Night Encounter at the Imperial Mausoleum
Two jade artifacts were unearthed from the tomb of Emperor Luofu.
One of them was a heart-nourishing jade that Zhang Xuezhou could not use.
This is a flawed piece of spirit jade. There is a thin crack on this piece of spirit jade, and the Spiritual Qi has dissipated and disappeared, leaving only some dried chalcedony.
When these chalcedony stones are steeped in hot water, they become a kind of spiritual tea, and drinking it regularly can prolong life.
"There's a reason why Luo Yan lived to a ripe old age!"
Luo Yan was an extremely long-lived emperor. If you were to include all the emperors with the shortest reigns, the reigns of twenty emperors would not be as long as his.
With his long reign, Luo Yan's lifespan was frighteningly long for an era with limited technology.
It's unclear what Luo Yan was thinking; perhaps he wanted to carry this longevity into the afterlife. These two jade stones, believed to promote longevity, were buried with him instead of being left to the next generation.
Zhang Xuezhou held a piece of jade for nourishing the heart in his left hand and a carved jade piece covered in tea stains in his right.
He had no greed for wealth, but when he came across spiritual jade, he would take it all. It was better for him to find a place for these jade stones than to let them be buried in a tomb for a long time and turn into ordinary stones.
After comforting himself, Zhang Xuezhou stuffed the jade into his pocket, feeling that even if he hadn't discovered the problem of the Eastern Mountain Imperial Mausoleum's fortune tonight, the trip wouldn't have been in vain.
"This purple gladiolus hasn't shown its face for so many days. Is it being overly cautious, or is it simply not in the tomb anymore?"
Now that he had the jade in his hands, Zhang Xuezhou had no interest in rummaging through the pile of miscellaneous items.
He continued wandering around the tomb for a while, but couldn't find any useful clues. Even though he came alone, no purple sword orchid attacked him.
Having exhausted all his options, Zhang Xuezhou had little left to do.
After wandering around the imperial mausoleum for a while and finding nothing, he could only remove the black cloth from the video camera and then tiptoe out of the mausoleum.
"These imperial tombs all have problems. The purple gladiolus and the chip were both found at Luo Ke's tomb. At Luo Yongwen's and Luo Shan's tombs, only the purple gladiolus was found; the chip wasn't detected. At Luo Yan's tomb, nothing was found. We need to get a permit to renovate and search carefully!"
Zhang Xuezhou pondered the next steps in the investigation.
His plan is nothing more than digging deep into the ground, using the repair, maintenance, and renovation of the imperial tombs as a pretext to conduct normal daytime searches and uncover any secrets they might hold.
This was the solution Zhang Xuezhou could come up with after his previous attempts failed.
Managing the Dongshan Imperial Mausoleum and mobilizing related resources requires certain authority; some measures need to be taken to control the Dongshan Imperial Mausoleum area.
Zhang Xuezhou had previously served as the Imperial Carriage Attendant at the East Gate of Yangling, so he wouldn't mind being in charge of the imperial mausoleum area again.
"Managing the imperial tombs doesn't bring any particular economic benefits, but it involves taking care of the sentiments of the remnants of the previous dynasty. It requires receiving elderly people who come to Western Capital City from time to time. This matter isn't too difficult for me, but I think managing this area would require securing an influential position before being transferred, like a candidate for the committee..."
Zhang Xuezhou pondered the relevant procedures, feeling that there were still many formalities to be completed; otherwise, he would have no choice but to enter and exit the imperial tomb at night like a tomb raider.
An imperial tomb that is easy to enter and exit is one thing, but an imperial tomb that is dug several feet or even several feet deep obviously makes it difficult for him to enter and exit.
Official identification and justification are required to excavate a grave.
As the thought crossed his mind, Zhang Xuezhou felt a sudden tightness in his chest, as if a gust of wind was blowing against his face.
He leaped up and felt a dark shadow suddenly attack from more than ten feet away in mid-air, rushing down towards his original location.
What the heck?
Zhang Xuezhou stretched out his leg and jumped, and with a loud thud, the dark figure crashed straight into the ground.
Before Zhang Xuezhou could even make out what was happening in the dim light, the dark figure that had crashed to the ground and rolled over had already leaped up like a swift leopard.
"Wow, that's fast!"
Zhang Xuezhou was amazed, but his means of resistance were released without any hesitation.
He pointed a finger, and the suppressive power of his realm, which he had generated in response to the attack, was directly suppressed.
Despite Zhang Xuezhou's attempts to hide and avoid attention when guarding against Huang Daoxian, within the Scarlet Alliance State, as long as he doesn't encounter Seventh Sequence individuals or special Sixth Sequence individuals like Zhang Qiaoen, he is virtually invincible in combat once he has a clear understanding of his opponent.
The sheer pressure from a single realm-level technique is enough for him to quickly eliminate over 90% of his opponents.
"Uh-huh!"
The sound of someone leaping up and falling back down, crying out in pain, rang out. Seeing that his opponent still had some strength to resist, Zhang Xuezhou couldn't help but increase the intensity of his blows.
"Hey!"
He shouted.
Whether it flies in the sky or runs on the ground, he has to subdue it first.
As long as the other party is affected by his intimidation, they cannot escape the control he exerts.
"Ugh~"
Hearing sounds of dizziness and vomiting from the intimidation, Zhang Xuezhou breathed a slight sigh of relief.
"What is all this stuff... Brother Zhou? Tianhao didn't say you were practicing flying in Dongshan!"
After repeated suppression and intimidation, until the other party vomited to the point of near unconsciousness, Zhang Xuezhou finally took a flashlight to illuminate and check on them.
Dark feathers came into view, followed by a disheveled, slightly distorted face.
No matter how the disguise is changed, it wouldn't be difficult for Zhang Xuezhou to recognize Zhou Rihui.
"Brother Zhou? Brother Zhou, wake up!"
Zhang Xuezhou patted Zhou Rihui's face, but Zhou Rihui raised his hand slightly, which startled Zhang Xuezhou so much that he jumped back.
He had witnessed Zhou Rihui's body's instinctive reactions. Whenever Zhou Rihui sensed danger, he would strike back against the attacker even if he was unconscious, and he would even relentlessly pursue them to the death.
Zhang Xuezhou felt that his act of slapping Zhou Rihui's face had crossed a line, and since Zhou Rihui was still in a state of attack, getting too close was not a good thing.
He touched the communicator, intending to dial Zhou Yueyan's number, but after glancing at the sky, he changed his mind.
"Brother Zhou should be able to hold on for a while!"
Seeing Zhou Rihui's strange physical condition and unconscious, convulsing state, Zhang Xuezhou had no choice but to move nearly a hundred paces away.
He chanted incantations and invoked the Shangqing True Technique.
Regardless of whether it could remove his deterrent effect, this was the only technique he had available at the moment.
The effect seems mediocre!
In the distance, Zhou Rihui struggled a few times. Zhang Xuezhou couldn't immediately tell whether Zhou Rihui's body began to recover due to a lack of continuous deterrence, or whether his Shangqing True Technique had taken effect.
"Brother Zhou?"
Zhang Xuezhou waved from a distance, and Zhou Rihui on the ground gave a mumbled reply.
How are you feeling?
Zhang Xuezhou shone his flashlight on Zhou Rihui, who, stimulated by the light, regained some energy and managed to prop himself up with his hands.
But just two seconds later, after regaining some consciousness, Zhou Rihui began to gag violently.
This symptom is actually worse than the other person falling into a coma.
"It's over, it's not cured!"
Zhang Xuezhou believed that Zhou Rihui had recently taken too many Spirit-Forging Pill, which caused an extremely severe vomiting reaction, making him easily affected by Zhang Xuezhou's cultivation level.
The other person is not able to get rid of the nausea symptoms for the time being.
"Brother Zhou, is that you?"
After Zhou Hui vomited for four or five minutes, Zhang Xuezhou continued to ask questions, but all he received in response was repeated retching.
Clearly, Zhou Rihui was so intimidated that he became unable to extricate himself from vomiting.
Zhang Xuezhou didn't bother Zhou Yueyan even in the middle of the night; instead, he dialed Zhou Tianhao's number.
"What were you doing over there in the middle of the night? Another test flight, and you even saw my dad vomiting? It's normal for him to vomit; it would be abnormal if he didn't. Just let him vomit. My aunt said to let my dad vomit all he wants. I can't hear you anymore; my aunt has started vomiting too, and I have to take care of her!"
During the communication, Zhou Tianhao was unable to attend to other matters and hung up the communicator shortly afterward.
Zhang Xuezhou looked at Zhou Rihui, who was lying on the ground retching, and wondered whether it was Zhou Rihui's bad luck or his own that the two of them had to clash in such a place.
