Jack's Fear
Before long, Jack came jogging over.
Jack looked troubled. Clearly, something had happened.
Seeing that something was wrong, Chen Feng asked, "Did something happen?"
Jack immediately sent his underlings away, then said to Chen Feng:
"Boss, the FBI seized that yacht last night. They've already traced it to Stone, and a lot of FBI agents just came here to investigate."
Chen Feng's eyes instantly turned icy. He was already thinking of killing Jack.
Being targeted by the FBI was no good thing. Even though he had become an immortal cultivator, he didn't dare claim he was invincible.
He had no way to withstand Eagle Sauce Country's army and weapons.
Only by killing Jack and wiping out his gang could he eliminate the threat for good.
He had been in a hurry to get back to land yesterday and had thought Jack would take care of everything.
He hadn't expected the fool to focus on taking over the gang first, without even getting rid of the bodies and covering their tracks.
Jack, who was still worried about the FBI, suddenly felt a chill run down his spine, as though something terrifying had its eyes on him.
When he saw the look in Chen Feng's eyes, the hairs all over his body instantly stood on end.
Fear rose from the bottom of his heart.
Jack hurriedly dropped to his knees and said in a trembling voice:
"Boss! I just took care of everyone who went onto the ship with us last night, including the driver. Other than me, no one knows you went aboard!"
Jack was filled with fear. From the icy look in Chen Feng's eyes, he could tell that Chen Feng intended to kill him.
His body kept trembling. Even though Jack had become the gang's boss and had dozens of men outside,
he had no thought of resisting Chen Feng. He had witnessed Chen Feng's strength with his own eyes.
Even the Blackwater mercenaries were no match for Chen Feng, so there was even less chance that his underlings could stand against him.
If Chen Feng wanted him dead, there was no way he would survive.
"Get up. I told you I don't like people kneeling," Chen Feng said calmly.
Only when Chen Feng spoke did Jack feel the chill disappear, and he let out a long sigh of relief.
"Keep your mouth shut. Otherwise, even if you go to the FBI, they won't be able to protect you." Chen Feng stared at Jack.
Jack immediately assured him:
"Don't worry, boss. I've been dealing with the FBI for a long time. They definitely won't find anything, and I'm already preparing to leave here with my men."
Seeing how frightened Jack was, Chen Feng finally nodded. "Are the things I asked for ready?"
The main reason Chen Feng had given up on killing Jack was Jack's earlier answer. He had already killed everyone who had gone to the ship with them yesterday, so he wasn't entirely stupid.
Besides, after seeing what Chen Feng could do, Jack wouldn't dare betray him lightly. The abilities Chen Feng had displayed were enough to strike fear into Jack.
Moreover, if he killed Jack, buying arms in the future would be difficult.
He also had other plans in mind, and keeping Jack and his men around would make things more convenient for him.
It was safe at home, but not abroad, and he was bound to attract attention.
In the modern world, he needed not only an extensive business network but also an armed force of his own.
"Boss, I've put everything you wanted in the storeroom. I'll take you there."
Jack respectfully led Chen Feng toward the bar's storeroom.
There was a large pile of things in it.
Most of them were bundles of photo albums, all featuring sexy European and American beauties in extremely revealing shoots. There was very little text in the albums; they consisted mainly of photographs.
There were also everyday items from the modern world, including glassware, metal tools, fabric, and many other kinds of things.
Everything on the list Chen Feng had given Jack was something he had previously chosen to buy and resell, and carried the least risk.
He had never taken electronic technology products to the Painting Scroll World to sell, because such products were beyond the understanding of the Painting Scroll World's natives and were extremely likely to invite trouble.
Photo albums and everyday items like these, however, would not attract too much attention.
As long as he told people in the Painting Scroll World that he had bought them from other countries when he sold them, they would have little reason to be suspicious.
Chen Feng didn't know how vast the Painting Scroll World was.
But there were many neighboring countries, and even more countries farther away.
Besides, the Painting Scroll World had nothing like the modern world's communications technology.
News had a hard time traveling between countries, so there was no way to verify the origins of the things he sold.
Chen Feng wasn't worried that these things wouldn't sell, either.
Novelty could command a high price anywhere. Whether it was the titillation of the photo albums or the demand for everyday items, both could fetch a high price.
Jack stood respectfully to one side. He couldn't understand why Chen Feng had asked him to buy these things.
He even thought Chen Feng had some unusual collecting fetish.
Such revealing photo albums of beautiful women had long since fallen out of fashion. Anyone who wanted to see that kind of thing could go online and find a website far more stimulating than this.
Chen Feng turned to Jack and instructed him:
"Take your men and leave this place as soon as possible. It would be best if you left Eagle Sauce Country. Call me once you've found somewhere safe."
"Boss, I'll do whatever you say. I'll go wherever you tell me to. I have dozens of men following me now."
Jack knew that, under the circumstances, leaving Eagle Sauce Country was indeed the safest option.
But he didn't know where to go, so he wanted to ask Chen Feng.
Chen Feng thought for a moment, then said:
"Go to Southeast Asia or the Middle East. A chaotic region would be best."
"All right, I'll arrange for my men to sneak across the border later," Jack agreed.
For gangsters like them, going to a chaotic region was indeed the best choice.
Jack then brought over two cases, set them in front of Chen Feng, and said:
"Boss, there's also this."
Jack opened the cases, revealing stacks of green dollar bills.
There was roughly a million dollars in total.
The money had all belonged to Stone. After Jack took over the gang, the cash had naturally fallen into his hands as well.
"Keep the money. You'll need it to establish yourself somewhere. Once you're settled, help me buy some powerful weapons. I'll need them later."
Chen Feng didn't particularly want the dollars. They were dirty money and could easily be investigated back home, while laundering them was a hassle. He might as well have Jack buy him more weapons and equipment.
"All right, boss!"
A smile immediately spread across Jack's face. He knew Chen Feng wasn't going to kill him.
Chen Feng then sent Jack away.
He began sending the supplies into the Painting Scroll World one by one.
Aboard a passenger plane bound for Dragon Country, Chen Feng sat in first class.
After sending the supplies to the Painting Scroll World, he had taken the next available flight home.
Just then, a tall flight attendant came over to Chen Feng. She poured him a glass of water and said gently:
"Sir, here's some water."
The flight attendant had been drawn to Chen Feng as soon as he boarded the plane.
Someone so handsome and seated in first class had naturally caught her attention.
"Thank you," Chen Feng replied with a smile.
As soon as he picked up the glass in front of him, he saw a slip of paper underneath it with a phone number written on it.
The flight attendant then leaned close to Chen Feng's ear and said softly:
"Sir, this is my contact information. If you need to ask about flight information, you can contact me anytime."
The hint was already obvious. How could Chen Feng fail to understand?
