Alex lay in the glass room, watching Zola work for two days. A strangely shaped machine gradually took shape, appearing to be the device for converting the Tesseract's energy. At this moment, Alex suddenly wasn't in a hurry anymore. He waited for Red Skull to appear with the Tesseract.
On the third day, Red Skull appeared in the laboratory on time. At this time, only Zola remained in the laboratory; the other scientists had been dismissed.
Red Skull placed the wooden box in his hand aside and looked at Zola, who was debugging in front of the machine. He asked anxiously, "Are you ready, Doctor Zola?"
"This instrument requires extremely precise calibration." After a slight pause, Zola continued, "Please forgive me, I must ensure there are no mistakes."
Red Skull idly flipped through the materials on the lab bench, then turned to look at Zola and asked with some worry, "Are you sure those soldiers can withstand this energy surge? Can they accept this transformation?"
"In front of this device, I can't be sure of anything." Zola walked around the main body of the machine to the front and said with a hint of regret, "I'm even worried it won't work at all!"
Alex leaned casually against the glass wall of the glass room, leisurely watching the nervous Zola and Red Skull, constantly calculating in his mind. He wanted to attack them both in the ensuing chaos and then use the Tesseract's power to escape.
At this moment, Red Skull opened the wooden box, and a brilliant blue light burst forth, dazzling and captivating. This was the legendary Tesseract, the supreme treasure left on Earth by Odin, the ruler of Asgard.
Red Skull used pliers to grip the constantly glowing Tesseract and placed it in the holder behind the machine. Then, he turned his head to look at Zola with anticipation.
Zola instantly snapped out of his daze, put on his ridiculous goggles, and carefully turned the knobs on the instrument: "20%... 40%... 60%... stable at 70%."
Zola wanted to stop, but the aggressive Red Skull was unwilling. He pushed forward, shoving Zola aside, and quickly turned the knob with his right hand: "I didn't go to all this trouble just to be safe, Doctor!"
Suddenly, the Tesseract erupted with even more intense light. Wisps of blue light traveled through the wires throughout the entire laboratory, engulfing it in blue light for a time. Red Skull and Zola were stunned by the scene before them, gaping.
"Now!" Alex whispered, and Teleportation was immediately activated. He suddenly appeared behind Red Skull, grabbed the iron hammer beside him, and put all his strength into smashing it down hard on Red Skull's head. In the movie, Red Skull and Captain America fought to a draw, showcasing immense power, so Alex aimed for a decisive blow.
However, to Alex's horror, after one blow, Red Skull stumbled but did not fall. He quickly turned around, his facial skin seeming to collapse and peel off his face, revealing a bright red face underneath.
"Kid, you're looking for death!" Red Skull roared, charging forward like a fierce tiger.
Alex had never learned martial arts in either of his lives, so he was no match for Red Skull. Seeing Red Skull charging at him, he quickly threw away the hammer and turned to run.
Having witnessed Red Skull's power, Alex was filled only with fear. In his panic, Alex ran next to the Tesseract's holder. He looked down at the Tesseract, then at the rapidly approaching Red Skull. Helpless, Alex grabbed the Tesseract with both hands.
Alex remembered that besides possessing infinite energy, the Tesseract also possessed spatial power, capable of opening portals. In the movie Captain America, Red Skull was teleported away by the Tesseract; in The Avengers, Loki used the Tesseract to open a portal, summoning the Chitauri.
Alex didn't know if he could open the Tesseract's spatial portal, nor did he know where it would send him if he did. But in this situation, Alex had no choice but to take the risk.
A rainbow-like light suddenly shot out from the Tesseract, completely engulfing Alex. A moment later, the rainbow-like light disappeared, and Alex vanished with it. The Tesseract suddenly dimmed and fell from mid-air, instantly melting a pit of the same size in the ground.
Red Skull and Zola were stunned. After a long moment of shock, they recovered. One of them rushed to pick up the Tesseract, while the other nervously approached Red Skull and whispered, "What just happened? How did he suddenly disappear? That wasn't teleportation, I know!"
After re-stowing the Tesseract, Red Skull turned to Zola. Just as he was about to speak, he noticed a block of blue energy suddenly appear on the other side of the machine, looking very similar to the Tesseract.
"I must congratulate you, Arnim!" Red Skull excitedly grabbed Zola, pointing at the blue energy block not far away, extremely thrilled. "Your design has not disappointed me!" He then looked around and added, "Although it still needs a bit of reinforcement."
Zola was also very excited, staring intently at the blue energy block, not hiding his pride. "The conversion process was very stable!"
"It's magical. This energy source you mentioned has made all my designs a reality!" Zola said, excitedly taking off his goggles. "This will change this war!"
"Doctor Zola, this will change the entire world!" Red Skull said, not hiding his ambition at all, his aura full of power.
While Red Skull and Zola were excited about the successful energy conversion, Alex felt as if he had a dream. When he woke up, he found himself lying in bed in his Brooklyn apartment.
After a long moment of stunned silence, Alex came to his senses. Looking down at the leather suit he was wearing, Alex finally confirmed he wasn't dreaming. He had truly returned to New York from the European continent in an instant, crossing over six thousand kilometers in a flash!
"Could it be the Tesseract?" Alex wondered, attributing everything to the Tesseract. "Perhaps my Teleportation also played a part." Alex thought that when he grabbed the Tesseract, he had been thinking of home.
"Regardless, it's good that I'm back!" Alex shook his head, casting aside the jumbled thoughts in his mind, and comforted himself with a light chuckle. "Perhaps I should let them know I'm safe."
As soon as he finished speaking, Alex suddenly realized that his sudden return from Europe to America was a bit unnerving, and he needed to come up with a reason. After much thought, Alex couldn't find any acceptable reason and couldn't help but complain, "If only it had sent me to England, it would have saved so much trouble."
As soon as he finished speaking, Alex found himself no longer in his Brooklyn apartment but standing on a street. Dark clouds loomed overhead, threatening rain, and even the air felt damp.
"Is this London?" Alex stared blankly at the unfamiliar yet familiar streetscape around him, which seemed to be the same street he had walked on his first visit to London. "How did I end up here?"
After standing still for a moment, Alex suddenly thought of a possibility: "Has my Teleportation recovered?"
With a single thought, he could travel a thousand miles in an instant!
Thinking of his Brooklyn apartment again, Alex instantly disappeared from the London street and returned to his Brooklyn apartment in a flash!
"It's really back!" Alex couldn't help but jump up excitedly, shouting to vent his boundless joy. "Tesseract, I love you to death!"
