Liberating Laiyata City
"Boom"
The military base outside Leiata began its bombardment at the pre-set time.
Speaker Gongyi Xingguangyu quickly deployed rockets, which, combined with the military base's outdated launch equipment, had a range of about seventy kilometers.
The longest-range rocket artillery currently available only has a range of just over 200 kilometers.
When the target cannot be effectively aimed, the length of the range is meaningless to many.
Even close-range artillery bombardment is difficult to effectively hit the target; the greatest significance of this strike lies in the coverage provided by the dense rocket artillery barrage.
If even one of the two hundred rockets hits the target, that's considered a victory.
When the goal shifted from hunting complete ferocious beasts to physically eliminating them, large-scale firearms came into use.
With a deafening roar, the rocket launcher on the launch pad shot into the air, trailing jets of flame.
"They've been launched! Will these rockets hit Saati and Saam?"
When Turkalando once again uttered the inappropriate form of address, Ren Anran, unusually, did not get angry.
Her gaze, equally anxious, turned toward the city of Leiata.
Aside from someone like Zhou Xin, even other Seventh Sequence individuals would be injured if they were accidentally hit by a rocket.
For those below the Seventh Sequence, the shrapnel from this cannonball would be fatal enough, not to mention the explosive force.
Few people can escape if they are within the blast radius of a rocket.
"Your artillery is a bit lacking," Ren Anran frowned. "I saw four rockets veer off course right after the launch."
"We don't usually fire artillery, so it's already quite an achievement that we can even muster a few top-tier artillerymen," Turkelando said sullenly. "The hit rate is 90% at three to five kilometers, 50% at ten to twenty kilometers, and only 10% at distances over fifty kilometers."
"That means the positions of 180 rockets will be shifted!"
"Maybe 190 or so!"
Turkalando replied sullenly, which made Ren Anran pace back and forth in the basement.
After a long pause, she looked at Turcalando.
"I remember you said you could influence these ferocious insects. You influenced that centipede before, and we also pulled at those colorful insects together later," Ren Anran asked.
"Yes, what's wrong?" Turcolando asked.
"How long can this ability last? How far does it affect? Will any ferocious insects that invade your vicinity be affected?" Ren Anran asked repeatedly.
"I haven't tested how long it lasts either. The range should be within ten meters, and it shouldn't have any problem affecting ordinary creatures," Turcolando shook his head repeatedly. "What are you trying to do?"
"Let's go, let's go!"
Ren Anran felt a sense of foreboding.
She was powerless against the ferocious insects, but they were not afraid of the giant moths.
As long as Turcalando can control the situation, it means they have a higher chance of safety.
Ren Anran picked out a flamethrower and urged Turkalando repeatedly.
"Saati..."
"Let's go to Leiata City and see. If your Saati needs help, we can play the heroine and save the hero. Maybe we can even rescue your Saam and get past your parents' obstacles to your marriage!"
Ren Anran's behavior was not hard to guess. Turkalando hesitated for a moment, thinking that she should listen to Zhang Xuezhou's advice and stay in the underground space to avoid an accident, but after Ren Anran said a word of persuasion, her head began to feel blood rush to her head.
"A beautiful woman saving a hero—that sounds a bit... exciting! Tell me what to do, and I'll follow you!"
She felt a little dizzy, but cheerfully followed behind Ren Anran.
Looking at her silly, happy-go-lucky younger sister, Ren Anran couldn't quite find the words to criticize her infatuation.
Ren Anran quickly called for Wang Li, and two paladins who were supposed to be protecting him looked around before reluctantly following as well.
"This appears to be Congressman Achino's private aircraft. Shall we fly over there?"
After going around in circles, Ren Anran glanced at Wang Li Wang Li nimbly pried open the hatch of a small aircraft.
Wang Li took the lead and sat in the cockpit, followed by Ren Anran. Turkalando, still groggy, asked a question. Then, the two paladins who had been following them looked at each other, unsure of what to do. They whispered to each other, one of them crawling into the aircraft, while the other dashed out at top speed.
Ren Anran ignored the two holy warriors. Not everyone in the world has the abilities of Zhang Xuezhou and others. Normal people, unless they have entered the Fifth Sequence, are unlikely to provide her with enough assistance.
Amidst the faint blue flames, the aircraft's propellers began to spin rapidly.
The rocket artillery not only indicated the direction, but also cleared a nearly absolutely safe airway.
Following Ren Anran's instructions, Wang Li piloted the aircraft and charged forward.
"What?! They've stormed into Leiata City in an airship!"
Turcolando received the message three minutes later.
She also saw a flying object streak across the sky while watching the directional firing of rocket artillery.
Little did she know that Turkalando and Ren Anran were inside the aircraft.
This made her face turn extremely pale.
She encouraged the unruly members of the honorary Lineage to join the fight, but never considered including her two daughters.
Although Turcolando could still conceive an embryo and give birth to a new child, decades of emotional bonds were irreplaceable.
She thought about it for a few seconds, and finally realized that she still couldn't have the mindset of those emperors.
"Leyata City has been ravaged by artillery fire; the time has come to liberate Leyata City!"
Turcolando raised his hands high.
She did not possess the chieftain's scepter, a symbol of control held by the Turks, but Turkorando's decades-long status was undeniable.
Even after stepping down, Turcolando continues to influence many people in Tur.
With the combined efforts of various councilors and the head of the Tuer Shenen Lineage, her prestige and power within this military base had reached their zenith.
"The god Tu'er gives us endless courage and strength, and will also grant us a great victory!"
All Turcolando could think of was launching a full-scale surprise attack; even if a single soldier could kill a moth, it would reduce the risk somewhat.
"Pass down the order: put on gas masks and all protective gear, and the entire army is to attack!"
After a simple prayer, Turcorando pointed towards the city of Leiata.
Several sergeants were initially hesitant, but when Turcolando prayed to the god Tur and received a response, all hesitation disappeared from their eyes.
"A great divine decree..."
"The Supreme God has instructed us to liberate the city of Leiata..."
"Upon receiving the Supreme Chief's order, all troops will abandon defense and charge towards Leiata City!"
"Everyone, listen up..."
"The eastern team, advance rapidly toward Leiata City!"
"West 223rd Battalion..."
Orders were relayed, and the bugle call to attack sounded for the first time at the military base.
The barbed wire surrounding the city was cut open, the trenches were quickly filled with rough timber, and a heavy truck covered in electric fences was the first to charge out.
Behind the heavy truck were four old armored vehicles, followed closely by all-terrain vehicles and two-wheeled vehicles.
Then came rows of troop carriers.
In order to prevent the outflow of people from Leiata City who were parasitized by the insects, almost all the paladins and soldiers in the Tuer District were concentrated in this area, and a special operations team supported by the Thousand Islands Alliance Council was deployed at various points.
As the call to arms sounded, these people surged forth from all directions like a torrent, driving various vehicles and approaching the city of Leiata.
