Transmigration
Author's opening ramble: I first saw Naruto on TV when I was in elementary school. There was no internet back then, so I could only watch it by ordering it over the phone. (I called to order Naruto every day, and the phone bill was so high that month that my family gave me a beating, hahaha.) But that didn't stop me from following Naruto, and so began my long years of keeping up with the anime.
Every week, the happiest part was waiting for Naruto to update. Back then, I often chatted with other fans on the Naruto Tieba forum and discussed the plot, and every day was a happy one. Even in middle school, I still went to internet cafes every week to watch Naruto. But when Naruto ended during my freshman year of college, I felt empty inside, as though something important were missing.
After graduating from college, work and all sorts of trivial matters took over my life, making it dull and monotonous. Only recently, when I rewatched Naruto, did that once-extinguished flame come back to life. I wanted to write something to make up for my regrets and indulge my nostalgia.
Over the past decade or more, my preferences seemed never to have changed. When I was following the anime, I especially loved the Uchiha Clan, and that was still true when I rewatched Naruto. Their love was pure, and their hatred was just as unambiguous. Strength and love never seemed to be at odds. The clan of love, the tormented clan, the clan that endured humiliation and bore heavy burdens, the mentally unstable clan-they were all unhinged beauties who suspected the whole world before they ever doubted themselves, hahaha. Every character was more compelling than the last. I loved them so much, hahahahaha. Every character in the clan was wonderfully conceived, but their endings were heartbreaking.
I hope this story gives everyone who was left with regrets about Naruto a happy ending, and makes up for the regrets I've carried since watching it all those years ago. It's a feel-good story where the protagonist is doted on by everyone and has a cheat, though it won't be too outrageous. Life is hard enough already, so of course the world in this story should be a little sweeter.
Finally, the setting belongs to Kishimoto, the out-of-character portrayals are mine, and the love is for you.
This is a warm slice-of-life story about bonds, with plenty of emotional scenes. If you can't accept that, the exit is to your right, so please don't leave a low rating in the reviews. Thanks again! Please leave your brains here.
----------The story begins below----------
Konoha Year 40.
On a sunny day, outside a delivery room at Konoha Hospital, several Uchiha clansmen wearing the clan's fan emblem stood in the hallway, as anxious as ants on a hot pan.
Uchiha Fugaku, the head of the Uchiha Clan, waited anxiously with his clansmen, his heart full of anticipation and worry.
Sweat beaded on Fugaku's palms as he unconsciously tapped the wall and paced up and down the hallway, his nerves on edge.
Uchiha Fugaku stared intently at the delivery room door, as though he could somehow see how his wife, Uchiha Mikoto, and their soon-to-be-born child were doing.
Fugaku's feelings were complicated. On one hand, he eagerly awaited the birth of his first child; on the other, he worried for his wife Mikoto's safety.
He knew that pregnancy and childbirth were dangerous, yet he couldn't stay by his wife's side and could only pray silently in the hallway.
Time passed second by second, and to Fugaku, every second was long and agonizing.
"Clan head, please don't be so nervous. All that pacing is making me dizzy." Uchiha Yashiro, a man in the prime of his life, spoke jokingly to Fugaku. He wore a dark blue robe embroidered on the back with the Uchiha Clan's classic ping-pong-paddle fan emblem.
He had short brown hair and brown markings beside the corners of his eyes. He was Fugaku's loyal companion and capable assistant, as well as a member of the Konoha Military Police Force's leadership.
"Brother Yashiro, please don't tease me. I'm really very nervous." As the head of the Uchiha Clan and captain of the Konoha Military Police Force, Fugaku was in his early twenties. Now, faced with the birth of his first child, he couldn't help feeling anxious.
Suddenly, the delivery room door swung open, and a medical-nin emerged carrying a baby. Smiling, she said to Fugaku, "Congratulations, clan head, it's a boy! Mother and child are both safe!"
Fugaku rushed over at once, his heart filled with joy, too excited to put it into words.
He took the tiny life in trembling hands, and the members of the Uchiha Clan crowded forward to look at the child, offering Fugaku their congratulations.
After all, this was the clan head's first child, and he would become the future hope of the Uchiha Clan.
Uchiha Fugaku held the tiny, red, wrinkled little life close, his heart full of love.
At that moment, he knew he had become a true father, and overflowing happiness and satisfaction spread across his face.
Fugaku knew full well that the arrival of this little life had completely changed his life.
Koki was a twenty-first-century college student from Blue Star, enthusiastic, optimistic, and cheerful.
His daily life was simple and routine. Aside from classes from nine to five and an endless stream of exams to deal with, his only two hobbies were watching anime and playing Honor of Kings. But damn TiMi had made the game more and more of a rip-off to make money, so he had quit a long time ago.
One fine afternoon, Koki sat in front of his dorm computer as usual, browsing Naruto videos.
He had just seen an outrageous comment from a hater: "Itachi killed his whole family. He's an animal."
Unable to hold back, he fired back in the comments.
"Itachi was furious that everyone remained stubbornly misguided even as they neared destruction. He went from wanting to save the whole clan to only hoping to protect Sasuke..." Koki excitedly typed out a long reply to the person.
But just as he finished typing and was about to send it, a powerful wave of dizziness suddenly struck him. Everything went dark before his eyes, and it was as though an invisible force had swallowed him up and carried him into an unknown world.
After an unknown amount of time, Koki groggily opened his eyes and found himself lying in a warm, comfortable cradle, surrounded by unfamiliar things.
"Ah, ah." Koki had just opened his mouth to speak, only to make a baby's babbling sounds.
What's going on? He looked at the tiny hands before him. Have I turned into a baby?
A beautiful woman stood beside the cradle, gazing gently at the child inside, her eyes shining with a mother's love.
Uchiha Mikoto saw that her son had woken up and still looked half asleep, so she smiled and walked over, picking up a rattle to play with him. "Little Koki, you're awake? Are you hungry?"
Hearing a voice he couldn't understand beside him, Koki turned to look at the beautiful woman, and a strange sense of familiarity welled up in his heart.
Black hair, black eyes, and such a gentle smile... She looks just like a typical Uchiha beauty from Naruto. What? Uchiha?
Holy crap! Isn't this Itachi and Sasuke's mother, Uchiha Mikoto?
Could it be that I've transmigrated? And into the most dangerous world of all, Naruto?!
Looking at the short little hands waving in the air, Koki felt the string called reason snap in an instant!
He had read countless Naruto fanfics, but he had never imagined that such a clichéd transmigration plot would happen to him.
Fortunately, he didn't have many attachments in his old life. After his parents divorced, they had each started new families and found happiness, and both sets of grandparents had passed away when he was young.
Perhaps starting this new life wasn't as bad as he had imagined.
