The Act Went Wrong
When Zhang Manqian regained consciousness, she was already lying in the Tangshan Sanatorium.
Accompanying her was Song Fengying, her emergency contact on her communicator.
"How could this child have been electrocuted when everything was fine?!"
Song Fengying paced back and forth in the medical room, her expression anything but normal.
Since entering Western Capital, she felt that the stall at No. 18 Xuefu Road and Zhang Manqian's advanced student dormitory at the Shengteng Academy were only temporary residences, and the hospital was their permanent home.
If the timing is correct, they were discharged from the Jishi Medical Center in the Academy District only five days ago.
But in that short period of time, Zhang Manqian was back in the hospital.
This time, the illness was caused by an electric shock.
This was such an outrageous cause of illness that Song Fengying couldn't believe it.
With the fact that every device is equipped with a residual current device (RCD) nowadays, it is virtually impossible for a normal person to get an electric shock.
"She really did reach out to touch the electric shock," Luo Gaogao explained.
"My daughter isn't stupid," Song Fengying retorted. "You wealthy families always prey on young women; it must be you who forced Manqian!"
"No, we didn't! We even got hit by her!"
"That's right, look at me here, here, and here— Zhang Manqian has injured me all over!"
"What about the injury?"
"We've recovered after treatment!"
"You're talking complete nonsense!"
Amidst the clamor of debate, Professor Luo Hui meticulously examined every piece of data on the medical examination report.
Based on the data and the descriptions from Luo Gaogao, Zhu Kuang, and others, Luo Hui felt that nothing should have happened.
But all of this has already happened.
"That doesn't make sense!"
He couldn't understand why the Tiger-Crane Blood Agent he had personally prepared had brought about an effect of impervious to pain, nor could he understand why a simple injection would cause Zhang Manqian to become mentally confused.
Having lost access to firsthand information, and then Zhang Manqian being electrocuted after destroying the petri dish, everything descended into chaos. Even Luo Hui, who was skilled at judging all sorts of intricate details, couldn't deduce the real reason.
"Zhang Manqian, how are you feeling?"
After noticing that Zhang Manqian had regained consciousness, Professor Luo Hui began to question the person involved directly.
This made Professor Luo Hui keenly notice the slight fear that flickered in Zhang Manqian's eyes.
"Professor, I saw a head?"
"Then what?"
He opened his eyes and made me kneel down!
Zhang Manqian still seemed somewhat dazed and confused.
The Tiger Crane Blood Potion was too valuable. She originally intended to use the pain-relieving ability of the Taiqing Supreme Purity True Technique to feign madness, and then use the excuse of the negative effects of the blood potion to distance herself from Luo Gaogao and the others.
But Zhang Manqian never expected that her feigned madness would almost turn into real madness.
She saw a head, and the moment the other person opened their eyes, Zhang Manqian felt her mind go blank and she almost died.
If it weren't for the circuitry in the petri dish that interrupted the intimidating feeling emanating from the head, Zhang Manqian felt she would have died at that moment.
A lingering sense of fear did indeed remain in her heart.
"It seems you were hallucinating after being electrocuted!"
Luo Hui frowned, then stopped the discussion, attributing what Zhang Manqian had seen to mental confusion caused by electric shock.
"Zhang Manqian, you can testify for us. You were the one who caught us and beat us up, not the other way around," Luo Gaogao interjected.
"Who are you?"
Zhang Manqian shook her head, and in her eyes, Luo Gaogao's figure swayed back and forth in front of her, sometimes near, sometimes far.
She shook her head vigorously, but her vision was still somewhat blurry.
Even Luo Gaogao's head, due to his height, hung particularly high, like the head that had previously looked down at her from inside a glass jar, causing Zhang Manqian to feel a sudden pang of fear for no reason.
"Don't come near me!" Zhang Manqian exclaimed.
"It seems there are some aftereffects from the electric shock. You should rest for a while!"
Professor Luo Hui offered a word of comfort, then called to Luo Gaogao, signaling him not to get in the way.
As he touched his communicator, preparing to make a call, he suddenly remembered that Ren Yisheng seemed to have been imprisoned.
Through Zhang Manqian's description, he finally understood Zhang Manqian's symptoms.
If the Tiger Crane Blood Agent produced some possible trigger, what truly devastated Zhang Manqian was the psychological intimidation and suppression; the electric shocks were merely a secondary effect.
Professor Luo Hui frowned.
Zhang Manqian's clumsy bumping around ruined his arrangements, but also, by a twist of fate, allowed him to escape unscathed.
In the brief clash, the psychological intimidation and the electrical shock also saved Zhang Manqian's life.
Without the circuit he set up colliding with, Zhang Manqian's head could have been blown apart in a split second, and Luo Gaogao and the others could have died at the same time.
Professor Luo Hui, who always believed that the most dangerous place was the safest, never expected to encounter Zhang Manqian's reckless and chaotic behavior.
But he was also glad that Zhang Manqian didn't know much, and that few people believed the nonsense Zhang Manqian was spouting.
He determined the cause of the illness and understood why Zhang Manqian's memory was poor at this time.
Unable to get Ren Yisheng's help, Professor Luo Hui dialed another number.
"I'm only good at psychological intimidation through physical force, not psychological treatment. You'd be better off contacting Ren Yisheng's children!"
"Ren Anran, Ren Wuyang?"
"They may not be as good as me at fighting, but they are far superior to me in terms of comforting and treating psychological trauma. I've discussed this with Ren Anran at an internal medical meeting these past two days, and all I can say is that like father, like daughter!"
Professor Luo Hui was momentarily taken aback when he heard the reply from the communicator.
Ren Yisheng was locked up, and Ren Anran began to emerge.
Although Ren Anran cannot replace Ren Anran Ren Yisheng's position, her ability to provide emotional support makes her a valuable friend to many Lineage in Western Capital.
Many people may never need emotional support in their lives, but there's always a chance of something going wrong.
Many intimidating fighting techniques, such as Dragon Might Combat Technique Dragon Elephant Combat Technique Fighting Technique, Dragon Tiger Fighting Technique, and Tiger Roar Fighting Technique, are practiced. If someone is injured in a collision, they either need to rest for a long time to recover, or they need Ren Anran and others to release their fighting techniques to soothe the injured and resolve the problem instantly.
Compared to the former, the latter is undoubtedly a better choice.
For example, Professor Luo Hui currently has a need for this.
Under normal circumstances, Zhang Manqian wouldn't be worth his efforts, but after injecting him with his Tiger-Crane Blood Agent, Professor Luo Hui had to try to see if he could normalize Zhang Manqian, so as to avoid wasting his time.
He quickly scrolled through his contacts and sent several more messages before finally getting Ren Anran's contact number.
"An Ran, this is your Uncle Luo Hui. It's like this, I have a student... your father is sick, very sick, and can't come to help right now. Oh well, that's alright!"
After taking a deep breath, Professor Luo Hui had no choice but to hang up the communicator and consider asking his old friend for help again.
He turned around, somewhat annoyed, after a knock on the door.
"Son, look at your sister! She's really been taken advantage of!"
Before Luo Hui could press the remote, Song Fengying had already manually opened the door.
"She accidentally touched the electric shock and is still somewhat disoriented. I've already arranged for the medical staff to provide emergency care, and we're currently asking a doctor specializing in emotional support to help," Professor Luo Hui explained simply.
"They've fallen to the point where they need emotional support?" Zhang Xuezhou asked in astonishment. "Did they encounter some kind of psychoanalytic sequencer?"
"Electric!" Professor Luo Hui corrected.
"This electricity is a bit strange!"
Zhang Xuezhou didn't see any signs of mental confusion from the electric shock; he could even directly sense the lingering fear in Ren Anran's eyes.
As a practitioner of the Mental Strengthening Chapter, Zhang Xuezhou is not yet Chang'an therapy, but he is very clear about Zhang Manqian's symptoms.
Professor Luo Hui's words might fool Song Fengying, but they would be difficult to fool him.
"Sister An Ran, my sister is quite terrified right now, could you please help me calm her down?"
"Okay, where are you and your sister?"
The same voice came through the communicator, but the reply was clearly different.
Professor Luo Hui glanced at his communicator, then at Zhang Xuezhou's, and realized that his own reputation as Uncle Luo Hui was less effective than a simple "Sister An Ran" from Zhang Xuezhou.
