Silenced Brilliance (Part 2)

Miao Xin suddenly fell silent for a moment, then asked softly, "Su Ming, this Nirvana-if there's a suitable corpse, could I get one too?"

Su Ming paused briefly at her words, but told her frankly, "Zijin, Stacy, and I have already looked into it." He sighed. "Nirvana has a great many drawbacks. Once used, it would seriously affect your free will."

"Mm, that wouldn't be worth it." Miao Xin smacked her skeletal hoof, her tone somewhere between relief and regret. "Compared to consciousness, the body really isn't the most important thing."

Su Ming acknowledged her, ended the call, and began dealing with the situation on the battlefield.

Miao Xin looked at her skeletal body, her soul fire flickering slightly. She leaned back in her chair and dwelled on her thoughts for a moment before casting them aside.

The past was gone, and she should cherish the present, she told herself. She was unfortunate, certainly, but she was also the luckiest.

Then there was their earlier conversation. Jin Rongjia and the others had gotten too hung up on the assumption that nuclear weapons would fail under the combat conditions. Miao Xin couldn't imagine what kind of magic could withstand the terrifying power of a nuclear explosion.

Even if some kind of super magic really did exist that could withstand a nuclear blast, the technology side would never admit defeat in the field it knew best. If an atomic bomb didn't work, they would use a hydrogen bomb. If a yield of a million tons wasn't enough, there was always Big Ivan!

But what if, instead of withstanding it, something stopped it from exploding?
