Emma's expression shifted slightly at his words, a sharp glint flashing through her eyes as she looked at Shaw before vanishing in an instant. She took a deep breath, then turned to Alex and said in a low voice, "All right!"
At that moment, Logan and Natasha had met up in the bar, both wearing disappointed expressions.
"Where's Alex?" Natasha turned toward the dance floor but did not spot Alex. He was tall and had black hair, so he should have been easy to pick out in a crowd.
Logan looked over as well and failed to find Alex. A thought struck him, and he suddenly said, "Could he have run into Shaw?"
"Come on, we need to help him!" The moment Logan finished speaking, Natasha dashed off.
Logan shook his head gloomily, took the cigar from his mouth, and ran after Natasha. As he ran, he shouted, "You don't even know where Alex is. How are you going to help?"
"We'll find him!" Natasha did not slow down, weaving through the crowded dance floor like a fish through water.
Compared to Natasha's graceful ease, Logan's approach was far more direct. Anyone blocking his path was shoved aside. No one could stop him; it was brutally forceful. Faced with the burly Logan, no one dared provoke him and simply let him pass.
In the backstage room, Emma stopped once again. Her pretty face had gone slightly pale, and fine beads of sweat had formed on her smooth forehead.
"Did you find anything?" Shaw stepped forward impatiently, his large hands tightly gripping Emma's arms, his face full of anxiety.
Emma panted a few times, then shook her head and explained helplessly, "His mind is far too strong. I can only sense a few insignificant memories. The moment it involves anything secret,
