure the entire patrol's demise, it must be at least at the Gillian level."

Aizen looked at Wang Xun.

"Or, it could be an existence even higher than the Gillian."

Adjuchas.

Neither of them uttered the word, but they both understood.

"But there's no need to worry too much."

Aizen's tone returned to its gentle tone.

" With Captain Kiganjō here, even if it really is Adjuchas, there's nothing to fear."

Wang Xun nodded but did not reply.

In the distance, a commotion arose from the 11th Division's camp.

Some people were talking and laughing loudly, some were arguing about whose knife was faster, and others were clamoring for someone to perform a talent.

Kenpachi Kiganjō's voice was the loudest, drowning out everyone else's.

Everyone sang and danced, eating and drinking to their hearts' content. Even Kiganjō brought out some wine and pulled a few people nearby to drink heartily.

It seems they don't take this mission seriously at all.

"Captain, we're still on a mission and have to travel tomorrow. Drinking today might not be a good idea..."

A member of the 11th Division took the bottle of liquor that was passed to him, looked hesitant, and tried to dissuade him.

"Huh... what did you say?"

Kiganjō's face darkened instantly when he saw the soldier who had tried to persuade him.

He then reached out and tossed him another bottle of wine, his tone turning somber.

"Drink it all. If you don't, I'll chop you up."

"Luckily, the Fourth Division is here; they can heal you."

The soldier hurriedly took the bottle, his face instantly turning distressed.

"Can...

He glanced up at Kiganjō and the several unfriendly-looking Seated Officer beside him.

The Reiatsu released by the group was already making it difficult for him to stand.

He knew that, given Kiganjō's personality, he really would let these people attack and kill him.

He then shakily finished the two bottles of wine in his hand, and retreated to the side amidst the boisterous laughter of the group, head bowed, not daring to say another word.

Aizen watched the 11th Division's performance, a hint of worry flashing in his eyes, and he sighed softly.

"The captain of the 11th Division is indeed a brute. Captain Hirako has always had the Question about his behavior, and today I've witnessed it firsthand."

"Wang Xun, be on high alert tonight. The 11th Division doesn't seem very reliable."

Wang Xun looked at Aizen's expression and nodded slightly.

The noise in the camp gradually subsided. Some of the 11th Division members had drunk too much and were lying haphazardly on the ground.

Wang Xun withdrew his gaze and looked at Aizen beside him.

Under the moonlight, Aizen's profile was clearly defined, with a hint of barely perceptible worry.

Anyone who sees this will think that he is a very responsible deputy captain.

But who can know what thoughts are hidden beneath that gentle face?

"Lieutenant Aizen."

Wang Xun suddenly spoke.

"Um?

Do you think anything unusual will happen tonight?

Aizen remained silent for a moment.

"It's hard to say."

He said softly.

"After all, we're very close to the scene of the incident. Hopefully, tonight will pass peacefully..."

He didn't finish his sentence, but his meaning was clear.

Wang Xun nodded and didn't ask any more questions.

The two sat there quietly, each lost in their own thoughts.

As night deepened, the darkness, as black as ink, completely swallowed the desolate wasteland of Rukongai.

The campfire in the camp had burned out, leaving only a few wisps of smoke rising in the night breeze.

Wang Xun sat cross-legged in front of his tent, not asleep.

It's not because I'm not sleepy.

It's not because he's afraid to sleep.

He had a persistent feeling that he was being watched by something, a feeling that had been lingering in his mind since nightfall.

In the stillness of the night, that feeling became even clearer, like a fine needle gently pricking the edge of his senses.

He looked up into the darkness in the distance.

I can't see anything.

Only the mournful sound of the night wind blowing across the wasteland and the occasional howl of an unknown wild beast from the distant horizon could be heard.

"Wang Xun, haven't you rested yet?"

Aizen's voice came from behind him, soft yet clear.

Wang Xun around and saw that Aizen was standing behind him at some point, holding a small water pouch in his hand.

Under the moonlight, Aizen's face remained gentle, but his eyes held a deeper depth than during the day.

"The Fifth Division will take care of the night watch, so you can rest assured."

Aizen walked over to Wang Xun and handed him a water pouch.

"What's wrong, can't sleep?"

Wang Xun accepted the water pouch and thanked him.

"Lieutenant Aizen wasn't asleep either, was he?"

Aizen softly, sat down beside him, and gazed into the darkness in the distance.

"I often work at night; I'm used to it."

Wang Xun didn't speak, but simply took the water pouch without drinking it.

"Won't you try some? This is my own recipe."

Aizen pointed to the water pouch.

"It contains some invigorating herbs; drinking a little when you're tired can relieve fatigue."

"Thank you for your concern, Lieutenant Aizen, but I'm not thirsty right now."

Aizen nodded, opened the water pouch at his waist, and took a small sip.

The two sat quietly, gazing at the distant night sky, chatting casually.

Time passed by, second by second.

After an unknown amount of time, Aizen suddenly stood up, his expression serious.

"Wrong."

His voice was soft, and his gaze swept towards the horizon.

Wang Xun also stood up, his hand already on his Zanpakuto.

The next moment, a ferocious roar ripped through the night sky.

The sound came from all directions, sharp and piercing, carrying a strong aura of violence.

Immediately afterwards, countless dark figures rushed out of the darkness and pounced on the camp.

"Enemy attack!"

The Fifth Division members on night watch shouted loudly, instantly waking the entire camp.

The members of the 11th Division were startled awake by the sound, and they opened their eyes groggily.

Only when he felt the Reiatsu of the Hollow right next to him did he suddenly come to his senses and frantically grab the Zanpakuto beside him.

Kiganjō's condition was even worse; he slowly awoke after being violently shaken by several Seated Officer.

Only when he learned of the impending attack did he suddenly open his eyes wide and stagger to his feet.

Then, in a muffled voice, he urged the members of the 11th Division to get up and fight.

The battle began instantly.

The glint of swords and the howls of the void intertwined, and the collision of Reiatsu stirred up waves of energy.

Although the members of the 11th Division are rough, they are indeed fierce in battle, charging fearlessly towards the oncoming Hollows.

However, their condition was too poor, and in the first encounter, many of the team members who had not been able to adjust their condition suffered heavy losses.

Aizen and Wang Xun stood by, ready for battle, because what was coming was not just these ordinary Hollows.

In the sky, several enormous figures were slowly tearing open the Garganta, attempting to descend.

The intensity of that Reiatsu was clearly that of Menos Grande of the Gillian level.
