Now it looked as though a hole had opened up in a pile of corpses. It was a mountain of corpses and a sea of ghosts.

How had this cramped cave held so many corpses?

Unlike Zhang Mao, who feared the fierce ghosts, Daoist Priest Simu had nothing but hatred in his eyes.

He endured the searing pain from his hand without a change in expression, staring fixedly at the two shadows moving through the darkness.

His eyes glittered, and he could make out the outlines of the figures moving in the darkness nearby.

They were two completely different figures.

The figure walking behind was hunched over, with an abnormally massive frame that looked deformed and grotesque in the cramped cave. One shoulder was higher than the other.

The hand dragging countless corpses behind it was noticeably thick and large, while its other arm was withered and thin.

Looking at the figure dragging the corpses, Daoist Priest Simu tightened his grip on his broken peachwood sword. A tear rolled down his cheek.

If not for his moment of recklessness, that old baldy Huijue would never have died at the hands of this damned Ghost Hand.

Back then, Huijue had clearly said he wouldn't save him, yet in the end he had still shielded him from that fatal calamity.

Watching helplessly as the damned fierce ghost was about to vanish from sight, Daoist Priest Simu gritted his teeth and struggled to sit up. But the severe blood loss had drained all his strength, leaving none of the high spirits he had shown before entering the cave.

Just then, another figure walked out of the darkness at an unhurried pace, its face impossible to see.

As Zhang Mao shrank back in fear toward the priest, the figure stopped and spoke:

"Zhang Mao? Just as I thought, you're hiding somewhere and playing dead again."

"Is that Daoist Priest Simu beside you? He's actually still alive."

Jiang Li spoke calmly, carrying a fierce ghost's arm in his hand. He had snatched it from the Corpse-Dragging Ghost.

"Jiang Li, you really are still alive!" The moment Zhang Mao saw Jiang Li, more than half the fear in his heart vanished.

He pointed sadly at what remained of Daoist Priest Simu's mangled, bloody hand. "The priest isn't going to make it. A ghost took his hand off."

Jiang Li glanced at Daoist Priest Simu, who was slumped on the ground, and nodded slightly. He said in a low voice:

"I understand."

With that, Jiang Li walked up to Daoist Priest Simu and placed the blackened arm of the fierce ghost in front of him.

"I'm not a doctor, but I might have a way to save your life. It depends on whether you're willing to accept it."

Daoist Priest Simu tilted his head back and drew several ragged breaths, then gritted his teeth and said:

"Do it."

Hearing that, Jiang Li wasted no more words. He took a dagger from his pocket and began measuring it against Daoist Priest Simu's shoulder.

It was an incredibly risky move. If he did not remember someone having tried it and succeeded in the end, Jiang Li would never have considered attaching this fierce ghost's arm to a person.

Zhang Mao watched in terror, his eyelids twitching wildly.

"You're going to cut off the priest's arm and attach this dead person's arm to him? How could that possibly work?!"

"Take his Daoist robe off for me. It's covered in blood and will get in my way," Jiang Li said quietly. "The priest has lost too much blood to make it out of the cave. This arm is his only chance of survival."

Zhang Mao froze, then hurried over and carefully pulled aside and removed what remained of the tattered robe.

The moment the robe came off, Jiang Li placed the dagger against Daoist Priest Simu's shoulder and murmured:

"Priest, you should count yourself lucky. I've already found two other dormant fierce ghosts and satisfied that thing's needs. Otherwise, you wouldn't have gotten this arm."

By now, Daoist Priest Simu barely had the strength to answer. His whole body had even begun to go limp, and his pupils were gradually starting to lose focus.

In a hazy trance, he seemed to see the old monk he had fought with for most of his life, tapping a wooden fish. Its sound was deep, giving him an utterly peaceful feeling.

Suddenly, the old monk Huijue stopped what he was doing and shook his head, looking deeply regretful.

"Damn Four Eyes, why are you about to kick the bucket so soon too? If you go on like this, wouldn't I have saved you for nothing? Pull yourself together..."

The corners of Daoist Priest Simu's mouth twitched. He seemed to have something to say, but he no longer had the strength.

Just as he slowly closed his eyes and prepared to accept death.

A sharp pain like a dull knife cutting through flesh suddenly shot through his shoulder, jolting him much more awake almost instantly.

"This is my first time doing something like this too, so it's normal that I lack skill and experience. If you want to live, bear with it."

As Jiang Li spoke, he forcefully made a second cut.

Blood sprayed everywhere, frightening Zhang Mao into curling up at the side again, trembling.

Only after joining the cold arm to Daoist Priest Simu did Jiang Li finally breathe a sigh of relief.

The moment the severed end of the arm touched Daoist Priest Simu's wound, it began to wriggle rapidly. All five fingers twisted incessantly, as though the fierce ghost were about to revive.

Jiang Li merely gave a soft, cold snort.

The next moment, a pale hand emerged from the black shadow on the ground and interlocked all ten fingers with the restless hand, making for an extremely bizarre sight.

The suppression was quite effective, however. At least the arm had stopped its eerie wriggling.

Only then did Jiang Li realize that the arm he had brought back seemed to belong to a female ghost.

One minute later.

"Jiang Li, the priest doesn't seem to be responding. What do we do now?"

Curled up against the rock wall nearby, Zhang Mao asked Jiang Li in a low voice.

Jiang Li glanced at Daoist Priest Simu, who was half lying on the ground, then said:

"Check if he's still breathing. If he is, look after him. I'm leaving now. If you run into danger, remember to run."

With that, Jiang Li rose from the ground, intending to leave at once.

Seeing this, Zhang Mao grew anxious and asked in confusion:

"It's so dark here. If you just wander around, you'll never get out. Have you already found the way out?"

"No, I'm not looking for the way out. We're inside a Ghost Domain. There's no way we can walk out of it."

Jiang Li said.

"I don't know when it happened, but I can feel that my crow is indeed gone. That's definitely not a good sign. It seems that ghost has set its sights on it, or perhaps it has set its sights on that ghost."

"This feeling is very similar to a certain wish-granting fierce ghost I encountered last time. I can't just sit by and do nothing."

"What are you talking about? I don't understand," Zhang Mao asked, bewildered.

"You don't need to know too much. It wouldn't mean much to you," Jiang Li said. "You just need to know that the ghost in the cave is currently looking for something of mine. It won't actively hunt anyone else for the time being."

"Staying here is your safest choice. If I succeed, you'll all naturally live. If I fail, you can just wait to die."

With that, Jiang Li walked back into the darkness and took out the wooden box.

After a full three fierce ghosts had been placed inside, the box's exterior had not visibly changed, but its interior was completely different.

Inside the opening was no longer the cramped square space it had once been, but a space that extended downward.

Seen from outside, it looked like a square basement. Three of its walls each had a half-closed door leading somewhere unknown, while the wall without a door had a pitch-black hole leading into an endless abyss.

Jiang Li guessed that the hole was for throwing away corpses and ghosts.

On the brown floor, a line of large black characters remained:

[When you come here, everything will become predestined]

In the center of the basement stood an old wooden table covered in unrecognizable writing. The item that had once been on it had been taken away, but the note remained.

[Ghost Crow Mask: a bizarre mask covered in ink-black feathers. It is closely connected to a certain flock of Ghost Crows, or perhaps a single Ghost Crow] [After putting on the mask, the wearer can share the vision and Ghost Domain of other Ghost Crows. The strength of the Ghost Domain will increase with the number of Ghost Crows] [Before the main body of the Ghost Crow has been fully controlled, the other Ghost Crows will follow the same killing pattern as the main body.]

After giving the inside of the box a cursory inspection, Jiang Li put it away again and put on the Ghost Crow Mask he held.

As soon as he put on the mask, three distinct human figures appeared in the darkness of the cave, each at a location far from the others.

Seeing this, Jiang Li narrowed his eyes slightly.

Three appeared at once. What exactly is that Ghost Crow trying to do?

Suddenly, Jiang Li noticed that one of the figures was lying prone at what looked like the cave entrance, completely motionless. He could not tell exactly what it was doing.

Meanwhile, outside the cave entrance.

The night was dark, with still very little light.

A man in a suit stood warily in place, staring intently into the darkness inside the cave. In his hand was a short stub of a red Ghost Candle that had nearly burned out.

"Better a fellow Daoist die than this poor Daoist. That ghost was too terrifying. Everyone in the cave, you'd better pray for your own luck."

"I hope that crazy woman is dead by now. Otherwise, judging by the way she acted, she'll definitely come after me for a fight to the death when she gets out."

As he was thinking this, he suddenly saw what looked like a person lying prone at the cave entrance.

Judging by the outline emerging from the darkness, it should have been Jiang Li.

Seeing this, He Tianxiong sighed somewhat helplessly and said in a low voice:

"Brother Jiang, it's not that I'm standing by and letting you die. The Ghost Candle I have is used up, and I can't bring you out of the Ghost Domain. When you get out of the cave, I, He, will do my best to make it up to you."

He Tianxiong looked deeply pained. He even took out his phone at once and dialed a number.

"In my name, transfer two billion to the account of that newcomer named Jiang Li."

"If you can't find him, send it to his agent. Be quick about it."

After hanging up, He Tianxiong immediately felt a little more at ease and prepared to move farther away from the cave.

But suddenly, the figure in the cave raised its head and looked above He Tianxiong.

This immediately triggered the killing pattern of He Tianxiong's Person-Treading Ghost. The terrifying, chilling corpse once again stepped down from He Tianxiong's shoulder and walked stiffly toward the cave.

Seeing this, He Tianxiong had an extremely bad feeling.

The instant the corpse stepped into the cave entrance, a pitch-black hand covered in calluses reached out from the side and clamped around the Person-Treading Ghost's neck.

The Person-Treading Ghost immediately went still, as though it had become a real corpse.

"My ghost was taken away by another ghost. How is that possible?!"

He Tianxiong could no longer keep still. He hurriedly drew his gun and fired toward the cave entrance.

But the golden bullets did little good. After entering the darkness, they were like shots fired into cotton, making no sound at all.

He Tianxiong stood rooted to the spot and watched as his ghost was slammed to the ground, then dragged into the darkness.

"..."

At that, the figure lying at the cave entrance slowly retreated deeper into the cave, as though it had achieved some purpose, leaving He Tianxiong alone, staring blankly.

Only now did he realize that the figure was definitely not Jiang Li.

Looking at the pitch-black cave entrance, which had returned to deathly silence, He Tianxiong's expression shifted, and a fierce struggle arose in his heart.

If he really lost the Person-Treading Ghost, his standing in the Friend Circle would plummet. The enemies he had made in the past would probably be itching to take action as well, ready to tear a chunk of flesh from him.
