Chapter Summaries

Jiang He used DNA Surgery and a loop involving Magical Cat, T.G. Hyper Librarian, and De-Synchro to repeatedly Synchro Summon Trishula, Dragon of the Ice Barrier. He began banishing Dr. Faker’s remaining cards, leaving the duel poised for the seven repeated attacks to resolve.

• Jiang He used Trishula’s effect to banish Stronghold the Hidden Fortress from Dr. Faker’s field and Despair from the Dark from his Graveyard.
• Jiang He revealed that DNA Surgery had made all monsters Spellcasters, allowing Magical Cat to return De-Synchro to the top of his deck after serving as Synchro Material.
• T.G. Hyper Librarian let Jiang He draw De-Synchro, and the spectators and Dr. Faker realized he could repeat the Synchro Summon and banishing process.
• Jiang He activated De-Synchro and began seven more cycles, targeting all seven cards in Dr. Faker’s Graveyard and his last face-down card.

After sealing Dr. Faker, Jiang He learned that the man wanted him to save his youngest son, Hart Tenjo, and agreed to consider it in exchange for control of part of Heartland City. Kite Tenjo then arrived to ask for the same help, while Jiang He hid Dr. Faker’s card beneath Sphere Kuriboh.

• Jiang He checked his system and saw that he had amassed 102,000 Emotion Points after the WDC tournament.
• Jiang He took out Dr. Faker’s Sealing Card, and Dr. Faker begged him to save Hart Tenjo rather than free him.
• Jiang He recognized that Hart’s special power was overwhelming his human body and offered to save him in exchange for Dr. Faker’s control over part of Heartland City.
• Sphere Kuriboh warned Jiang He that someone was approaching, and Kite Tenjo arrived with Orbital 7 after tracking him down through Yuma Tsukumo.
• Jiang He hid Dr. Faker’s Sealing Card beneath Sphere Kuriboh and decided to save Hart, while Kite noticed the card and suspected it was connected to him.

Jiang He cured Hart Tenjo by sealing the harmful Underworld energy inside him, then pressured Dr. Faker to honor their deal. Later, while considering who could administer Heartland City, Jiang He thought of Lazar the clown as a possible candidate.

• Kite Tenjo agreed to hunt down Number Darkness Cards in exchange for Jiang He saving Hart.
• Kite brought Hart to Jiang He, who sealed the harmful energy inside Hart and said he would need time to recover.

• Jiang He considered hiring Lazar as Heartland City's temporary chief and filling vacant management positions.
• Camula revealed Dextra as the surprise she had prepared, and Dextra greeted Jiang He as the household's second maid.
• Jiang He realized Dextra and the sealed Nistro could manage businesses he had received from Dr. Faker.
• Dextra asked Jiang He to release Nistro so he could serve him, and Jiang He agreed if Nistro would work for him.

During an alchemy lesson, Jiang He acquired the Millennium Ring Mark and two underworld decks, then returned to his cabin for lunch. Reginald Kastle and Kite Tenjo arrived to relay messages and promise to repay their debts to him.

• Jiang He assigned Nistro to help Dextra manage the businesses Dr. Faker had traded him.
• Jiang He exchanged points for the Millennium Ring Mark, which Astral sensed briefly from across the classroom.
• Jiang He skipped Nistro's Heroic Champion deck and exchanged for the Legendary Gambler and Small Animal decks.
• Jiang He returned to his cabin with Alexis Rhodes, Akiza Izinski, and the others, where Jaden Yuki, Chazz Princeton, Yuma Tsukumo, and their companions gathered for a free meal.
• Reginald Kastle told Jiang He he would repay the money he had borrowed, and Kite Tenjo promised to hunt down the Number Darkness Cards he owed for Jiang He saving Hart.

Kite warned Jiang He and the others that a Barian emissary had manipulated Dr. Faker and might still be nearby, while Jiang He revealed that the Astral and Barian Worlds had both arrived from the future. The group learned about the Seven Barian Emperors, but before they could warn Chancellor Sheppard, he announced that another batch of Heartland Academy students had been admitted to Duel Academy.

• Kite told Jiang He and the others that a Barian emissary had used Dr. Faker to gather power for a weapon against the Astral World and might still be hiding nearby with Mr. Heartland.
• Jiang He revealed that Frozen Fitzgerald had confirmed the Astral and Barian Worlds had come from the future, and that chaotic energy had recently left the Barian World.
• Jiang He explained that the Barian World had seven emperors, though two had disappeared, leaving five known leaders; Alexis suggested warning Chancellor Sheppard.
• Chancellor Sheppard announced that Duel Academy had admitted another group of students from Heartland Academy with support from Director Lazar, surprising Yusei, Jack, Jaden and the others.

Jiang He recognized the disguised Barian Emperor Ray Shadows among the new freshmen and challenged him to a duel when Ray approached him. Ray agreed to protect his cover, and the chapter ended as he began the duel with a fake deck.

• Jiang He spotted Ray Shadows among the freshmen and sensed the same dark power as the Barian emissary who had abandoned Dr. Faker.
• Ray introduced himself as a Heartland freshman and asked Jiang He and Yuma Tsukumo to teach him, while Chazz Princeton and Tyranno Hassleberry reacted jealously.
• Jiang He invited Ray to duel so he could see his dueling spirit, and Ray agreed to avoid arousing suspicion and preserve his infiltration plan.

Jiang He defeated Ray Shadows again with Dark Sanctuary, then took Alexis and the others shopping while Ray stayed behind with Yuma. Back at the Slifer Red dorm, Jiang He found freshman Rio Kastle waiting for him.

• Ray Shadows gambled on another attack, but Dark Sanctuary tossed heads and negated it, draining his remaining Life Points with reflected damage.
• Jiang He won the Duel and told Ray he would need more special training before Jiang He acknowledged his Dueling spirit.
