"Why don't we just return and blow up Hydra's base!" Natasha stepped forward, looking at the display on the plane, and gestured with her fingers, "Based on the plane's speed and altitude, it's enough for it to glide back to the Hydra base."
Alex shook his head repeatedly upon hearing this, "Of course not, there are many missiles in the plane, and their explosion would be enough to destroy the entire European continent, causing many deaths! With Red Skull dead, Hydra is mine, why would I do something so foolish!"
Steve put the shield on his back, nodded, and said with joy, "Alex, it's great that you can think like this!" Steve had a good heart and hoped his brother could be like him.
Alex smiled subtly and nodded, "We don't have much time, we should go back!"
As soon as he finished speaking, Alex unleashed his Psionic Power, enveloping everyone, and instantly returned to the base. After setting everyone down, Alex Teleported back to the Batwing aircraft. Checking the direction, Alex piloted the powerless plane, gliding towards the north.
A moment later, the Batwing aircraft crashed into the thick ice layer of the Arctic, then gradually fell silent, sinking beneath the ice river and disappearing.
As the plane crashed, Alex had already used Teleportation to leave. He appeared not at the Howling Commandos' camp, but beside Strucker.
After a day of repair, Strucker's injuries had completely recovered. He was resting in a Hydra base, looking majestic. However, upon seeing Alex suddenly appear, Strucker's expression changed drastically. He waved away the Hydra soldiers around him and respectfully shouted, "Master!"
"Red Skull is dead, take over Hydra immediately!" Alex said to Strucker expressionlessly.
Strucker's expression changed. He knew very well how powerful Red Skull was, otherwise, he wouldn't have been overthrown by Red Skull back then. What he didn't expect was that Alex had said Red Skull would die yesterday, and today Red Skull was truly dead. This made Strucker even more in awe of Alex.
"Once you have complete control of Hydra, go into hiding immediately!" Alex gave Strucker a cold look, his voice laced with threat, "Hydra is not to appear again without my command!"
"I will obey Master's command!" Strucker dared not object and loudly agreed.
Alex said no more, disappearing in a flash and instantly returning to the camp.
In the camp, Steve and the others were waiting anxiously. Seeing Alex return safely, their last bit of worry vanished.
"Carter, the mission is complete!" Alex signaled to everyone, then turned to Carter, who was smiling, "Report the good news to them, Schmidt is dead, and the world will not be destroyed. They can rest easy!"
Carter smiled charmingly, turned, and strode out of the camp.
"Guys, what do you think the command will reward us with this time? Will there be a Victoria Cross?" Nick rubbed his chin with his right hand, looking at Alex with envy, "I've envied Alex for a long time!"
Alex felt a numb sensation on his tongue, his face contorted in a bitter, conflicted expression, "I hate British food!" British food had left a terrible impression on him.
"Alex!" Just then, Vivien Leigh walked in from outside and happened to hear Alex's words. She said somewhat angrily, "Although British food isn't as good as Chinese food, it's not as terrible as you say!"
"Alright, I'll take back what I said!" Alex shrugged, secretly rolling his eyes.
Natasha stepped forward, blocking Alex as Vivien Leigh seemed to want to say more. Her beautiful face showed deep anticipation, "I also really want to know what reward the command will give us." She paused slightly and then said proudly, "We saved the world."
"We are soldiers, it is our responsibility to protect our country!" Steve weakly called out, but his words didn't resonate with anyone. No one paid him any attention.
Logan held a cigar between his fingers, showing a rare hint of anticipation, "I have no other requests, I just hope to smoke a top-quality cigar. I heard Churchill has many good cigars!"
"Steve, please come with me to the command post!" Carter returned, a faint smile on her face.
Steve looked at Carter with confusion, pointed at Alex and the others, and asked in surprise, "Just me? They're not going?"
"Yes, this is an order from the command post," Carter nodded slowly, "It's just to report on the mission."
Steve nodded and left with Carter.
However, after a moment, Steve returned, his expression furious. Carter, following behind him, had the same expression.
Alex rarely saw Steve look like this and asked with some concern, "What's wrong, Steve?"
Steve looked up at Alex, opened his mouth, and stammered for a long time without uttering a word.
Seeing Steve's state, Alex knew he wouldn't get anything from him. He turned to Carter, "Carter?"
"The mission rewards have been issued by the command post," Carter turned to Steve and said softly, "The Medal of Honor."
"Medal of Honor?" After receiving the Victoria Cross, Alex had specifically learned about medals. The Medal of Honor was America's highest and most difficult to obtain medal. All its recipients were powerful figures in American history. "This is a good thing, why aren't you happy?"
Carter hesitated for a moment, then looked up at Alex and the others, her face full of indignation, "The Medal of Honor is only awarded to Steve alone. The other members of the Howling Commandos only received the Victoria Cross."
"Alex, I told them that the success of this mission was all thanks to you, and the Medal of Honor should have been awarded to you," Steve looked at Alex with guilt, "But they still refused."
"It's just a medal, why are you so angry?" Alex shrugged, looking indifferent, "What does it matter if I have it or not?"
Looking at Steve's unchanged expression, Alex scanned everyone present and continued with a light laugh, "Do you know where I put that Victoria Cross?"
"Where did you put it?" After hearing Carter's words, Nick also became angry, feeling it was unfair to Alex.
Alex spread his hands, frowned, and thought for a long time before saying, "Actually, I've forgotten where I put it. Maybe it's in some trash heap."
Steve looked at Alex and shouted, "Alex!"
"Alright, Alex, it's no big deal, it's just a piece of metal," Alex patted Steve's shoulder to comfort him, then changed the subject, "Red Skull is dead, and the destruction of Hydra is a foregone conclusion. The European battlefield no longer needs me. I've decided to go to Asia to help my homeland."
"Alex!" Steve suddenly stood up, looking at Alex with grief and indignation, "Alex, don't go, I will definitely help you get a Medal of Honor!"
Seeing Steve turn to leave the camp, Alex quickly reached out and stopped him, saying with a wry smile, "Steve, my departure has nothing to do with this!"
"In fact, I've had this idea for a long time!" Alex said, placating Steve, "I am of Chinese descent. When China is in trouble, I should help."
"But…" Steve looked at Alex with suspicion.
"Steve, Hydra is destroyed, and **'s defeat is imminent," Alex raised his head, images of wartime photos from his past life flashing through his mind, his expression turning grim, "But in my homeland, the little Japanese are bullying my countrymen. They are crying, they are bleeding, I must go back to help them, it is my responsibility."
