Fireworks on the Ferris wheel
"It's okay, they shouldn't shout anymore... right?"
Sera hesitated before rejecting Herta's suggestion. Although he knew it was normal to shout out when you were scared, he didn't want to lose face.
Uh... he probably won't shout it out again, right?
Sera was a little unsure, because he had screamed at every roller coaster that wasn't as thrilling as the giant swing, though it was because he wasn't prepared...
However, soon after rising to the designated height, the robotic arm began the real 'game'. Sera felt dizzy and tried to control himself with his eyes closed, but the instinct of fear still made Sera scream.
"Ugh...!"
As soon as she uttered the first shout, Sera realized what was happening and covered her mouth.
As Miss Herta had said, she didn't laugh at all; her face simply showed an expression of having expected it.
As for Miss Herta herself—huh? She'd panic? How could she? This isn't even as unbearable as her experiments.
Miss Herta had an accident while researching space, which reversed her senses. Having experienced that kind of feeling before, how could she possibly not be able to tolerate this?
The feeling was that the head should be at the feet's position, meaning the body would only appear normal when it was upside down. During the time she was researching the antidote, Miss Herta was essentially walking backwards every day.
As Sera was being tossed around by the mechanical arms of the giant pendulum in the air, time seemed to stretch on forever, but thankfully... it finally ended.
The robotic arm slowly descended, Sera immediately jumped off his seat, feeling like a piece of clothing being washed in a washing machine.
What's next?
After calming herself down, Sera asked Miss Herta, who was waiting nearby.
"Check the time."
Miss Herta did not answer directly, but pointed to the tall clock not far away.
"Oh, it's noon already."
Sera hadn't been paying attention to time at all, and hadn't expected it to pass so quickly. Was it because she was with the Herta that she wasn't paying much attention?
"Ms. Herta, the restaurant has prepared freshly cooked dishes, just waiting for you and this... gentleman."
The staff member also came forward at this moment, but paused for a moment when he saw Sera's face, but still called him "Sir" as instructed.
"... well."
Sera was used to it, but even so, he still found it hard to accept. He had even been raised as a girl by the villagers of Elysia when he was a child, and only returned to normal after he expressed strong opposition.
Don't worry about it, after all, you do look like a young girl at first glance.
I thought so too when I saw you.
Herta's lips curled up almost imperceptibly.
She admitted that Sera's appearance, like hers, could be described as Beauty. When she first saw Sera in the Herta, she had a feeling that Sera was like a ray of moonlight shining into the world.
"Let's go, the food won't taste as good if it gets cold."
We really need to hurry up and leave. Sera nodded in agreement, determined not to deprive herself of her food.
So... what did they eat?
Sera was somewhat expectant.
As the two sat down in the restaurant, the chef came up with plates and placed them in front of each of them.
Then the lid was opened, revealing its true form.
"Well-done steak, please enjoy."
The chef finished speaking and left.
Steak? Sera has had it many times before, but the portion was a bit small, leaving her feeling half full and half not full, which was quite awkward.
But things are different now; this amount of food is simply not enough. Perhaps it's because of her appearance, Sera can now eat a lot, unlike her previous small appetite.
Don't worry, there's more if it's not enough.
After seeing Sera's appetite yesterday, Miss Herta naturally had plans for today. However, in order to preserve the best flavor, the chefs will start cooking at different times so that the food can be served immediately.
As she spoke, Miss Herta took out her knife and fork, elegantly cut a small piece of steak, and gently put it into her mouth.
Sera felt relieved after hearing Herta's words and began cutting the steak. Instead of eating it after each cut, he cut it into many small pieces.
Although Sera ate very quickly, she did not show the slightest sign of rudeness, as if she had been taught manners and it had become ingrained in her instincts.
The chef would serve the next dish at just the right moment when Sera finished eating. Sera was a little surprised, but when she saw Miss Herta next to her, she understood everything.
I've finished eating.
After finishing her third plate, Sera took out a napkin and wiped her mouth.
Let's go.
Miss Herta stood up and waited for Sera to walk beside her before continuing on her way.
Time always slips away silently and quickly in the moments we care about, but has time really sped up? No, it's just that because we care, our senses subconsciously slow down the time we perceive.
"So, that's the last item for today."
Herta and Sera stood in front of the magnificent Ferris wheel.
Ferris wheel.
Sera looked at the Ferris wheel, a smile playing on her lips.
He walked up to Miss Herta, extended his right hand, and gestured an invitation.
"Beautiful lady, would you mind riding the Ferris wheel with me?"
Although Herta was somewhat surprised by Sera's actions, he still cooperated by extending his right hand.
The staff member looked down at the floor, then at the dark sky.
Ah, this floor is really hard, and it's so dark outside!
He's in this state, he shouldn't be silenced, right?
Sera sat in the Ferris wheel, turning her head to look at the glass beside her. Under the light and shadow, Miss Herta's profile was clearly reflected in the glass. Her face was calm and confident, and her eyelashes fell silently, partially obscuring her amethyst-like pupils.
Seeing this, who could resist thinking to themselves how beautiful she is?
The Ferris wheel slowly rose, and Miss Herta finally looked up, her eyes fixed on the top. She had been looking down to see how much longer it would take for the Ferris wheel to reach its zenith.
"Herta."
"Um?"
Herta was puzzled as to why Sera would suddenly call out to her.
"Heh~"
Seeing the confused look on Herta's face, Sera chuckled softly.
"Who rides a Ferris wheel like that, not looking out the window... but instead looking down to see when we'll reach the highest point?"
"Now you've seen it, haven't you?"
Herta shrugged and then looked out the window.
"It's about to begin."
"Um?"
Now it was Sera's turn to be puzzled.
"I mean—the fireworks are about to start."
As soon as the words were spoken, dazzling fireworks burst in the night sky.
Sera paused for a moment, then quietly watched the fireworks outside, but tried to glance at the Herta out of the corner of her eye.
When his gaze finally fell upon Herta's face, Sera was somewhat stunned, even her peripheral vision became fixed on him.
The fireworks were reflected in Miss Herta's pupils, and Sera could even see the seriousness in her eyes.
Some people are watching the fireworks, while others are watching them through you.
Human life is like fireworks blooming in the night sky; it will eventually come to an end. Why not live it to the fullest?
(Because of the new regulations, coupled with increasingly worse data, I had originally planned to give up updating twice a day and switch to updating once every two days. I've been so busy writing the novel that I don't even have time to read it myself, and the new regulations have disgusted me.)
But think about it, once a promise is made, it must be fulfilled to the best of one's ability, just like Sera did.
I will still try my best to update every day.
