Translation
The Kunlun Sacred Land offered rare and exotic fruits and brewed wine to entertain guests, while Spirit Mountain only provided vegetarian meals, accompanied by the endless chanting of sutras.
Western Sect Christians enjoy reciting scriptures, not because they are talkative, but because this is part of the spiritual practice of many monks.
Monks can gain "spiritual power" by chanting scriptures. With a single thought, they can help themselves subdue demons and slay opponents.
"Those are all Evil Dao. We cultivators cultivate ourselves. We are only as strong as our own bodies can be. Why would we need to rely on such self-hypnosis to increase our courage and power in battle? As long as we are fearless, we can fight any opponent!"
Zhang Xuezhou did not understand Sanskrit, but he was very interested in the monks' practice of mental cultivation and even sought help from the Mysterious Woman.
Xuan Nu's understanding of this matter was clearly different from Zhang Xuezhou's.
In Xuan Nu's eyes, the methods of these Western Sect monks were like a copy of a sorcerer's. Before these monks could even finish chanting, she had already beheaded them with a single sword stroke.
This even includes the two leaders of the sect, Jieyin and Zhunti. If these two leaders hadn't used any tricks, but instead recited some mantras in front of her first, Xuan Nu wouldn't have given them any chance to perform.
Even the most powerful technique needs to be used properly; otherwise, it's all for naught.
"Luckily, it was Divine Lord Zhenyuan who reminded me. If it were Xuan Nu who was in charge of me, I'm afraid I would be beaten and scolded every few days!"
Those who agree with the Xuan Nu's philosophy would be happy to have her as a sparring partner, such as Wei Qing and others. But Zhang Xuezhou is a different story.
Unable to obtain a translator from Xuan Nu, Zhang Xuezhou could only pass the time wandering around Spirit Mountain.
"The Holy Son has gone out!"
Cai Ma called out to Xuan Nu, but Xuan Nu did not respond. Cai Ma glanced at Xuan Nu but did not dare to run out.
Cai Ma felt that Zhang Xuezhou had spent too little time in the Kunlun Sacred Land, and had not yet formed a set of rules or been bound by the regulations of Kunlun. There were some things that Zhang Xuezhou could do as he pleased, but Cai Ma could only watch and dared not do them.
The Kunlun Holy Maiden sounds impressive to outsiders, but without a constant influx of newcomers into Kunlun, Cai Ma is at the very bottom of the Kunlun Sacred Land. Even the palace maids responsible for guiding the Eight Views Carriage are veterans with extensive experience, and Cai Ma needs to treat them with utmost respect.
Xuan Nu was the third most important figure in the Kunlun Sacred Land, holding a position of power almost equivalent to that of an emperor or empress. Cai Ma dared not be the slightest bit presumptuous in front of Xuan Nu.
She glanced at him enviously, then had no choice but to sit obediently on the prayer mat and wait for the goddess to lead the way.
"The rice grown on Spirit Mountain is quite miraculous; one meal can keep you full for three to five days. If we eat this meal, we won't have another. If you're not afraid of hunger, then follow the Holy Son!"
The Mystic Maiden sat in the main hall, chewing slowly and carefully, and only responded after finishing the spiritual rice in her bowl.
The Sect Master Jieyin welcomed the Mysterious Maiden, but did not stay with her for the entire time.
After some pleasantries, the cult leader arranged a vegetarian meal and then drifted into the depths of the Spirit Mountain.
Although they were the last to leave the Kunlun Sacred Land, they were the first forces to arrive at Spirit Mountain. There were only a handful of guests in the main hall.
Cai Ma had no choice but to chew the rice grains, which were like raw rice, so that she wouldn't be too hungry and weak later.
"Is the Holy Son hungry?" Cai Ma asked in a low voice.
Mind your own business!
Xuan Nu glanced at Cai Ma, Cai Ma body trembled slightly a few times before he kept stuffing rice into his mouth.
Xuan Nu wasn't worried about Zhang Xuezhou. The fact that he could withstand her punches, kicks, and magical sword for a whole day and night without showing any signs of fatigue only proved that Zhang Xuezhou 'Zhang Xuezhou physical strength was almost inexhaustible.
If it weren't for Zhang Xuezhou's exceptional protective abilities, Xuan Nu would almost suspect that Zhang Xuezhou had Divine Ability the Grain Avoidance Instruction, thus possessing such endurance and stamina.
Her gaze turned to the outside of the main hall, where she saw Zhang Xuezhou riding a wave, flying erratically and occasionally approaching some of the monks from Spirit Mountain.
Many people avoided these Spirit Mountain monks like the plague, fearing that someone might steal their belongings. Xuan Nu also gave Zhang Xuezhou some advice, but little did she know that Zhang Xuezhou would actually approach them.
That person seems to be Cihang!
The Mysterious Woman was not entirely unfamiliar with the people of the Western Sect; she was also familiar with some of their familiar faces.
"He messed up his cultivation and went insane for a long time, sometimes thinking he was a man and sometimes a woman. What's the point of talking to someone like that? Especially since he has so many hands, he wouldn't even know if he lost something!"
Cultivators from the Kunlun Sacred Land are not allowed to set foot in places like the Southern Jambudvipa Continent, but they are not prohibited from traveling west to the bitterly cold lands like the Western Continent.
The Mystic Maiden had heard about some of the great cultivators of the Western Sect.
The two leaders, Jieyin and Zhunti, learned some skills from the Eastern Land and tested them on these great cultivators. Some died, some went mad, and some were lucky enough to succeed.
Cihang is one of the successful ones. Although the drawbacks have not been resolved to this day, Cihang can be considered a normal person and has a rather unusual kind of reincarnation and longevity.
Xuan Nu knew only so much about Cihang, and she couldn't understand why Zhang Xuezhou had approached Cihang Daoist.
At this point, she let Zhang Xuezhou do whatever he wanted outside, since someone like Zhang Xuezhou was hard to kill; at most, he would just lose some money.
"Avalokitesvara, I've heard you are fluent in the languages of Eastern Land and the West?"
Zhang Xuezhou is indeed looking for a qualified translator.
He's only been to Spirit Mountain three times in recent years, so why would he learn a foreign language as preparation?
He knew some basic Sanskrit, but he couldn't understand the scriptures that many monks used to cultivate their mental power.
Having experienced the profound benefits of the Upāsaka Precepts Sutra, Zhang Xuezhou held no contempt for the Western Sect. On the contrary, he genuinely wanted to learn some potentially beneficial content from the Western Sect.
If one cannot defeat the Western Sect followers, then listening in becomes the best option.
Zhang Xuezhou found a familiar-looking monk. He had just greeted him when he felt his body being touched almost all over.
Jin Chang's feigned puppetry Fake Technique forced Zhang Xuezhou to tightly clutch his Lesser Heaven and Earth Bag, and he even managed to flick a finger out.
"You've mistaken me for someone else!"
"Should I call you Contemplator of Freedom or Cihang?"
Zhang Xuezhou looked at the monks in front of him, whose faces were neither clearly male nor female, with amusement, and then pointed to the Xuan Nu in the direction of the main hall.
"You just touched my private parts, and I even flicked your finger at you," Zhang Xuezhou laughed. "I can tolerate your offense, but Xuan Nu might not be so easy to talk to!"
"I clasped my hands together in greeting, I didn't touch you," the monk explained.
"You don't need to explain yourself; the Mystic Maiden never listens to excuses," Zhang Xuezhou said. "I want someone who understands both the languages Eastern Land and the West. If you are a qualified helper, I will give you a pill after the matter is accomplished!"
"What kind of elixir?"
"A good medicine that will definitely work for you!"
Zhang Xuezhou didn't reveal the truth at this point, but instead urged the other party, indicating that if they didn't agree, he would go find someone else to help.
"I understand Eastern Land and Western languages; whatever you want to hear, I'll translate it into plain language for you!"
The wavering lasted only a couple of seconds before this bodhisattva, who held a certain position in the Western Sect, agreed.
