The Seven Attendant Immortals and Duobao Might Betray the Interception Sect
The diary read:
[Not writing today's date (I don't know it anyway)]
[The weather was clear]
[I was in a pretty good mood today. After all, I did gain a tiny bit of strength]
[That barely counts as a passing grade, but if I really have to do what I thought of before every day, I'm honestly too lazy to bother. I don't want to do it]
[Finding a place to take a nap would be so comfortable]
[But with the Investiture of the Gods Calamity approaching, I won't get to enjoy that comfort for long]
[Today was pretty chaotic. While I was resting, I saw Sect Master Tongtian of the Interception Sect telling his disciples to return to the sect]
[What, does he want the whole sect to withdraw from the Primordial World? What fucking nonsense. Would the Heavenly Dao let you withdraw?]
[Besides, even if he calls all the disciples back, it won't do a damn thing]
[The Jie Sect Disciples aren't as shameless as the ones behind those other people]
[But there are always a few uncivilized ones who won't listen]
[If you ask me, it's best to hurry up and build up some quality education, or work on the sect's culture]
[Otherwise, with Jie Sect Disciples turning traitor left and right, the Interception Sect will be destroyed sooner or later!]
In the diary,
More than half a page had been filled with writing.
Tongtian was only halfway through it,
Yet his heart was already filled with rage!
At that moment,
Veins bulged on Tongtian's forehead, and a flash of anger flickered in his eyes, which held mystical laws!
Someone had called the disciples of the Interception Sect traitors.
Tongtian, as the Jie Sect Leader,
Naturally could not accept that.
Aside from this period of the Investiture of the Gods Calamity,
Tongtian was usually kind and approachable toward the Jie Sect Disciples.
When it came to teaching his disciples and imparting knowledge of cultivation realms,
He had never slacked off.
Toward the living beings of different races and origins in the Primordial World,
Tongtian had never discriminated, always teaching without distinction.
He had already gone to such lengths.
Why, then, did it say the Interception Sect had traitors?!
Tongtian was so angry that he nearly refused to read any further.
But
Just then,
Out of the corner of his eye, he suddenly caught the first sentence below.
Its contents made Tongtian freeze.
[Like Long-Eared Dingguang Immortal, who I mentioned in the previous entry]
[He's one of the better ones. At least he became a Buddha after betraying the sect]
[The fates of the other Six Attendant Immortals were far more disgraceful]
[Except for Golden Hoop Immortal, all six of the other immortals betrayed the Interception Sect and joined the Western Teachings]
[The thing is, fine, they joined, but how did they all end up as other people's mounts?]
[Couldn't they have stayed in the Interception Sect as proper immortals? Going off to be ridden by someone else-that's pretty ruthless!]
[If they really couldn't beat their opponents and were forcibly taken away, that would be understandable]
[But these three were all Quasi-Saint experts during the Investiture of the Gods war]
[If those two bastards, the Two Sages of the West, hadn't been pulling the strings behind the scenes, how could the Seven Attendant Immortals have been taken away so easily!]
When Tongtian read this,
The corner of his mouth twitched violently.
Become mounts!?
This... this was so absurd?!
Impossible, right?!
As those thoughts ran through his mind,
Tongtian's face darkened completely.
An inexplicable look of utter desolation flashed in his eyes.
The tone of the diary seemed to carry a sense of hating iron for failing to become steel.
"Could it really be true!?"
"Wouldn't that mean the Interception Sect is riddled with problems from top to bottom?!"
"The Seven Attendant Immortals are the people closest to me!"
"But by all rights, I have treated them well, and their status in the Interception Sect is not low. They couldn't possibly commit such an act of betrayal!"
"Besides, they are proud to the bone. How could they be willing to become someone else's mounts?"
"It makes no sense at all!"
As these thoughts crossed his mind,
Tongtian's eyes flickered, but he was surprisingly reluctant to jump to a conclusion.
After what had happened with Long-Eared Dingguang Immortal,
And with the power of the Great Dao upon the Great Dao Diary,
Tongtian already believed most of what was written in the diary.
This diary might very well be predicting future events!
If it really could happen in the future,
Then why not...
Cut off the threat at its root now!
Having read this far, Tongtian's gaze sharpened, and he murmured to himself without thinking.
"However, I should still conduct a simple test to see whether it is true..."
"If the Six Attendant Immortals are all taken as seats in the end,"
"Then before long... or even now, just like Long-Eared Dingguang Immortal, they will already have harbored thoughts of rebellion!"
"It is only because I have been in seclusion that I failed to notice!"
At that thought,
Tongtian's eyes flickered slightly.
An inexplicable killing intent shot forth, completely undisguised.
The power of a Sage surged and roiled around him.
Tongtian's own anger caused the Sage's power to drift in all directions.
If this had not been Biyou Palace,
Any ordinary space might have long since been reduced to ruins.
But
Just as Tongtian was considering how to deal with the Seven Attendant Immortals,
Out of the corner of his eye, he suddenly glimpsed the very bottom of the sheet of rice paper.
There was another line of tiny, barely visible writing.
It seemed to be there to pad the word count.
[Not just the Seven Attendant Immortals, but Duobao too, and...]
Duobao too!?
When he saw that sentence,
Tongtian's face instantly changed in shock!
What did that mean!?
What about Duobao?
Was Duobao going to betray the sect too?!
At that moment,
Tongtian could no longer spare a thought for the Seven Attendant Immortals.
His eyes were fixed on the bottom of the page,
Trying to see whether there was anything corresponding to that sentence below it.
But
When Tongtian saw the last sentence on the page,
Even he, a Sage, was stunned on the spot!
[Who else was there? I forgot. I can't remember.]
[All right, this page has enough words, and the diary entry is done. I'll write the rest tomorrow and pad the word count while I'm at it.]
Tongtian: "..."
???
Come on, say it!
How could you forget right at the most crucial part!?
Tongtian's face darkened, and, unwilling to give up, he turned the page over.
But he found no writing on the back.
Disappointed, Tongtian's mouth twitched violently!
An inexplicable irritation instantly spread through his heart!
He had clearly discovered a piece of vital information, yet... yet that was all there was!
With that anger in him, his explosive temper nearly got the better of him.
Just then, however,
Tongtian's primordial spirit suddenly trembled slightly, and a call from Zhao Gongming quietly came through it.
Tongtian immediately suppressed the displeasure in his heart.
"The Jie Sect Disciples should all have returned by now."
"I had better go out and arrange the sect's affairs first."
Muttering to himself, Tongtian casually waved a hand and put the diary away.
Then he removed the restrictions surrounding Biyou Palace.
Heavy with worries, he left Biyou Palace.
