The Mist of Migration, the Flow of Conviction, and the Transformation of the End
The energy cloud in the Migration Plane is shrinking at a rate visible to the naked eye.
This plane, composed of flowing energy, should have been able to move freely through the star clusters like migratory birds, maintaining the energy balance between different regions through its movement. But now, the energy clouds are shrouded in a thick layer of gray mist, the once vibrant colors have become dim, and countless tiny energy streams collide and dissipate in the mist, as if they have lost their way.
"Messenger Two" hovered at the edge of the energy cloud. Through the porthole, Tang Nian saw the inhabitants of the Migration Plane —those "vagrants" made of light and shadow—trapped in the mist. Their figures flickered in and out of focus, and every time they tried to break out of the mist, they were pulled back by an invisible force, and their energy was lost along with them.
"The Echo of the End have created a ' Looping Labyrinth ' here." On Lan Che's monitoring screen, the energy cloud's flow trajectory presented a bizarre circular pattern. "No matter which direction the nomads move in, they will eventually return to their starting point. The 'fluid balance' upon which they depend for survival has been completely locked."
The balancing principle of the Migration Plane is "Dynamic Symbiosis." They are not fixed in a certain region, but migrate according to the energy tides of the star clusters, bringing excess energy to scarce regions, like the "energy blood" of the star clusters. But now, the Looping Labyrinth has turned this flow into futile circles, and the energy distribution inside the energy cloud is becoming increasingly unbalanced, with some regions beginning to show black voids of depleted energy.
"The Belief Core is 'trust in the unknown'," Tang Nian analyzed the nomads' energy fluctuations. "The nomads believe that as long as they keep moving, they will always find a new balance. But the Echo of the End distorts this trust, turning 'movement' into 'repetition,' shaking their belief in migration itself."
In the transmitted image, the "guide" of the Migration Plane —an old man composed of seven-colored light—was weakly suspended at the core of an energy cloud. The light emanating from him had dimmed to almost invisible, and his voice was filled with deep weariness. "We have tried all the migration routes we've taken before, even opened up new channels, but each time we return to the starting point. This is not a maze, it's a curse... Flow cannot bring balance; all our efforts are in vain."
Tang Nian noticed a flicker of smugness in the gray mist when the guide mentioned "futile efforts." She suddenly understood that the goal of the Echo of the End was not to trap the Migration Plane, but to destroy their belief in "finding balance in flux," making them believe that "stillness is the only destiny."
"You've mistaken 'route' for 'the essence of movement'," Tang Nian said firmly into the communicator. "The meaning of migration isn't about arriving at a certain place, but about connecting with everything encountered during the journey. Even if the route is cyclical, these connections can still create a new balance."
To prove this, she piloted "Messenger Two" into the gray mist. The warship indeed became trapped in a loop, always returning to the edge of the energy cloud no matter which direction it flew. But Tang Nian didn't give up. She had Lan Che record the vagrants encountered in each loop, releasing a wisp of Chaos Energy as a "marker" each time they passed an area of depleted energy.
After three cycles, something miraculous happened. The nomads marked by the Chaos Energy, while still circling, began to transfer energy to each other at the marked points—nomads in energy-depleted areas condensed their remaining energy into orbs of light and handed them to passing companions; nomads in energy-rich areas injected their excess energy into the orbs of light, making them brighter and brighter in the cycle.
"Look!" Tang Nian pointed to the trajectory of the light orb on the screen. Although the orb moved in a cycle, it formed a closed energy ring, with each point on the ring receiving and transmitting energy. "Even though the path is cyclical, the energy is still flowing! This is the new balance—creating connections in repetition, making the cycle itself a channel for energy exchange!"
A renewed light shone in the guide's eyes. Dragging his weakened body, he flew to the center of the energy ring and poured his last of his seven-colored light into it. The light orb instantly erupted with dazzling brilliance, piercing through the gray mist and forming a massive "Looping Energy Network" within the energy cloud.
The nomads suddenly realized that instead of focusing on escaping the maze, they had set up countless "energy stations" along the loop route. Each station was like a heart, receiving energy from upstream and transmitting it downstream, thus revitalizing the previously stagnant energy cloud.
The most breathtaking change occurred within the gray mist. As the light of the Looping Energy Network reached its peak, the Echo of the End within the mist ceased its attempts to obstruct it. Instead, it began to absorb the network's light, and the grayness gradually faded, revealing flowing, colorful patterns within—patterns that perfectly aligned with the network's trajectory, as if the Echo of the End was learning this "balance within the cycle."
"It's transforming!" Lan Che's detector emitted a sharp alarm. On the screen, the energy structure of the Echo of the End was reorganizing, a flowing warmth blending into the icy emptiness. "It has absorbed the Balance Mark of the Migration Plane and is transforming from a 'destroyer' into a 'participant'!"
Tang Nian gripped the Blade of Chaos tightly, and the imprint of the Migration Plane within the blade resonated with the energy of the Echo of the End. She suddenly understood that the robed figure's words, "Balance and the end are two sides of the same primordial origin," were not empty words—the essence of the end was not devouring, but rather completing the transformation of energy in a cycle, just as the energy of the Migration Plane is redistributed in a cycle.
When the gray mist completely dissipated, the energy cloud of the Migration Plane had transformed into a massive ring of light. Within this ring, the figures of nomads moved freely through the loop, their faces beaming with unprecedented joy. The Echo of the End transformed into a flowing beam of colored light, merging into the energy network of the ring and becoming part of the energy cycle, making the ring's radiance even more dazzling.
"We did it..." The guide's voice choked with emotion, his seven-colored light reborn in the energy network, brighter than ever before. "So balance isn't about escaping the cycle, but about finding your place within it, becoming a bridge connecting us all."
When Tang Nian left the Migration Plane, a ring-shaped mark appeared in his Blade of Chaos. The inner side of the mark was the flowing light of the wanderers, and the outer side was the radiant light of the end after transformation. The two surrounded each other, forming a perfect ring of balance.
"The Echo of the End is no longer a threat." Lan Che looked at the star map; the colorful light was slowly moving along the energy ligaments of the Balance Star Cluster towards its center. "It is searching for its final resting place."
Tang Nian looked towards the direction of Heaven Dou City, where the light of the Temple of Balance echoed the ring of light of the Migration Plane. She knew that the Trial of the End was about to come to an end, but this end was not the end, but the beginning of the transformation of the Balance Star Cluster —when the destroyers become participants, when the cycle becomes the connecting link, the story of balance will enter a brand new era.
Messenger Two's course shifted towards the center of the Balance Star Cluster. In the starry sky, the ring of light from the Migration Plane, the two-colored light from the Prism Plane, and the Emotional Gravity from the Star-Ring Plane intertwined, forming a Web of Balance that spanned the star cluster. And that transformed, final, colorful light was slowly moving along this net towards the starting point of all beliefs— Heaven Dou City.
Tang Nian and Lan Che felt no fear, only boundless anticipation for the future. They knew that when the colorful light of the end met the radiance of Heaven Dou City, the Balance Star Cluster would shine with unprecedented brilliance, writing the most magnificent balance legend since the birth of the Primordial Plane.
