Personality
Ye Han is confident in his strength and trait, expecting to reach the tournament finals and challenging Chu Ge to meet him there. After his defeat, Chu Ge attributes his poor performance partly to overreliance on an ability that had previously gone unbeaten: once Chu Ge repeatedly blocked his attacks, Ye Han began doubting his trait and fighting more cautiously 24 25.
Despite his teasing treatment of Yang Wei, Ye Han exercises restraint. He deliberately kicks his desk mate's backside rather than his head, recognizing that a head strike could incapacitate him. He also refuses to use his trait on family members, considering it rude 24.
Abilities & Skills
Single-Person Blind Spot
A three-star trait that conceals Ye Han from one designated person, blocking direct perception rather than making him universally invisible 23.
- Sensory suppression: The target cannot see, hear, smell, or sense his aura; Yang Wei describes the effect as blocking all five senses 23.
- Equipment concealment: His clothing and held objects are concealed along with him. When Chu Ge knocks his saber away, the weapon becomes visible while Ye Han remains hidden 23 25.
- Activation requirement: Ye Han must be within the chosen target's line of sight when activating the trait 23.
- Usage limit: Three activations per day, with no duration limit 23.
- Unaffected observers: Other people can still see him, and cameras can record him 23.
- Automatic cancellation: The effect ends when he loses consciousness 25.
Limitations and Counters
- Air displacement remains detectable: Moving and swinging a weapon still disturb the surrounding air. Chu Ge uses his body-refining-enhanced senses to track these disturbances through his skin, particularly effectively inside the enclosed venue 25.
- Concealment does not prevent contact: Chu Ge blocks Ye Han's saber, disarms him, and strikes him without directly seeing or hearing him 25.
- Area attacks are a potential counter: Lin Luyin considers indiscriminate arena-wide attacks, while Chu Ge initially considers confining Ye Han with [Draw a Circle as a Prison]. Neither approach is used against him 24 25.
Close-Quarters Combat
- Saber combat: Ye Han attacks with a long saber, including powerful overhead cuts 25.
- Kicking: He repeatedly strikes Yang Wei while concealed, ultimately kicking him out of the arena 24.
- Cultivation foundation: Chu Ge judges Ye Han's foundation and cultivation technique comparable to his own, with both at the hundredth level of Qi and Blood 25.
Equipment / Weapons / Items
- Saber — Described as a broadsword against Yang Wei and a long saber against Chu Ge. Chu Ge knocks it from his hand during their match 24 25.
- Costly antidote — Consumed after his match with Yang Wei 24.
Story Role / Major Arcs
Prior Match with Yang Wei
Before the East Sea Martial Arts School Competition, Ye Han had already defeated his classmate and desk mate Yang Wei. That loss leaves Yang Wei wary of facing him again, despite possessing his own three-star [Poison Gas] trait 22 23 24.
East Sea Martial Arts School Competition
Ye Han enters as one of the Ye Martial Arts School's two representatives and its strongest championship hope. In his opening match, he activates [Single-Person Blind Spot], leaving Yang Wei swinging at empty air. He holds back from targeting Yang Wei's head and wins by kicking him off the platform 22 24 25.
Afterward, Ye Han approaches Chu Ge and proposes meeting in the finals. Instead, they are paired immediately in the second elimination round 24.
Against Chu Ge, his concealment initially works as intended, but Chu Ge tracks his movements through disturbed airflow. Ye Han tests whether Chu Ge can hear him, confirms that the trait is still functioning, and continues attacking. Chu Ge disarms him, then uses [Instant] at eightfold speed to sweep him out of the arena 25.
Ye Han is left pale, bleeding at the mouth, and unconscious. Medical personnel carry him away, and Yang Wei later reports that he remains hospitalized. Chu Ge expects that the final blow, despite being restrained, has broken several bones 25.
Relationships
- Yang Wei — Classmate, desk mate, and repeat opponent. Ye Han defeats him before the competition and again in its opening round, provoking Yang Wei to ask Chu Ge for revenge 22 24.
- Chu Ge — Tournament rival who defeats him in the second elimination round. Ye Han had expected their encounter to occur in the finals 24 25.
- Ye Weiyu — Younger cousin. He refuses to practice his trait on her out of respect for family; she supports both him and Chu Ge during their match 24 25.
