The World of the Apprentices
"Isn't that Wu Chao, the foremost disciple of the Sacred Land's number one mage?"
"He was expelled by his master?"
"Then it seems we can't call him Wu Chao anymore!"
News had always taken time to spread.
Even in an area as relatively small as the Yedie River Holy Land, that was still true.
Dao Lords, Venerables, and some people at the mage level knew that Wu Chao and Zhang Xuezhou had been expelled by their master, but by the time the news reached the ears of some apprentices, six days had already passed.
Not only had Zhang Xuezhou and Wu Chao moved out of Hongku's black stone residence, they had also been forced to give up the stone cave they had previously occupied.
The two were now living in a tent for slaves.
After they had gone in and out of the tent enough times, some people inevitably grew curious and began asking around, until they learned that Wu Chao and Zhang Xuezhou had been expelled by their master.
As a result, a few apprentices gathered outside their tent to watch the spectacle.
Compared with the fear they had once shown Wu Chao, the apprentices now looked down on him from on high.
The mere fact that they were apprentices of the Yedie River Holy Land and Wu Chao was not made their relative standing clear.
It was not merely a psychological sense of superiority, but a real difference in status.
In the past, the apprentices had feared that Wu Chao might casually teach them a lesson. Now, if Wu Chao dared lay a hand on them, it would be an act of disrespect toward the Yedie River Holy Land.
With that protection, just as many apprentices as had feared Wu Chao before now came to watch the spectacle
