All under heaven bustle for profit, all under heaven hustle for profit.
The atmosphere in front of the station was always bustling, and amidst the flow of people, a young man walked out with a backpack.
After graduating from high school, Jiang Ping had struggled in the city, but unfortunately, while that city had kept his youth, it could not keep him; to make matters worse, his girlfriend of five years had broken up with him without a second thought.
Tired of the deceit and schemes, Jiang Ping simply quit his job and returned to his hometown to clear his head. Walking on the road home, for some reason, he felt a touch of trepidation at the prospect of returning.
"Thump."
Suddenly, a black-robed person passed by Jiang Ping, dropping a thick book with a black cover.
"Wait, you dropped something," Jiang Ping said, bending down to pick up the book and turning quickly to find the person, but in an instant, the black-robed person had already vanished without a trace.
"Strange, where could they have gone in such a short time?" The others around him looked at Jiang Ping with curiosity, as if no black-robed person had ever passed by him at all.
Seeing a ghost in broad daylight, Jiang Ping waited dejectedly at a roadside shop, but he ended up waiting for two or three hours. Seeing the sun about to set, Jiang Ping could only let out a long sigh and head home with the black book.
"Creak, creak."
The old gate made strange noises from not having been opened for a long time. By now, the sky had darkened, and the scattered lights of the countryside were gradually flickering on. Jiang Ping spent several hours tidying up the old house, finally able to settle down. Just as he dragged his exhausted body to lie down and rest, he suddenly remembered the black book he had picked up that afternoon.
Under the yellow light, Jiang Ping carefully examined the mysterious book. The black cover was made of an unknown material; reaching out to touch it, he felt no roughness—it was neither leather nor fabric. The cover was plain and unadorned, without a single word, and it was difficult to tell which era the book belonged to.
"Whoosh."
A glimmer of golden light suddenly flashed under the lamp. Jiang Ping rubbed his eyes, thinking he had seen things, and flipped open the cover, wanting to see if he could find any clues about the owner inside.
The moment he opened the book, Jiang Ping froze, his entire consciousness absorbed into the mysterious volume.
Under the night sky, countless people were still singing. Jiang Ping could no longer feel his own body, yet he seemed able to see everyone nearby. He could even clearly see the saliva on the tongue of a small dog by the path as it licked its chops after finishing a bone.
What is going on? Wasn't I just reading a book at home? Jiang Ping's heart hammered violently, unable to comprehend his current situation. However, as if the pages were being flipped, the scenes before his eyes flashed by like a revolving lantern.
In the blink of an eye, artillery fire roared, old planes in the sky continuously dropped incendiary bombs, soldiers of various hair colors charged into the fray, and the surrounding war was overwhelming, with the sound of explosions ringing incessantly.
"Is... is this the Great War?" Looking at the soldiers fighting in blood and the classic old-fashioned planes in the sky, Jiang Ping was shocked. It seemed this was not his own deathbed memory as he had previously guessed.
Time continued to reverse.
"Woo! Woo!"
A jarring roar sounded in Jiang Ping's ears. A classic black steam engine was whistling, continuously spewing hot white steam from its head. Pedestrians dressed in Victorian-style clothing passed right through Jiang Ping.
"The First Industrial Revolution?" Since he did not understand the current situation, Jiang Ping could only suppress his unease and continue watching.
Jiang Ping was like a ghost traveling through different eras. He witnessed the Age of Discovery, with Columbus pointing at the Central American continent and shouting to his crew, "This is India!" He also witnessed the struggle for hegemony among Wei, Shu, and Wu, as well as the process of the Eternal Emperor Qin Shi Huang building the Great Wall.
He saw the establishment and destruction of the Holy Roman Empire, the construction of the 146-meter-tall Great Pyramid of Giza, and the rise and fall of the first Egyptian dynasty in human history. He saw how the Sumerian Civilization was born in the Mesopotamia region.
The Earth seemed to be reversing, letting its mysterious ancient history reveal itself to Jiang Ping.
He also saw the land covered in white, with human ancestors holding stone spears in the Ice Age, fighting against the heavens, the earth, and the Mammoth!
He saw the first ancient ape to eat cooked food after a forest fire, the first ancient ape to descend from the trees, the massive and domineering Tyrannosaurus Rex galloping across the land, the Pterosaurs spreading their wings to blot out the sky, and that huge meteorite that destroyed the dinosaur dynasty!
The scene of the meteorite destroying the world left Jiang Ping shocked. Under such Heaven and Earth Great Power, individual strength was so insignificant.
He also saw the ancestors of mammals struggling to survive on the ancient earth, giant primitive insects dominating the ancient world, ferns growing wildly on the ground, and the first strange ancient fish crawling out of the ocean to become the first Amphibious Animal!
Tracing back further, the Cambrian Explosion left Jiang Ping stunned. One strange creature after another was breathtaking; they showed what a miracle of life was, their bizarre appearances challenging Jiang Ping's imagination.
He saw the first single-celled organism born in the ocean, and the 3,000-meter-thick ice sheet covering everything from the North and South Poles to the equator! The entire Earth turned into a frozen planet, silent and still; it was hard to imagine any cell could survive under such conditions.
Jiang Ping looked at everything before him in shock, forgetting why he was even there. His entire soul felt as if it were about to dissipate into the vast history of the planet, but fortunately, the mysterious book in his mind jolted, awakening Jiang Ping's soul just as it was about to get lost.
The Earth continued to reverse and backtrack. Jiang Ping witnessed the movement and fusion of the Continental Plates, and the Pangaea Supercontinent where all the world's landmasses merged together!
He saw the birth of the atmosphere, the birth of the oceans, the appearance of organic matter, the constant eruption of volcanoes, and the hellish environment of the early Earth.
"It's actually still tracing back!" Jiang Ping was shocked in his heart. He saw how the massive Earth slowly collided and grew from a small fragment, and how the moon was knocked out of the Earth by an Extraterrestrial Meteorite.
A ray of light flew from the Earth's original position toward the sun, and Jiang Ping's consciousness followed the light to witness the birth of the sun.
Nebulae, star clusters, Supernova Explosions, giant Black Holes devouring stars, and then the starting point of time—the ultimate and original Cosmic Big Bang!
Amidst the endless light, Jiang Ping suddenly felt his own body. He had returned. He was still just opening the mysterious book; the long journey just now seemed to have lasted only an instant, and the sound of frog croaking from the summer night outside was incessant.
Jiang Ping closed the book with a "snap." At this moment, three large characters had appeared on the ancient and simple cover: "Creation Diary"!
Jiang Ping opened his eyes wide, unable to believe that the mysterious book which had just taken him to see the origin of the universe actually had such an earth-shattering name.
"Ding!" A voice appeared out of thin air in Jiang Ping's mind. "Companion Creature binding successful. Creation Diary officially activated."
"Who are you?" Jiang Ping asked the voice with his consciousness. The voice did not seem to contain self-awareness; it sounded more like a mechanical system prompt.
"I am the Creation Diary in your hands. I do not know how I came to be, only that my duty is to find a master and then create all things."
The corner of Jiang Ping's mouth curled up. "Then can you create the universe and all things as they are now?"
"The real Great Universe is far beyond what I can currently create. I can only create seemingly real, seemingly fake Minor Worlds for now, and it requires consuming precious Primal Points."
Jiang Ping felt a bit disappointed. He had thought he had encountered some Super Divine Artifact that would allow him to become a Creation God, but it turned out to be a fake—it couldn't create a real world. Wasn't that just like playing a sandbox game? It was only for entertainment and useless for real life.
Seeming to sense its master's disappointment, the Creation Diary continued: "The worlds I can currently create are equivalent to your Minor Worlds. They are seemingly false yet real; to say they are false, the world does exist, but to say they are real, they cannot affect your Third-dimensional space. However, by consuming precious Primal Points, one can manifest items from the Minor World. And as I upgrade step by step, it is not impossible to eventually truly create a Third-dimensional Great Thousand World."
Jiang Ping laughed. He had indeed thought too much about reaching the sky in a single bound. Now, listening to the Creation Diary's explanation, it had infinite potential. But what were the Primal Points it kept mentioning? It seemed everything required them. Jiang Ping asked his question.
"Primal Points are the one and the ten thousand; they can evolve all things and interfere with the third dimension. My main body can only accumulate one point every hundred years. The current initial balance is 1200 points, and each point should be used with caution! Once the points are depleted, they can only be re-accumulated over a long period of time."
Jiang Ping discovered that Genesis cared for nothing, yet it placed the utmost importance on Primal Points. It seemed they were truly extraordinary things.
"Can Primal Points interfere with reality? Can they make me a god?" Jiang Ping asked curiously. Could these points really be omnipotent?
"If Primal Points are used to strengthen the master's body, they are sufficient to push your physical form to its limit. Your cell activity would be greatly enhanced; you currently have a lifespan of only 100 years, but after reinforcement, your maximum lifespan would reach 1,000 years."
Jiang Ping's eyes lit up. Birth, aging, sickness, and death were things no one could escape, but hearing Genesis now, it seemed that with Primal Points, one could transcend life and death?
"What other greater uses do Primal Points have? Besides accumulating them slowly, how else can I earn more?" Jiang Ping asked, slightly excited.
The voice of Genesis remained steady, as if nothing but Primal Points could command its attention. "It is not recommended for the master to use precious points to strengthen yourself. The initial points are the master's initial capital. The best method of use is to create a Minor World. As the life within the Minor World flourishes and grows powerful, they will provide feedback to me upon their death. Using initial points for direct reinforcement is the lowest form of utilization; it is no different from using gold to forge farm tools."
Jiang Ping nodded. It would be a pity to use precious points directly for reinforcement. It seemed they had to be used for creating worlds!
"Fine, fine. If you don't bait the hook, you won't catch the fish. Today I shall plant 100 points, and when I harvest them in the future, they will become 1,000. It seems I must honestly develop this great cause of farming. What's more, by becoming transcendent myself, I might find opportunities within the Minor World. This is the most cost-effective path!"
Once he thought it through, Jiang Ping was suddenly enlightened. Ever since he followed Genesis to witness the origin of the universe, the birth of the sun, and other cosmic histories, his horizons had been greatly opened.
A famous historian once said: If a person can immerse themselves in historical realization, they must have attained true knowledge, for historical experience is the richest treasure trove of wisdom. Moreover, what Jiang Ping had witnessed was the truth of the entire universe; if not for the help of Genesis, he would have gone mad in that instant.
If Jiang Ping were to take exams in geography, biology, or other subjects now, he could easily obtain a university degree.
"Thinking about it this way, why does the functionality of this Genesis feel a bit like the creation diary of that Chubby Blue cat I watched as a child?" Thinking this, Jiang Ping laughed at himself. Could this mysterious Genesis really have been dropped by that Chubby Blue cat?
Primal Points were very precious; normally, it took a hundred years of accumulation to gain one. Jiang Ping decided to carefully plan how to use his initial 1,200 points. He already had a massive creation plan in his heart, but he needed to plot it out in detail and conduct some tests first. This was his initial capital, and he could not be careless. One wrong move, and it was possible to lose everything.
In the long night, Jiang Ping communicated constantly with Genesis, beginning to prepare for his journey of creation. Jiang Ping discovered that while it was difficult for Genesis to create things out of thin air, it could easily replicate anything as long as there was a template. Touching the "creation" capital in his pocket, it seemed he would have to suffer a big loss tomorrow! Jiang Ping sighed inwardly; there was no business more cost-effective than exchanging money for points.
"I must remind the master: while backtracking through history just now, I discovered an asteroid heading toward Earth."
"What?" Jiang Ping was greatly surprised. Genesis truly didn't stop until the shocking words were spoken. It hadn't reminded him of such a critical matter as a meteorite hitting Earth at the first time. He had seen the meteorite impact that destroyed the dinosaurs; under such a world-destroying disaster, 99% of life would find it difficult to survive.
Jiang Ping hurriedly took out the notebook he had brought to search. He found that only the asteroid Apophis frequently visits Earth. Apophis, also known as the Destroyer God Star, was shown online as not being on a direct collision course, merely passing by. It seemed some change humans hadn't discovered had caused the asteroid to change its orbit.
Having witnessed the magic of Genesis, Jiang Ping believed its words even more. Genesis was clearly something left behind by an existence far beyond human civilization!
"How long until it hits Earth?" Jiang Ping asked insistently.
"According to your time, this asteroid will strike Earth in about 20 years," Genesis said calmly.
Jiang Ping's heart tightened. Don't speak of a world-destroying crisis so lightly! 20 years is not short, but it is not long either.
"Do you have any good solutions?" Jiang Ping asked, frowning. He had finally encountered a miracle, yet he didn't want a world-destroying crisis to arrive as well.
"With current human technology, resolving this asteroid is very troublesome. Even if you shatter it, the fragments will turn into countless meteorites falling on Earth. Master, you had best manage your world well. In a Minor World, you can control time and space and adjust time acceleration. Perhaps in one year, you could become transcendent and reach godhood. Of course, if the management fails and you deplete your points, then sitting and waiting for death is also a high probability."
The corner of Jiang Ping's mouth twitched. Genesis was sometimes very sharp-tongued, perhaps because it analyzed things with complete rationality. However, it was right. With an additional sense of crisis regarding the world's destruction, he had to create his world even better. After all, he now had an additional mission to save the world!
"Then, let's start being a Creator God from today!" Jiang Ping looked at the dark night outside the window and smiled.
Newbie seeks collection and recommendation. Actually, this book was originally called "Starting Today, I'm a Creator God," which is the sentence at the end of the first chapter, but the first chapter could never pass the review, so I finally changed it to this name.
