Teacher and Student Reunited
"Teacher!"
"You're a teacher too!"
In the real world, Zhang Xuezhou already knew that the Emperor had two bodies, with a monkey manifesting from one of them.
This is similar to the effect of the Yang Soul Incarnation Technique, but it also incorporates a modified version of the Mental Strengthening Chapter, resulting in this situation.
Simply put, it means that the Emperor developed a kind of personality split during his cultivation, and these split personalities then acquired physical bodies.
Compared to dealing with an emperor with a split personality and unpredictable temper, Zhang Xuezhou felt that dealing with an emperor who had directly split his personality was more convenient.
Instead of going against the current and clashing with it, he directly recognized the person.
"This is interesting. You actually acknowledge me, a monkey, as your teacher!" the monkey exclaimed. "Nobody in the Sacred Land recognizes my identity except you. That's quite interesting!"
"Your aura is exactly like my teacher's; we must be of the same lineage," Zhang Xuezhou said. "I cannot deny that a hand doesn't belong to my teacher just because he lost one."
Zhang Xuezhou's actions were well-founded, and he presented a relatively respectable reason.
This reason clearly pleased the monkey greatly, but the Golden Crow Great Emperor coughed several times to remind Zhang Xuezhou not to make comparisons in such matters, lest the order of the Kunlun Sacred Land be disrupted.
"You firewood stick, shut your mouth tight!" the monkey cursed.
"I just breathed too much fire, and my throat is a little dry and itchy!"
"I've finally run into something good. If you want to cough, go outside and cough. Don't disturb our reunion!"
The monkey continued to curse, and the Golden Crow Great Emperor had no choice but to shut up.
"The Emperor is in a bad mood and has been drinking for seven days straight. It will likely take him another two or three days to sober up," said the Golden Crow Great Emperor.
"The drinks here are good, I'd like to have a couple of sips too," Zhang Xuezhou flattered.
"It's just some cheap liquor, drink if you want," said the monkey. "We've brought all the brewing materials from Western Kunlun these past few days, just so we can drink to our hearts' content!"
"What?"
Zhang Xuezhou was startled.
In just a few words, he could already sense the trouble caused by the Emperor's split personality.
"Has all the wine been brewed?" Zhang Xuezhou asked.
"It's all here!" the monkey exclaimed happily. "Let's drink to our hearts' content! What's a couple of sips at a time!"
"Have you drunk it?"
Zhang Xuezhou looked at the sleeping emperor, then at the asymptomatic monkey, and couldn't tell the difference for a moment.
"Of course I drank it!" the monkey exclaimed happily. "But I'm just a phantom, while he's a real one. The wine I drank went straight into his body, so I could only taste it and couldn't experience the intoxicating feeling at all!"
"That's good too, you never get drunk no matter how much you drink," Zhang Xuezhou said.
"I'm not afraid of getting drunk, I'm afraid of drinking myself to death," the monkey said, pointing at the Emperor. "If I get him drunk to death, I'm finished too!"
"Your Majesty has always only been slightly tipsy when you drink, and has never been so thoroughly intoxicated as you are now," said the Golden Crow Great Emperor.
"Shut up, what do you know? He just keeps too many things bottled up inside, he doesn't even dare to get drunk," Mao Hou cursed. "If he keeps bottling things up like this, I don't believe he'll ever achieve enlightenment. He'll just end up raising a bunch of you sullen brats!"
"Ugh!"
"Only a few capable individuals managed to establish their own sects, preventing the Heavenly Court's legacy from disappearing!"
The Golden Crow Great Emperor interrupted and complained, and for every word he said, he was scolded.
In the midst of an unintentional verbal battle, the once nearly invincible emperor's weaknesses seemed to become apparent.
When the Emperor dies, the monkey will die.
And the fact that this annoying monkey is still alive and well suggests that this relationship could very well hold true in reverse as well.
Zhang Xuezhou felt a chill run down his spine, realizing that the Emperor had gone too far this time, to the point that even the Emperor couldn't control the situation and couldn't even drink in peace.
Zhang Xuezhou reached out and took the wine bottle, then took a sip. He felt that the alcohol content was a level higher than before, almost on par with the high-proof liquors of Wanping Province, while the medicinal properties in the wine were much weaker.
"The medicinal effects of this Nine Treasures Wine don't seem as strong as before," Zhang Xuezhou said.
"That little bit of medicine is useless. You need to drink something that will get you drunk, and the kind of alcohol produced by burning a fire poker is just right!"
Zhang Xuezhou asked in confusion, but Mao Hou was overjoyed and quickly explained the reason.
Changing the temperature and heat used in alchemy and pharmaceutical preparation will have entirely different consequences.
The normal medicinal wine had turned into highly concentrated liquor, and Zhang Xuezhou felt that he was doomed.
He came seeking medicine to cure his illness, not to drink strong liquor.
"Teacher, I was shot in the head outside and I'm hoping to find some of the old Nine Treasures Wine to help me recover. Could you perhaps reduce the flames and give me some ordinary wine instead?"
Zhang Xuezhou didn't choose to be forceful or try to guide the conversation; instead, he directly asked Mao Hou for some of the Nine Treasures Wine from the past.
This made the monkey glance at Zhang Xuezhou, and then reach out and pat Zhang Xuezhou's head.
"Who the hell would dare to do such a dirty trick, actually punching you in the head? Bring him to Kunlun, and I'll stab him seven times in and seven times out!" the monkey cursed angrily, then asked doubtfully, "But your head seems perfectly normal, doesn't it?"
"The two bridges of heaven and earth in my mind have been shattered," Zhang Xuezhou said. "When I stepped into the Divine Ability Realm, I almost lost all my cultivation. If someone hadn't helped me with a treasure, I would never have been able to enter the Divine Ability in my entire life!"
"You've reached the Divine Ability Realm? Oh dear, you've actually reached the Divine Ability Realm! What are we going to do?"
The monkey touched Zhang Xuezhou's head. He couldn't sense Zhang Xuezhou's problem with the Heaven and Earth Bridges, but he clearly heard Zhang Xuezhou step into the Divine Ability Realm.
"It's all over, it's all over, it's all over!" the monkey exclaimed. "Haotian was counting on you to cultivate and guide Hongjun's magic, but you've already developed Divine Ability! How are we going to fill in the gaps in our cultivation now!"
For powerful cultivators residing in secret realms, being completely unaware of what happens outside their realms, even several years is not considered a long time.
However, the path to cultivation is fraught with difficulties, and it is extremely difficult to advance through several levels in a few years, especially since the Divine Ability Realm is a barrier for many cultivators.
Not to mention that the Emperor and Empress miscalculated and did not expect Zhang Xuezhou to enter the Divine Ability Realm so quickly, even Zhang Xuezhou himself had never thought that he could enter the Divine Ability after ten years of cultivation.
His speed of cultivation once astonished even Kong Anguo, who had seen much of the world.
If combined with Confucian School propaganda, Zhang Xuezhou would be hailed as the most outstanding genius of the Great Han Dynasty.
However, Zhang Xuezhou was also self-aware, knowing that the resources he consumed to improve his cultivation were several times, or even more than ten times, those of many others, and that his talent was insignificant.
What others think is another matter entirely.
At least for now, the monkey, who is the Emperor's other body, is both surprised and somewhat incredulous.
"This is chaos, complete chaos! How can Haotian and I get back to normal?"
Previously, Mao Hou had been completely unserious, laughing and joking, but after learning about Zhang Xuezhou's situation, he couldn't help but lose his composure.
The primary Ren Anran, is finished, and the backup candidate, Zhang Xuezhou, is clearly beyond the scope of the task, making it difficult for them to learn from and deduce step by step.
Thinking of the Emperor's already chaotic cultivation techniques, the monkey felt that he was doomed.
"I'll talk to that shrew first!"
He didn't care about Zhang Xuezhou, he leaped open the door of the brewery, and then rolled away and disappeared.
