Wizard: I Have a Skill Tree

The Devil's Cage
Ch. 2

9/10 this will be my 3rd time reading this series, each time I've found it genuinely interesting and unique, especially considering that it finished half a decade ago. I had it translated on here since the site I used to read it is now gone.

I don't know what to say. I thought the premise was interesting the main characters were somewhat amusing and their schemes were pretty wild.
However I'm not a big fan of chicken strips (ifykyk) and some of the harem-y elements were a bit much for me.
The shameless character makes it difficult to read at times, but what is truly shameless is the author... like what the hell was that?! In what world is that an ending. I honestly can't recommend this to anyone because of the strange 'final chapter' that comes out of the blue leaving so many major plot threads unresolved.

Wizard: Starting with Synthetic Gems
Ch. 1119
good

A somewhat unique story, with interesting paths to power, heavy lovecraftian and body horror themes.
9/10 would recommend reading if you enjoy horror, lovecraft, or thrillers.

Would not recommend if you have issues reading about gore, insects, holes in places they shouldn't be, and an overwhelming amount of eyes.

Update: Novel still good, hasn't fallen off, or added much filler. If anything I'd rate it slightly higher now.

A staggering disappointment.
The premise has promise, the opening chapters the first 50-100 are good. I'm interested in the world building and excited to see where things go.
Main antagonist is killed unceremoniously by a random boss monster, oh... I thought they were going somewhere with this. They've been setting up a confrontation.
A character important to the MC's backstory and who starts with him in the mortal world, is mentioned repeatedly and seems to be building towards something. Unceremoniously killed off.
Big giant death scorpion who is actually a remnant soul from the spirit world and is looking like the next antagonist. Dies pathetically.
Honestly I'm not even sure what the main character is trying to do now. Like he doesnt seem to have a goal besides increasing his cultivation. No motivation. Also the timeline is wildly inconsistent. Sometimes the author says 10 years have passed, then the next chapter it will say it's been 2 years, and the next will say 5, or 1.

Something is very clearly wrong and the quality of the chapters vary drastically.
First 100 ish chapters
Solid and consistent if something I've read before 7/10
Chapters 100-200
It seems like some chapters might be missing and some scenes dont make sense and the writing quality has dropped. 5/10
200+
Makes no sense, many scenes are disjointed, and the writing quality has hit the floor. Plus even the power ceiling of a lot of characters are still just doing the same quick side step to dodge a blade from chapter 10. 3/10

Decent world building, a likeable hardworking protagonist, and a relatively wholesome story so far. Nothing too special, but a straight forward albeit somewhat cliche read.

The Death Mage's Diary
Ch. 1056
good

Strange, twisted magic. A fully complete tale that has a decent ending, almost no filler, full of thrills and kills. Unlike some other novels the author manages to stay remarkably constant throughout, while I prefer the first few hundred chapters of the tale, the later half is still well written and well done, unlike so many other novels.
10/10 absolute must read.

A typical overpowered protagonist story, although unlike some cold, power hungry MC's in the genre Chen Mo walks a good balance. Paying back kindness with kindness and enmity with violence. It's nice that he has some bonds and prioritizes some people. Ths final arc of the story and the ending however are... rushed and leave things unresolved which brings the entire story down a notch. 6/10

Global Survival: Island Lord Begins
Ch. 139
bad

While the plot itself is decent, the System is fun and the premise is somewhat interesting, the overall work is brought down due to the extreme amount of xenophobia and racism displayed by the main character mainly.
4/10 there are better things to read.
