Thoughts on Going Premium
I had wanted to talk with everyone in this note about what inspired me to write this novel, and explain a few related things, but after I caught COVID on the 27th, everything became a struggle. Chills, muscle aches, headaches, fatigue, a swollen, sore throat, a blocked nose, a cough-I didn't miss a single one. Even breathing hurt, and everything I had previously planned to say was wiped from my head.
Once COVID struck, it took out the whole nest. The entire family caught it, including the baby, who is a little over two months old and has symptoms too. The baby cried all night, and the past few days have been really hard.
I never expected modern media to turn a highly infectious disease into entertainment, with names like "the big eater strain" and "the study strain." It seems no different from the Japanese turning nuclear contamination into cartoons.
Some people are even anxious about why they haven't caught COVID, as though they don't fit in if they haven't. Folks, isn't it good not to be sick? Who hopes to get sick?
Although COVID is hard to avoid, please don't let your guard down by treating it as entertainment. If you can put off catching it, do so. After all, nobody says that catching it once means you won't catch it a second time, and there are also many variant strains.
How to protect your own health and your family's may be the most important thing for the next few years. I hope everyone takes proper care of themselves.
