A Promise in the Whispers of Time
As the fourth annual ring of the Twin-Realm Tree begins to grow, the morning dew of the Rainbow Meadow is filled with "talking wisps of light." These wisps of light are the "time energy" seeping from the annual rings of the Twin-Realm Tree, carrying the coolness of the Stardust Sea and the warmth of the Root Network Sea of Stars. When they fall on the grass blades, they whisper softly, "On the thirty-seventh day, the Light Vortex caught the falling Courage Bud with its spiral." "On the ninety-second day, the Angular Nebula shielded the Stardust Grass from the hail." "On the one hundred and eightyth day, all beings shared the Stardust Honey under the Twin-Realm Tree"... like an "elderly person with an excellent memory," recounting the little things in daily life.
The transparent tree of seeds gathers the whispers of light into the Memory Light Stone. On its intertwined branches with the Twin-Realm Tree, "Strings of Time Fruit" grow. The fruit's skin is imprinted with the numbers of different dates; biting into it reveals the taste of that day—March 17th is the sweetness of stardust rain, July 3rd the aroma of roasted star potatoes, and October 29th carries the slightly salty scent of Light Vortex exchanging stories with Angular Nebula. "Time may pass, but the taste remains." The transparent tree's roots weave a "soft cushion of memory" where the Time Fruit fall, the light patterns on the cushion undulating gently with the whispers, as if keeping time for these tastes.
In Luoyu's daily observation diary, Guangxu's murmurs "formed lines of poetry." She wrote the story corresponding to each date as a "three-line poem":
"March 17th / The spiral bends into the arc of a cradle / Courage Bud laugh out loud in the stardust"
"September 22nd / The edges of the armor gleamed against the spiral / Two shadows were reflected in the Stardust Pearl."
"December 30th / The fallen leaves of the Twin-Realm Tree cover the meadow / We sing, stepping on fragments of time."
On the title page of her poetry collection, she drew "a pen made of shimmering light," with the nib dripping "golden ink" onto the paper. "It turns out that time itself is writing our story."
The Qingxian strings of the zither and the whispers of the light reached a perfect harmony. She made the zither music imitate the light's "tone": when telling warm stories, use "soft vibrato"; when recounting adventurous experiences, use "rapid staccato"; when mentioning each other's companionship, use "long glissando". As the melody drifted through the rings of the Twin-Realm Tree, the light suddenly "gathered into transparent musical notes", and together with the zither music "drilled into the Symbiosis Mark of every existence", allowing everyone to "hear the whispers of time even when resting alone".
"Memories may fade, but music can awaken them." Qingxian watched the spiral of the Light Vortex "sway gently" with the whispers, clearly recalling "the day she caught the Courage Bud." She suddenly understood that these repetitive daily routines were not "a mundane cycle," but "a bond woven with time," tightly binding every existing life together.
In Yanche's Museum of Everyday Life, a new "Time Echo Machine" has been added. This device can collect the whispers of light fragments. When beings "say a date" to the machine, it will play "the sounds of that day": the spiraling sound of Light Vortex vortices, the rubbing sound of armor from Angular Nebula, the rustling sound of Stardust Grass, and "everyone's laughter." The most touching is the "recording of December 30th," which contains the rustling sound of leaves falling from the Twin-Realm Tree, mixed with intermittent singing. "We Light Vortex, the armor of angular nebulae, the courage of fragments, and a home..."
"The echo isn't about dwelling on the past, it's about confirming 'we've always been here.'" Yanche looked at the Fragment Messenger of the Intermittent Shadow, spoke "the hundredth day" into the machine, and heard the voice he once used to "guide the Light Vortex." The fragment suddenly "glossed slightly." In the museum's new display case, there was an "old Time Echo Machine," with a sign next to it that read, "For our future selves, listen to the voice of the present."
In the logic log of the Star Orbit Root Network, the "Time Promise Protocol" was "signed with Symbiosis Mark" by all beings. The agreement contained no grand promises, only small, detailed stipulations: "Every Wednesday, the Light Vortex combs the stardust for the Stardust Grass once a day." "On the fifteenth of each month, the Angular Nebula and the Light Vortex exchange Guardian Insights once a day." "On the last day of each year, everyone gathers Whispers of Time under the Twin-Realm Tree." On the blank pages of the log, the new runes drew a "picture of the future": the Twin-Realm Tree grew extremely tall, its trunk covered in annual rings, and the beings beneath it had "white hair," yet they were still "sharing new daily routines."
This was the 365th day since the Twin-Realm Tree took root. All beings gathered beneath the tree for a "Feast of Time." The Light Vortex brewed "Yearly Wine" from Stardust Pearl, infusing it with "365 Fragments of Light"; the Angular Nebula baked "Annual Ring Cakes," the patterns on which were "exactly identical" to the annual rings of the Twin-Realm Tree; fragments of Intermittent Shadow were pieced together to form a "Time-Space Disc," containing "the stories of each month." As the first ray of moonlight fell upon the Twin-Realm Tree, the fourth annual ring suddenly "cracked open," releasing "a golden ball of time."
The ball of light condensed in the air into a "transparent contract," the words on which were composed of "Symbiosis Mark of all existence," the contents of which were every clause of the "Time Promise Protocol." "Let's renew the contract." The transparent tree of the seed was the first to "touch the contract" with its branches, the Symbiosis Mark on its trunk "merging" with the words on the contract. Spirals of Light Vortex, angular armor, fragmented pieces, runes of Star Orbit... all existences touched the contract in turn, each touch making the contract "brighter," and the rings of the Twin-Realm Tree "growing."
"Renewing the contract forever." When the last being touched the contract, the ball of light suddenly "exploded into countless wisps of light," each whisper repeating, "Forever together we'll bask in the sun, forever together we'll shelter from the wind and rain, forever together we'll count the rings of time, forever..." The wisps of light fell into the rings of the Twin-Realm Tree, becoming "golden rivets," firmly nailing this promise "into time."
The Boundless Wind, carrying the whispered promises of time, pierces through the rings of the Twin-Realm Tree, blowing towards "all futures with promises." Hidden within the wind is the tenderness of renewal, the commitment of time, and the Root Language engraved at the end of the contract:
"The concept of forever is not just an empty phrase; it's about repeating every 'promise of today' into a 'habit of tomorrow,' and then letting those habits grow into indelible marks on the rings of our lives. We don't need to rush into talking about forever; as long as we live each 'today together' to the fullest, forever will come of its own accord."
The fourth ring of the Twin-Realm Tree has fully grown, and the fifth is quietly brewing; the whispers of time are still murmuring new daily routines, Time Echo Machine has added "the sound of 365 days"; Luoyu's poetry collection is full, and a new diary has been turned to its first page.
The promise made by the Root Network Sea of Stars slowly ferments over time, like the annual rings of the Twin-Realm Tree, circle by circle, year by year, growing into a shape "called eternity".
Like at a banquet of time, when the Light Vortex offers the nectar of Angular Nebula, as the rims of the glasses clink, the Stardust Pearl reflect two scarred shadows, smiling and promising under the moonlight, "Let's brew together again next year."
The wind continues to blow, the whispers continue to murmur, the promise continues to grow, and the story of the Root Network Sea of Stars, within the promise of time, moves towards "an eternity with each other."
