Fugaku Goes Mad!
As soon as Torifu Akimichi speaking, the people below began to whisper among themselves.
Some people looked astonished, seemingly unable to believe the news; others whispered among themselves, their faces showing panic.
"What on earth is going on? Is Danzo really dead?"
Someone whispered, "Could it be a conspiracy from another village?"
Others looked anxious and worried, saying, "If this continues, the stability of Konoha will be threatened." They feared that Danzo's death would trigger more turmoil and unrest.
Seeing the commotion, Torifu Akimichi shook his head helplessly and said again, "Everyone, please be quiet."
His voice carried an air of authority, instantly silencing the previously noisy conference room.
All eyes were on Torifu Akimichi and Hiruzen Sarutobi, waiting for their further explanation.
In the silence, Hiruzen Sarutobi gazed at the gradually calming faces and spoke gravely, "Now that Danzo is dead..."
However, before he could finish speaking, he was interrupted by a sudden voice.
Suddenly, Fugaku opened his eyes, straightened his body, and slammed his palm hard on Hiruzen Sarutobi's desk, producing a dull thud.
His face was contorted with rage, his eyes wide as he glared at Torifu Akimichi and Hiruzen Sarutobi, shouting, "Who said Danzo dead?! Where is his body?"
Everyone was shocked and stared in disbelief at the angry man before them; they had never seen Fugaku like this before.
The room was completely silent, save for Fugaku's heavy breathing echoing in the air.
Hiruzen Sarutobi's expression darkened, a barely concealed rage flashing in his weathered eyes, but he tried his best to remain calm. "Fugaku, what do you mean by this? As the Hokage, do you think I speak carelessly?"
Fugaku's eyes widened, veins bulging on his forehead. "Lord Hokage, how could you so easily conclude that Danzo is dead before you've seen his Danzo with your own eyes? Do you think the Uchiha Clan is so easily fooled?"
Hiruzen Sarutobi a deep breath, trying to calm himself down, and then slowly said, "There is sufficient intelligence to support this."
Fugaku scoffed dismissively, mocking, "What intelligence? You think we should believe you based on just a few empty words?"
Just then, Shikaku Nara stepped forward, trying to ease the situation, "Fugaku, the Lord Hokage doesn't speak without evidence."
Fugaku turned to Shikaku Nara, his tone sharp, "Shikaku Nara, you have no right to speak here!"
"You!"
In that moment of silence, Torifu Akimichi slowly said, "Fugaku, I have personally examined Danzo's body and confirmed it is correct."
Upon hearing this, Fugaku's gaze turned solemn, and he stared at Torifu Akimichi for a long time, as if trying to see into his soul.
Finally, Fugaku's gaze slowly swept over the four people sitting in the high seats. He revealed a cold smile, then pointed a finger at them and said loudly, "You think you can get away with this?"
His voice echoed like thunder in the empty conference room, filled with indignation and doubt.
The four people sitting in the high positions had different expressions.
Mitokado Homura couldn't help but shout, "Fugaku, watch your words!"
However, Fugaku remained unfazed. He stood tall, facing the four men directly. "You should know perfectly well what I said, right? Today, you must give the Uchiha Clan a satisfactory explanation!"
"Alright, even if Danzo is dead, how should we hold him accountable for the heinous crimes he committed during his lifetime?" Fugaku's words came out like a machine gun, giving his opponent no chance to breathe.
"He actually sent Root to assassinate an innocent child. Is this your decision as Hokage? Are you trying to force our Uchiha Clan to launch a coup?" His gaze was fixed on the four people, as if trying to find the answer in their faces.
Fugaku's voice grew increasingly impassioned, "Everyone, have you heard the news these past few days? Root has secretly built a laboratory in the village! The sight inside is horrifying—mountains of corpses, all experimental subjects made from the village's ninja! How exactly did Danzo torture our ninja? This act is utterly outrageous!"
"The Root established laboratories and captured Konoha Ninja everywhere, using them as victims for experiments. Did the Lord Hokage approve of such actions? Danzo murdered a large number of ninjas in the village; did you, the Third Hokage, know about this?"
Fugaku's eyes sharpened as he stared intently at the Third Hokage, demanding, "How was Danzo able to control such abundant resources and establish such a sophisticated laboratory? Why did no news leak out about the disappearance of dozens of ninjas in the village? Are you higher-ups secretly protecting him?!"
"Danzo dead! However, Root still exists! Which clan leader present doesn't know that Root is a reserve force for the Anbu, and how many of them are still loyal to Danzo?! How many are still harming innocent ninjas in the village?"
"The Anbu represents the Lord Hokage's will! The Anbu and Root have committed countless evil deeds! They ruthlessly harmed the village's ninjas! They conducted cruel experiments! They even assassinated the clan leader's child!"
"Doesn't even the Lord Hokage know?! Anyone who didn't would think these orders were issued by the Lord Hokage himself?!"
"Danzo dead," Fugaku pointed at Hiruzen Sarutobi, "As Hokage, didn't you know these things? If you really didn't know, then you've neglected your duty! If you knew and chose to conceal it, then you're complicit!"
Outside the window, lightning ripped through the night sky, followed by a deafening clap of thunder, like an enraged beast shaking the entire world.
Every question Fugaku uttered was like a thunderbolt, sending chills down the spines of everyone present.
As the heads of their clans, they had weathered countless storms and witnessed countless grand occasions. Yet, at this moment, faced with Fugaku's questioning, they felt fear and their hearts wavered.
"As the Hokage, don't you know these things? If you truly don't know, then you've neglected your duty! If you know and choose to conceal it, then you are complicit!"
Fugaku's last words were like a bombshell, causing a huge uproar in the conference room.
Clearly, this statement was not merely an accusation against the Third Hokage personally, but a direct provocation against the entire Konoha High Command.
Although everyone present had some grievances against the Third Hokage, the Hokage Faction had firmly controlled Konoha for decades, and apart from the Uchiha Clan, probably no one else dared to challenge their authority so openly.
Enraged, Hiruzen Sarutobi abruptly stood up from his seat, bracing himself on the table with both hands, and glared at Fugaku with eyes blazing with fury.
His momentum was like that of an enraged lion, surging and surging as he pounced on Fugaku.
Fugaku, however, remained calm and composed. As he met Hiruzen Sarutobi's gaze, a dignified and heavy aura emanated from him.
The two men's auras collided in the air, as if stirring up a storm. Their gazes met in mid-air, and streaks of lightning ripped through the night sky.
A heavy atmosphere filled the conference room, as if an earth-shattering battle was about to erupt there at any moment.
