The One Being Targeted
"Junior brother, something's not right with you. We've been looking for our cousin for three days!"
I spent a day wandering around Niutou Mountain, another day walking along the river, and then another day traveling by land.
After going around in circles, Brother Tathagata felt that they had been circling within a radius of a hundred miles for the past three days.
He doesn't mind Wu Chao doing good deeds, but he hopes Wu Chao won't waste his time.
"Senior brother, you know my Star-Fixing Technique- Fixing Technique isn't very good," Wu Chao said with difficulty. "I've already tried my best!"
"Effort is a good thing, but... since he's entered that secret passage, I'll go back and search again, and then follow the river once more," said Brother Tathagata. "If he's dead, there will always be traces left; if he's still alive, he must be somewhere, which will save you from worrying!"
"It's wonderful that Senior Brother can help me!" Wu Chao exclaimed happily. "If Senior Brother can help with the search even once, it will definitely eliminate so many uncertainties!"
"Wait for me, let's finish this quickly so we can get back sooner!"
"Okay, senior!"
Wu Chao readily agreed.
He watched as his senior brother, Che Rulai, carrying his staff and alms bowl, strode away into the distance, and felt a sense of relief.
He has already delayed for three days, and now it is clearly the final timeframe.
Then they were supposed to head south to Shouchun City.
This may have reached Brother Tathagata's bottom line, and Wu Chao can no longer delay.
He hoped that Zhang Xuezhou and the others were not traveling on foot, but had already arrived in Shouchun City and made all the necessary arrangements.
"Master?"
"Don't rush, don't rush!"
Compared to three days ago, Zhang Cigong was no longer as anxious.
It wasn't that Zhang Cigong had stopped being anxious, but rather that his body couldn't withstand the anxiety of the past three days and the exhaustion of searching for people in the wind and rain; his body simply couldn't take it anymore.
"Are you able to find Brother Xuezhou?" Zhang Cigong asked earnestly. "I hope you can give us a definite answer."
"Of course I can find it!"
"Then why haven't we found Brother Xuezhou yet?"
"You Xuezhou to stall for time, what could I do? I could only stall," Wu Chao whispered in Zhang Cigong's ear, "Listen carefully, kid. If this matter is handled well, I will get what I need, and you, Brother Xuezhou, will also get what you need. You will also have the inheritance of the Beast Taming Sect. If it's not handled well..."
If things are done well, everyone will benefit, and of course, Brother Tathagata won't suffer any loss.
However, if not handled properly, their mutual benefit could turn into mutual restraint, even attracting a lot of unnecessary trouble and disrupting their individual paths of development and progress.
Young people seem to have plenty of time, but once it's gone, it's gone forever.
When Wu Chao realized that he was physically weak and that his thinking and other abilities were declining due to his age, Wu Chao had no choice but to accept the fact that he was just an ordinary person.
The only way for him to escape all of this is to run faster, or even faster.
Only in this way can he learn the most knowledge during the age when he is most capable of learning, and develop his abilities the fastest.
Wu Chao doesn't believe in late-blooming success or seeking prosperity in his later years. He simply needs to stay ahead of his peers and maintain that advantage to truly be far ahead.
Only in this way can he catch up with those who are already ahead after surpassing his peers, and even surpass one genius cultivator after another, and then launch an attack on the great cultivator groups.
This is undoubtedly an opportunity for Wu Chao.
Under Jin Chang's control, he will teach him the techniques of realm cultivation, and even the Following Like a Shadow Technique. This will give him the greatest means of survival and the ability to infiltrate the battle among the Buddhist disciples.
Wu Chao's warning brought a sense of relief to Zhang Cigong, and he lay down in this temporary resting place in a daze.
"He seems to be reaching his limit?"
After watching the show for a long time, Li Shaojun finally came over.
"Even if you had three crossbow bolts stuck in your body and were rushing around for three days, exhausted and frantic, you wouldn't be able to hold on," Wu Chao said.
"I can handle it!"
Li Shaojun shrugged.
Let alone three crossbow bolts stuck in his body, even ten or a hundred, Li Shaojun felt he would just smile slightly and recover after dying once.
He has the ability to court death; even Li Shaojun was somewhat surprised by his own abilities, let alone others.
Li Shaojun readily agreed and allowed Wu Chao to watch it several times.
He suddenly remembered his senior brother Buddha's fear of the Eastern Land.
Having only briefly explored the Southern Jambudvipa Continent, he clearly hadn't grasped the true essence of this continent, not even the Water Ape Great Sage he had encountered.
Perhaps a single technique, an inconspicuous school of thought, or an inconspicuous person can cause some self-important individuals to suffer a major setback.
This was a lesson learned by Brother Tathagata after being beaten for half a year, Wu Chao clearly did not want to repeat the same mistake.
This made him much friendlier towards Li Shaojun, and his words were less aggressive than before. Wu Chao even began to seek possible help from Li Shaojun.
"Treating this kid isn't difficult for me," Li Shaojun said, stroking his chin. "But the question is, why should I spend the cost to treat someone who has nothing to do with me?"
"We will be very grateful for your help," Rong Tianding said.
"I don't need any useless gratitude," Li Shaojun shook his head and said, "I need tangible benefits that I can see!"
"What benefits do you want?" Wu Chao asked, frowning.
"I know part of what you're planning, and I hope there's a share of the profits," Li Shaojun said. "You'll need to swear an oath to guarantee that!"
"What if none of these benefits suit you?" Wu Chao asked.
"No benefit in the world is useless; it's all about how you use it," Li Shaojun said. "Just tell me whether you agree or not!"
"Agreed," Wu Chao replied, holding up three fingers.
"You agree to that?"
Li Shaojun opened his mouth, still thinking about how Wu Chao had gone through so much trouble to agree, and how he had made all sorts of excuses, even completely abandoning a minor cultivator like Zhang Cigong.
But Li Shaojun didn't expect Wu Chao to agree so readily, and even be willing to make Great Heart Demon Oath as Li Shaojun requested.
"Could it be that the benefits they're seeking are completely unsuitable for me? To be honest, I was a bit slow to come to my senses. It was only when that heartless little Dongfang Shuo wanted to abandon me that I snapped out of it. I didn't even hear what they were talking about before."
Wu Chao readily agreed, but Li Shaojun became uneasy.
But he kept his word. He took out a pill from the pouch at his waist, cut it into four pieces, and fed one piece to Zhang Cigong with water.
With this additional connection, Li Shaojun was essentially a temporary addition to the group, and his previous sense of alienation disappeared.
"Shuchun City?"
He also learned some relevant information.
For example, Zhang Xuezhou's actual location at this time, and Wu Chao's request for Li Shaojun to go to Shouchun City to check and inquire about Zhang Xuezhou and others.
"Who exactly are you targeting?" Li Shaojun asked warily.
"Targeting me!"
Wu Chao pointed to himself.
All these plans were ultimately aimed at Wu Chao, until he was turned into a laborer for the Great Han Dynasty.
This process will not affect anyone; in fact, everyone will benefit.
How could such an absurd thing happen in the world?
If there is no party who suffers a loss, then there can be no party who benefits.
The Wu Chao whispered a few words to each other, which Li Shaojun found difficult to understand.
He struggled to grasp the complex relationships involved and vaguely sensed that these people all seemed abnormal, making it difficult to judge the situation using normal thinking.
