Selling Monster Materials
After traveling along the abandoned highway for a while, Li Jing soon saw the outline of Warrior Supply Base No. 004 ahead.
The towering walls separated the inside and outside of the Supply Base into two entirely different worlds.
At the sight of Warrior Supply Base No. 004, Li Jing quickened his pace.
"Stop. Please present your warrior credentials before entering!"
A different group of soldiers was now on duty at the entrance. Their dark gun barrels pointed at Li Jing as one of them spoke, his face wary.
At the same time, the Vulcan cannons atop the wall quietly trained on the area.
Li Jing had done his homework and knew this was standard procedure for entering and leaving the Warrior Supply Base. His expression unchanged, he promptly showed them his credentials.
"Beginner Warrior Li Jing, verification complete. Welcome back to Warrior Supply Base No. 004!"
The soldier on duty put away his weapon, a trace of respect appearing on his face. He saluted Li Jing before speaking.
Because warriors often fought on the front lines against monsters to defend the Base Cities, they held a prominent position in society and were highly respected.
Even after Luo Feng began providing Purple Light Dew on a large scale, warriors were still a minority. It would take time for them to gradually become more common.
Li Jing nodded and entered the Supply Base.
As the young soldier watched Li Jing walk away, he suddenly remembered that the verification information he had just seen listed Li Jing as only a Beginner Warrior.
A Beginner Warrior going into the Wilderness Zone alone?
He probably hasn't had his title certified in a long time, and his strength has already reached the Advanced Warrior level. Otherwise, how would he dare go into the Wilderness Zone alone?
This warrior named Li Jing really knows how to keep his cool. If it were me, I'd probably rush to get the corresponding title certified as soon as my strength met the requirements.
The young soldier marveled to himself.
Li Jing had no idea what the soldier had been thinking. Instead of returning to the townhouse he had previously been assigned to rest up, he went elsewhere.
He went straight to the purchasing manager stationed by the HR Alliance at Warrior Supply Base No. 004.
Compared with other factions that purchased monster materials, the HR Alliance offered the highest prices.
"May I ask your surname, young brother? You look a little unfamiliar. Have you only recently started operating in the Wilderness Zone covered by Warrior Supply Base No. 004?"
"My name is Yang Lin. I'm the purchasing manager for the HR Alliance at Supply Base No. 004. You can just call me Old Yang, young brother."
Manager Yang was a middle-aged man with a goatee. He showed no sign of looking down on Li Jing because of his youthful face, and instead became even more affable.
At his level, he already had established channels for purchasing monster materials and worked with many warrior squads.
Although Li Jing was young and might not be particularly strong, youth meant great potential.
If he established a good working relationship with Li Jing now, there might well be opportunities to do business once Li Jing grew stronger.
He had known several of his major clients for many years.
"My surname is Li. Manager Yang, I have some monster materials here. Could you appraise them for me? If the price is right, I'll sell them to you."
As Li Jing spoke, he set the tactical backpack he had been carrying on the floor. It landed with an extremely heavy thud; clearly, the backpack was far from light.
Manager Yang's smile grew even brighter. It seemed the young client before him was more than just a promising prospect-he could already bring in substantial business.
"All right, Brother Li, please wait a moment while I appraise them."
With that, he ushered Li Jing to the tea table and said something into the button-style intercom on his collar.
Soon, two attractive female tea servers came in from outside to brew tea for Li Jing and help him unwind.
Manager Yang himself opened Li Jing's tactical backpack.
The sight of the tightly packed core monster materials inside hit him at once. His heart skipped half a beat, and his breathing grew considerably heavier.
The entire backpack was filled with materials from Beast General Level monsters, without a single piece from a Beast Soldier.
What was more, they were the most valuable parts of those Beast General Level monsters.
The slightly lesser materials, though still worth a great deal, apparently had not even qualified for a place in the backpack.
If this young warrior surnamed Li had hunted them all himself, just how strong was he?
After a brief moment of shock and wild delight, Manager Yang did not forget his job.
He took the monster materials out of Li Jing's backpack one by one, identifying them and determining their value.
"The tail tendons of a Junior Beast General Level Twin-Tailed Tiger Cat, worth 3.6 million in Huaxia Currency."
"The pelt of a Junior Beast General Level Shar-Pei Rat, worth 2.1 million in Huaxia Currency."
"The venom sac of an Intermediate Beast General Level Red-Eyed Poisonous Lizard, worth 22 million in Huaxia Currency."
"The paws of a Junior Beast General Level Rock-Armored Giant Bear, worth 4.8 million in Huaxia Currency."
"Brother Li, you have core materials from 121 Beast General Level monsters in total: 37 Intermediate Beast Generals and 84 Junior Beast Generals. The core materials are worth a total of 1.3652 billion in Huaxia Currency."
After counting everything, Manager Yang gave the final price. Even the hand he used to work the calculator trembled slightly.
121 Beast General Level monsters!
What a terrifying number!
A War General Level squad would probably have to spend an entire year in the Wilderness Zone without a single day off to have a chance of hunting that many, wouldn't they?
"Mm, that's fine."
Before coming here, Li Jing had already estimated the value of the materials. Knowing that Manager Yang's price was reasonably fair, he nodded in agreement.
Once the transaction was complete, 1.3652 billion in Huaxia Currency was soon deposited into Li Jing's personal account.
Including the 4 million he had left from before, his balance was 1.3692 billion in Huaxia Currency!
And this was only part of what Li Jing had gained from this trip to the Wilderness Zone.
The core materials from a Beast General Level monster accounted for roughly forty percent of the value of all the materials on its body.
In other words, Li Jing still had a fortune greater than 1.3 billion in Huaxia Currency left in the Wilderness Zone, waiting to be sold!
"I've received the money. Manager Yang, do you have a larger tactical backpack here? How much is it? I'll take one."
After confirming that the money had arrived, Li Jing spoke again.
Manager Yang was delighted. "Yes, of course I do! Don't worry about the price. Consider it a gift, Brother Li. After all, you're one of my major clients!"
Yang Lin had been wondering why the bag contained only core materials from Beast General Level monsters and nothing else.
As it turned out, this major client, this god of slaughter, had hunted too many Beast General monsters in a short time for his tactical backpack to hold them all. Now he needed another backpack to go back and bring more out.
This was good news. He could add another deal to his sales total!
With the sales he had already accumulated, these two deals might even allow him to meet his annual target ahead of schedule.
Anything he sold after that would be extra credit!
What was one backpack compared to maintaining a good relationship with such a major client?
"In that case, sorry for the trouble."
Naturally, Li Jing was happy to save some money.
Soon, Li Jing left Warrior Supply Base No. 004 once more, carrying two empty backpacks as he headed for County Town No. 156.
Meanwhile, the Military officer in charge at Warrior Supply Base No. 004 also noticed the records of Li Jing's entry and departure. Remembering that someone had spoken to him about Li Jing before, he hurriedly sent a message to report it.
