First Arrival in Qinmeng
The Qinmeng Empire had fallen more than sixty years ago. Although Ludan Port had been a major port at the time, many years had passed since then, and no one had maintained it. The entire port was in a state of disrepair.
Seawater-corroded iron plates covered the entrance to the port, riddled with holes where they had been crushed underfoot.
In the distance, the roofs of several buildings had collapsed, leaving only their white walls.
Concrete utility poles stood alone. No wires remained strung between them, only rusty traces.
Two hours after Zhang Xuezhou regained consciousness, the passenger ship began to dock, giving him a view of Qinmeng's desolate, dilapidated scenery.
Before he could take it all in, someone aboard the ship flung out a grappling hook and snagged a hole in an iron plate. Without waiting for the ship to reach the dock, the person flew out like a bird.
"Someone's racing to grab a vehicle. But we don't need to be the fastest; we just need to be one step ahead of most people!"
Wang Haoran pointed at the person.
But Wang Haoran was quick himself.
Still four or five meters from the landing, he leaped forcefully from the ship and dropped from a height of more than ten meters.
The ship was moving very slowly by then, but few people had both the courage and the ability to jump.
"Zhang Xuezhou, you people have no martial virtue! You actually asked Professor Wang to lead your team!"
Zuo Teng wore a skintight outfit and carried no luggage. Clearly, he too was ready to search Ludan Port the moment he landed.
But while Wang Haoran dared to jump early, Zuo Teng did not have the nerve.
A good jump would give him a head start in searching for vehicles
