Rapid Growth
How can inanimate objects be calculated?
Within the space of the battle, the nine-petaled flower let out a tremendous roar, struggling to comprehend the situation before it.
"That's impossible! Luo Zhong has been hiding for decades, barely clinging to life. Under these circumstances, he couldn't possibly have broken the gestation pool, nor could he have dug up the Eastern Mountain Imperial Tomb, much less killed Luo En and Ba'er Gu!"
The colossal black-gray dragon floated in the shadowy area, seemingly oblivious to everything, allowing the blades to slice and cut it to pieces.
Defeating such an opponent brings no sense of accomplishment; an immobile opponent is merely a sheep waiting to be slaughtered, easily tortured and killed.
The fight lasted all night and all day, and Nine-Petal Flower felt that the current situation was very abnormal.
But in this duel, his opponent was unique.
Having uncovered the opponent's trail, and seeing that the opponent remained motionless and allowed himself to be killed, the outcome of the battle was now decided.
We won this match, but we lost in too many ways; nobody wanted this outcome.
"Those skilled in using magic have always suffered backlash and failed at the last minute; there are very few exceptions. Is it impossible to avoid these things no matter how you try?"
The voice within the nine-petaled flower fell into a murmur.
The flying blades did not stop, and the speed of the slashes remained unchanged.
But this wasn't the opponent he wanted to target, nor did he need to meet them under these circumstances.
"You're the kind of person who can't have what they want, but suddenly appears when they don't. Why are you only showing up now?"
If it had happened a little earlier, this would have been a much better outcome.
But everything fell short by a hair's breadth.
The naked young man reappeared within the nine-petaled flower, his face now showing a mixture of resentment compared to his previous composure.
Thousands of blades spun back and forth in the darkness, constantly slicing through the body of the black-gray dragon, as if it were being cut into pieces.
If cruelty is required in retribution, this is the limit of cruelty.
"Perhaps you suddenly died while competing against me?"
If what you're fighting isn't a dead person, then you can only look for other reasons.
The dark gray dragon remained motionless as it was sliced through, offering no resistance whatsoever. This starkly contrasted with its previous active response and was inconsistent with its ability to conceal itself.
But if you want to find a sufficient reason, you can find one.
Perhaps his opponent, whom he fought just moments before, is still alive, and that the opponent's prolonged delay led to an unexpected event in reality, resulting in the loss of control over his body.
"Xuanming can tread on death zones. If I sacrifice this dragon body after this battle, he should be able to reshape my body and spirit, thus granting me a new life!"
The naked man pondered for a moment, letting the flower blade spin, without glancing at the dark gray dragon again.
He spoke in a low voice, describing the plans for the next steps, clearly considering what would happen next.
"But this request will ruin my plans. Without Xuanming's protection, how can I summon divine lightning, and how can I ensure a 100% safe breakthrough through the void!"
After a century of planning, everything seems to have come full circle.
If we were to start over, the timeline would no longer be a hundred years ago, and this world would no longer be a paradise for a handful of adventurers, but rather a place attracted by far too many powerful beings.
Breaking free in this new world is undoubtedly extremely difficult.
If some unexpected situations arise again, it could lead to a disastrous defeat.
Despite getting up very early, everything took a strange turn, putting many beings on the same starting line.
They may have just entered this world, or be bound by some harsh conditions, or be seriously injured upon arrival and need to recuperate, or be seeking a new body to cultivate, or be like them who have been defeated and have to start over.
The feeling of being back at the starting line and running again is hard to describe.
"Um?"
Things are rarely perfect; there are always shortcomings no matter what you do. As the naked man's thoughts raced, a sudden thought struck him.
He raised his head and saw that the dragon's body, which had been repeatedly sliced by the flower blade, seemed to move slightly.
If it weren't for his keen senses and his ability to observe without relying on the eyes of the body he was talking to, he might have actually overlooked it.
Within this dead body, some consciousness seems to remain, or perhaps a new consciousness has rapidly emerged to take over the body.
Of course, this is not a big problem. The remaining consciousness is not enough to control the body, and the newly formed consciousness lacks sufficient experience in combat.
Without sufficient inheritance, it's impossible for a master of tactical combat to emerge; even a dragon with a similar size couldn't inflict much damage.
But he soon felt a pang of annoyance.
"Roar!"
Amidst the furious roars of the dragon, the body, previously deemed dead, began to howl and slowly came back to life, shaking its head and wagging its tail.
Black scales fell as the blade spun, while golden light occasionally appeared, patching the black dragon with patches of gold.
The dragon roared, its claws lashed out, and its tail thrashed wildly.
The body came back to life and began to writhe wildly.
Black Dragon's fighting style is completely unpredictable, resorting to haphazard and chaotic tactics. However, compared to his previous inaction, the difficulty of killing him has clearly increased significantly.
In particular, something unknown remained on the other party's body, which allowed it to draw upon the fortune of the Luofu Dynasty, thus enabling it to repair the body's fate.
The naked man frowned slightly, and the thousands of flower blades that had appeared quickly retracted.
"If I had to preserve you intact for the sake of sacrifice, I could have killed you with a single, nine-hit strike before you even moved. Even if you could draw upon the destiny of Luofu, you couldn't repair it!"
The number of blades, once thousands, has been reduced to nearly a hundred, and the power has increased nearly tenfold in a short period of time.
The blades, which had previously only been able to scrape off the dragon's scales, pierced straight through the dragon's body when they struck again, raising plumes of black smoke from its flesh.
"Once I've slain your body, I'll dig out your core, thus ending this tedious and protracted struggle!"
The blade pierced the dragon's body but did not retract; instead, it penetrated deep within, cutting continuously, as if searching back and forth.
The naked man stepped on the nine-petaled flower. He licked his lips, reached out and grabbed, and scales from the many petals emerged from the flower, piecing together in a short moment to form an empty shell in the shape of a dragon.
Like a black dragon shedding its skin, the man looked at the empty shell, still bearing some missing dragon scales, with a hint of dissatisfaction.
He pointed, and billowing black smoke rolled down and gathered into the empty shell, as if adding blood to it and making it appear fuller.
When he reached out again and retracted the dozens of flower blades, the empty shell now contained several piles of flesh and blood.
Even with golden light appearing within the black dragon's body, this repair was far outpaced by the speed at which it was destroyed.
Previously, the black dragon remained motionless like a fish on a chopping board; now, it is like a caged bird, able to fly but with limited range.
But in just a short moment, the naked man's expression changed.
He shrank downwards, and saw the black dragon that had been roaring and struggling earlier rush past, trailing billows of black smoke.
As if it wanted to bite him to death, or perhaps it wanted to ram him to death, the black dragon's actions were extremely abrupt and looked ridiculous in the contest of magical techniques.
But when he reappeared from the flower's stamen, the naked man no longer displayed the same carefree and playful attitude as before.
He looked at the roaring black dragon, and also at the partially missed flower blades.
Unbeknownst to him, his opponent seemed to be growing rapidly.
