Making It Through Just in Time
"Dongfang Shuo, if I insult you, would you dare to accept it?"
Is there a problem with your work?
The group hurried along until they reached the Western Heavenly Gate and used a formation to notify the guards to open the gate and allow them to pass. Only then did Jinxia Yuanjun and the others feel at ease.
Then Yao Yuanguang, acting on the orders of Jinxia Yuanjun, conducted a test on Zhang Xuezhou.
This forced Yao Yuanguang to grit his teeth and curse.
But Zhang Xuezhou wasn't angry. He pointed to his slightly shiny head with a surprised look, and then pointed to Yao Yuanguang.
After responding to Yao Yuanguang, he shook his head vigorously.
"He's in a very good mood right now," Yao Yuanguang said. "Just like that Buddhist monk, his oral account should be true."
"Um!"
Jinxia Yuanjun, in a bad mood, responded with a sound of agreement.
If Zhang Xuezhou's words are completely different from Yao Yuanguang's, that would be a good thing.
He was afraid that the two of them would give the exact same story.
This proves that the two saw the same thing, and the accuracy of their divination is increasing, which also means that the probability of Nezha's future death is even higher.
"I feel really down the Unseen," Zhang Xuezhou said. "I feel like my lifespan has been shortened considerably!"
"You are not short-lived. Although I don't remember exactly where you flowed in the river of time, I saw glimpses of your future in the next twenty years," Yao Yuanguang said.
"I can't believe I only have another twenty years to live. I never imagined I'd die at such a young age, at forty," Zhang Xuezhou sighed.
"Dying at forty seems a bit too young, not even a fraction of my age," Nezha interjected.
Nezha wasn't exactly happy, but compared to short-lived beings like Zhang Xuezhou and Yao Yuanguang, he felt that living for over a thousand years was enough. He could live the rest of his life however he wanted without constantly worrying. At worst, he could find a place to go into seclusion in twenty years, far away from where Lingbao Tianzun resided.
The problem is that simple to solve.
If what Yao Yuanguang saw was true, then he had defied fate and changed his destiny by following the fortune teller's advice.
If what Yao Yuanguang saw wasn't true, then he had nothing to worry about; he could just eat and play as usual.
With everyone chattering away, the atmosphere became much more lively, and even Jinxia Yuanjun's melancholy dissipated somewhat.
"Let's go back to Taiyi Palace and talk about it then!"
The pulling force of the Heavenly Gate came, and Jinxia Yuanjun uttered her last words.
Pulled up by the power of the Heavenly Gate, the group quickly ascended into the air, then turned into tiny dots and disappeared into the distance.
In the distance, the Sect Master Jieyin, riding on auspicious clouds, flew over with several disciples.
"Master, they have already left," Vishnu said.
"This is alright," said the Sect Master Jieyin. "Jinxia is a quiet person who doesn't like to go out unless necessary. Even when she does go out, she returns early. She doesn't like to engage in idle chatter, and Nezha speaks without any seriousness. It's hard to believe him!"
"What the Master said is true," Vishnu flattered, "No one will believe their words!"
"Master Shi was just influenced by the Eight Treasures Merit Pool and said an extra word; it shouldn't be a problem," Heavenly Dao Brahma.
"There is still some impact, but not much," the Sect Master Jieyin shook his head and said, "I didn't expect that Master Shi's entry into the Eight Treasures Merit Pool to recuperate his soul would cause such a thing. But the fact that he was able to transform the bottom of the Merit Pool into a layer of mortal water shows that he has gained a lot, so it's not bad!"
"Master... you're right!"
Brahma responded.
He felt that apart from being somewhat mentally challenged, the Buddhist disciple of Master Shi Gong had not changed much from before.
If we were to talk about the gains from entering the Eight Treasures Merit Pool, it would probably only be the suppression of the damage caused by the Buddha's disciple using his Divine Ability.
But there was a reason why the Sect Master Jieyin said that, and he did not refute it.
"This matter ends here. Keep a close watch on Master Shi and don't let him wander around for the next few days, lest he cause more trouble," said the Sect Master Jieyin. "Let him calm his mind completely before we talk about anything else."
"Can we get Shi Gong into that pagoda?" Brahma asked in a low voice. "We can't defeat Shi Gong, and we might make a mistake!"
"Then let him stay at the Linglong Tower for three days," the Sect Master Jieyin nodded. "Master Shi is intelligent; perhaps he can figure out how to use that treasure!"
"Master is right!"
Brahma was overjoyed.
When the Sect Master Jieyin descended on auspicious clouds, the group immediately rushed towards the depths of Mount Ling.
Then the Sect Master Jieyin took the Spirit Silk Jade Lotus from his sleeve and examined it repeatedly. The more he looked at it, the happier he became, as he felt that the Spirit Silk Jade Lotus could assimilate the physical body and also had the wonderful function of collecting the Heaven and Earth Spiritual Qi to nourish the body.
This led him to vaguely figure out the main reason why Nezha was immortal and achieved sainthood through his physical body.
"If this Spirit Silk Jade Lotus could transform into my body, I'm afraid I would achieve physical immortality," the Sect Master Jieyin thought with delight. "I just wonder what methods the True Person used back then to create a monster like Nezha from this jade lotus!"
The Sect Master Jieyin understood some things, but others remained unsolved.
Training successors was only out of necessity; he undoubtedly longed to live longer. If his soul and body could live forever, why would he bother with such an effort to raise descendants?
Just thinking about how none of these Buddhist disciples were easy to deal with gave him a headache.
Among the many disciples of Buddha, Vishnu possesses the most fierce and powerful potential for development, while Brahma's ability lies in control. Vishnu has the Divine Ability to briefly travel through space, making him extremely flexible and first-rate in terms of survival skills. As for Tathagata, he is kind-hearted and extremely patient, belonging to the category of those who achieve great things later in life.
The Sect Master Jieyin sect mentally reviewed all the Buddhist disciples and felt that these people were not exactly useless; they were among the best in the Three Realms, second only to the lords of Sacred Land.
After considering the four men, he couldn't help but think of the fifth, a reserve Buddhist disciple.
Wu Chao has the lowest cultivation level among the group, but he possesses excellent aptitude for cultivation. If Wu Chao could be given some assistance, the Sect Master Jieyin believed that there was at least an 80% chance that he would step into the Divine Ability Realm.
Being able to reliably enter the Divine Ability Realm with such a high probability means that Wu Chao also has a 50% chance of entering the Sole Self Realm and a 30% chance of entering the True Self Realm.
This is an extremely high level of cultivation potential, and we are willing to let the Sect Master Jieyin pay some price for its nurturing.
What the Sect Master Jieyin found somewhat regrettable was that the Wu Chao Cultivation Technique was not only difficult to replace, but also incomplete.
"They've been traveling to the Eastern Lands for over eight months; they should be inside by now," the Sect Master Jieyin mused. "The Yin-Yang School's realm techniques are quite wondrous. The first few levels completely surpass my Bodhi Heart Sutra. If I could learn the Yang realm techniques, and my junior brother could learn the Yin realm techniques, the combined power we unleash would be even more formidable!"
If one could obtain the complete cultivation techniques of the Yin-Yang School and find them roughly suitable, the Sect Master Jieyin would not mind making an attempt at cultivation.
For beings like them, there are very few spiritual practices available nowadays that can transform them.
Just as he was interested in the Spirit Silk Jade Lotus Root, the Sect Master Jieyin was indeed somewhat interested in the Yin-Yang School's cultivation techniques.
He had waited for the Spirit Silk Jade Lotus for hundreds of years and didn't mind waiting a little longer for Wu Chao and the others to return.
After much deliberation, he finally flew out of the Spirit Mountain Secret Realm, satisfied, and swiftly rode on auspicious clouds towards another Sacred Land.
