Stark Industries, New York, USA.
Steve and Bucky found Howard again. "Mr. Stark, any news yet?" Alex had been gone for over a month, and there had been no word during that time. They were very worried and came to inquire frequently.
Seeing Steve and Bucky arrive again, Howard felt a headache coming on. He was also very worried about Alex's safety, so much so that he had contacted many people to search for news about Alex, including high-ranking officials in the British and French armies. Unfortunately, there had been no news. Howard was now afraid to see Alex's friends, especially Marilyn Monroe.
Howard didn't know what to say, so he could only force a bitter smile and remain silent.
Steve and Bucky's faces darkened, a little disappointed. "Then Mr. Stark, we'll be going. Please be sure to notify us if you hear anything!"
Howard sighed, thinking to himself, "Alex, where on earth are you!"
Auschwitz Concentration Camp, Poland.
After a day of labor, the concentration camp quickly fell into silence. Jacob and Marx were also lying in bed early, as if the morning's news had been forgotten. But Alex knew very well that they were just hiding their hatred deep in their hearts, waiting for the day it would erupt.
Alex lay on the bed, his eyes open, staring blankly at the wooden board in front of him. He was thinking about the scene of Marx's outburst that morning. "Although the timing is off, in the Marvel Universe, besides Magneto, no one else can control metal. Marx must be Magneto."
"With Magneto, escaping Auschwitz shouldn't be a problem." Alex turned his head to look at the bedside. A piece of iron there had been lifted up; this was caused by Marx in the morning. "Marx has just awakened his X-Gene ability and can't control metal as freely as the seasoned Magneto in the movies. I need to find a way to train his abilities."
While recalling scenes from the movie, Alex's attention was involuntarily drawn to the piece of iron. Then, something astonishing happened to Alex: the iron piece inexplicably bent!
"Marx?" Alex immediately thought of Marx and poked his head out to look at the third tier, where Marx's bed was. But to Alex's surprise, Marx showed no abnormality. His breathing was steady, and the bending of the iron piece didn't seem to be caused by him.
Alex looked around with some trepidation. Could there be a second Magneto?
After searching for a long time, Alex found no one acting strangely. The entire brick house, except for himself, was fast asleep!
In his surprise, Alex looked at the piece of iron again. It had indeed bent. After staring at it for a long time, the iron piece suddenly moved again. It wasn't bending anymore, but was returning to its place by the bed.
"It was me?!" Alex covered his mouth, his face full of disbelief.
Realizing the possibility of a second Magneto, Alex became very cautious, extending his psionic power to closely observe his surroundings. But just now, Alex suddenly felt a flash of inspiration in his mind, and the previously stationary iron piece moved again!
With immense surprise, Alex tried to actively control the iron piece. To his astonishment, the iron piece indeed lifted off the bed again, just as he had thought. Alex then tried to control a shovel placed by the bedside, and the shovel flew into the air as he wished, constantly changing its shape according to his will.
Watching the shovel twisting and turning in mid-air, Alex couldn't help but get excited.
Teleportation was indeed very powerful, but it was much weaker in combat, unless Alex could recover to his previous life's level of unrestricted teleportation. Therefore, Alex had always hoped to possess a powerful combat skill. This sudden ability finally granted his wish. In his excitement, Alex even forgot to train his psionic power, spending the entire night playing with the shovel and various other metal objects.
The piercing bell rang again, and the deathly silent brick house instantly came back to life, everyone busy.
Alex also woke up. He didn't remember what time he had played until last night, only falling into a deep sleep when his spirit could no longer hold on. After sleeping, Alex had only recovered a little energy, and dark circles had appeared under his eyes.
Seeing Alex's sleepy appearance, Jacob looked concerned. "Alex, are you alright?"
Alex waved his hand, the excitement from last night still lingering on his face. "I'm fine, I'm great!" As he spoke, Alex had a thought, wanting to play with the metal piece by the bed again.
But to Alex's surprise, the metal piece didn't move at all.
"What's going on? It was fine last night." Alex couldn't accept it. Was last night all an illusion?
Seeing Alex's expression suddenly change, Jacob became even more worried. He had only learned the bad news about his wife and daughter yesterday, and he didn't want to see anything happen to Alex.
Marx also reached out and took Alex's hand, saying softly with a hint of a cry, "Brother Alex, please don't be alright!" It had to be said that Alex had great rapport with children, and Marx trusted him very much.
The familiar electric current once again flowed from Marx's small hand to Alex's palm, traveling up his arm and throughout his body, causing a tingling sensation. The same feeling instantly reminded Alex of yesterday morning.
Alex lowered his head to look at Marx, a thought suddenly popping into his mind: "Did I absorb the ability to control metal from Marx? Will it disappear after a while?"
Thinking this, Alex turned his gaze to the iron piece by the bed. As expected, the iron piece twisted.
"I'm not Magneto, I'm Rogue!" Alex thought of Rogue from the movie. Rogue's ability was to absorb others' powers and use them as her own. "This isn't bad either, I can use different abilities."
Thinking of Rogue, Alex's expression suddenly changed again. He looked down at Marx and found that he was perfectly fine, with no changes. "Why isn't Marx reacting at all?" In the movie, anyone Rogue touched had their powers drained, making them feel like they were dying. Even Wolverine, who had extremely powerful self-healing abilities, almost died at her hands.
Before Alex could figure it out, Jacob grabbed him and pulled him out of the brick house. If they were any later, they would be beaten.
Throughout the day, Alex came into contact with Marx several times. The tingling electric current would appear each time, and the pleasant sensation made Alex feel like he was flying in the clouds. Marx, on the other hand, showed no reaction whatsoever, not even changing his expression.
In the evening, after eating a piece of black bread, Alex pulled Marx to a corner, still holding a piece of iron he had removed from the bed.
"Marx, try to control this piece of iron." Alex was always worried that absorbing Marx's abilities like this would harm Marx, and that Marx might lose his abilities. He needed to test it.
Marx looked at Alex with surprise, not understanding what Alex meant.
"Stare at this piece of iron, use your thoughts, your will, whatever it is, think in your mind, you want to control it, control it!" Alex's psionic power was very strong, so he could control metal quickly and skillfully. But Marx couldn't; he needed practice.
Marx didn't understand, but he still did as Alex said.
After a long time, the iron piece remained motionless.
"Anger!" Alex was somewhat disappointed. Another idea popped into his mind, which was how Sebastian Shaw in the movie stimulated Magneto's abilities. "Your mother and sister were brutally murdered, you want revenge, you want to kill them all..."
Before Alex could finish speaking, he saw the iron piece in his hand slowly fly up.
"Good, Marx, remember this feeling." Alex patted Marx, waking him from his anger. Alex didn't want Marx to live his entire life in anger. "Learn and control this ability. It's the only way for us to leave here."
