Soul-Seizing Incantation
"This spell of mine is called the Soul-Capturing Spell!"
When they rode the white horse again, Brother Tathagata sat on the horse's back and whispered about the Incantation Technique he had used.
His expression was perfectly calm, as if he had never cast Incantation Technique on Zhang Xuezhou and Li Shaojun before, and he simply continued his story in a calm manner.
The Incantation Technique cannot be learned by others simply by him explaining it. Firstly, there is the issue of the learner's aptitude. Secondly, the foundations of different schools are different, and even if someone is capable of cultivating it, there is a problem of compatibility and strength. Thirdly, his Incantation Technique is recorded in Sanskrit, and there are incomplete descriptions after it is translated into the Eastern language.
His skill level in the Soul-Capturing Spell wasn't very high, and Zhang Xuezhou and Li Shaojun were even less able to master it after listening to him.
Brother Tathagata was not worried about leaks or anything else.
He kept speaking in the language of the East, and even gave me an extra copy of the "Three Pure Land Sutras" to enhance the power of Incantation Technique and counteract evil curses.
"Your Incantation Technique really can control people's minds!"
If the "Bewitching Beast Control Technique" is more often used on creatures lacking intelligence, then this spell of the Buddha is primarily aimed at humans.
"This spell... this spell has major flaws, it only has occasional conveniences," Brother Tathagata said helplessly. "I have the cultivation of the eighth realm, and even against cultivators of your level, it is extremely difficult. It can only be used against some extremely weak individuals."
That's amazing!
"I didn't cultivate this spell to bewitch people, but simply to make it easier to enter the Eastern Land," said Brother Tathagata. "For example, to temporarily bewitch some gatekeepers and guards so that I can enter the city safely!"
You don't need to explain these things to me!
Zhang Xuezhou shook his head.
Brother Tathagata spoke very modestly, but Li Shaojun seemed to have fallen victim to all of them, and Zhang Xuezhou only managed to escape trouble thanks to the painting demon and the eye of the Bashe.
Like the Drowsiness Technique, this Incantation Technique has the drawback of using a higher level against a lower level, and it is difficult to control those with strong minds. However, the Incantation Technique's flaws do not outweigh its merits.
Moreover, Zhang Xuezhou has recently shown great interest in this type of Incantation Technique.
Following his "Beast Control Technique," a spell specifically designed for beasts and demons, he now possesses another bewitching Incantation Technique to control people's minds.
Although he might not be able to master it, and even if he did, it might not be useful, and its power might be far less than that of his senior brother, the Buddha, Zhang Xuezhou felt that if he had the spare energy, he could learn it appropriately, so that he wouldn't have to cram at the last minute if he ever needed it.
"You Western Sect... tsk tsk!"
Li Shaojun echoed this sentiment several times, realizing that dealing with the Western Sect was a constant struggle, and without considerable skill and shrewdness, one could easily be tricked by these monks.
Brother Tathagata has a peaceful demeanor and seems unassuming, but when he takes action, it is as swift as thunder. Even when he submits, he does so decisively and without a single fault.
People with this kind of temperament are extremely terrifying, and when combined with their strength that few can stop, their thoughts become even more unpredictable. Without an equal or restraining means, Li Shaojun has no desire to associate with such people.
He also quickly inquired about his fellow disciple, Tathagata.
"Everything I've said to you is true. If you're interested, try to find my junior brother; perhaps he can help you. As for anything else, I really can't guarantee anything," the Buddha said helplessly. "Our Western Sect has been searching for him for a long time, but we still haven't heard a word about your ancestor!"
"Hey!"
Brother Tathagata is now fully cooperating, but the answer he gave after cooperating left Li Shaojun with no idea what to do.
He was also glad that he hadn't listened to the other party and run around doing things, otherwise all his efforts would have been in vain and he would have felt very upset.
Li Shaojun muttered something under his breath, then activated his cloud-riding technique, riding the wind and waves as he drifted and swayed over mountains and valleys, no longer wanting to get close to dangerous figures like his senior brother, Tathagata.
"If you were in my situation, would you do the same?"
Seeing Li Shaojun disappear into the darkness, Brother Rulai asked Zhang Xuezhou a question in a low voice.
"My choice is no different from yours, but understanding you is one thing, and accepting your choice is another," Zhang Xuezhou said, waving his hand.
After Li Shaojun learned of the matter, he ran away, and Zhang Xuezhou was no exception. Whenever he escorted his senior brother Rulai out of Huainan, Zhang Xuezhou would also ride away.
His response made Brother Tathagata sigh, and he stopped trying to persuade Zhang Xuezhou with words.
He sat on the white horse and followed Zhang Xuezhou for nearly an hour, until he finally sat down and his body hit the ground. By then, Zhang Xuezhou had already ridden away with Rong Tianding on his back.
When it rains, it pours!
Brother Tathagata pursed his lips, then covered his chest before taking out his alms bowl.
Inside the alms bowl, the Great Sage of the Water Ape paced back and forth in extreme agitation, repeatedly pounding his chest and striking it.
The purple aura permeated the alms bowl, forcing Brother Tathagata to use his power to suppress it. Otherwise, even if he was injured, he would not have been beaten so badly by Lei Bei and Tian Jiu, and would not have been able to fight back against these people who kept chasing him.
He stared intently at the Great Sage Water Ape, a dangerous glint constantly flashing in his eyes.
For a moment, Brother Tathagata wanted to crush the Water Ape Great Sage to gain enough time to adjust and unleash his full power, but for another moment he couldn't bear to kill him, lest the Yin-Yang School cultivation technique he had obtained be lost.
He held the alms bowl, pondering back and forth, and finally staggered forward in search of a place to rest and recuperate.
A slight sound came from the darkness. Just as Brother Tathagata became alert, he felt a sharp pain in his lower body.
On the empty ground, a sharp sword wreathed in purple light emerged from the earth and then pierced his genitals.
Brother Tathagata clamped his legs together and chopped down on the ground with his palm.
A loud explosion echoed through the ground, and the sharp sword fell limply to the ground, but there was no one there anymore.
Who is sneaking around and launching this attack?
Brother Tathagata shouted loudly.
He scanned his surroundings with his eyes and pricked up his ears to find the attacker's location.
It wasn't until a streak of purple light flashed across the sky and pierced the back of his head that Brother Tathagata recognized the attacker.
It's you again!
The Buddha's senior brother barely managed to block the attack with his Dragon-Subduing Wood Staff, and amidst the sound of it shattering, he could already see the tuft of white beard on Tian Jiu's chin.
"Are you and that Jin Chang so close?"
Jin Chang didn't come to ambush them, but Tian Jiu relentlessly pursued them, even after they left Huainan. Senior Brother Rulai couldn't understand why this friendship was so extraordinary.
He was struck by another sword, and a sharp pain shot through his shoulder blade. Even the Buddha himself had to dodge awkwardly.
"Hand over that Law Treasure bowl you're holding!"
Tian Jiu moved like a nightingale, wielding her sword and weaving through the crowd.
He grabbed a tree with his right hand, fell down, and then disappeared.
Tian Jiu was unwilling to Lei Bei, but that didn't mean Tian Jiu disliked taking action, especially when there was a significant conflict of interest.
He fulfilled his promise to Lei Bei, and his swordsmanship had already injured his senior brother, Tathagata. From then on, he no longer worried about being challenged by Lei Bei.
But Tianjiu discovered something even more important.
The guardian spirit beast of the Beast Taming Sect was actually captured inside a Law Treasure bowl.
This is a top-tier demon that is almost invincible.
Putting aside the help gained from taming the Water Ape Great Sage after seizing the Law Treasure, just considering the fact that the opponent's alms bowl Law Treasure, which had subdued the Water Ape Great Sage, was now in a position to strike a drowning dog, Tian Jiu felt that the opponent was absolutely worth his full effort.
