Background / History

Qian Xunji and the Secret Chamber

Bibi Dong was Qian Xunji’s disciple. He imprisoned her in a concealed chamber, sealed her Martial Soul with Spirit Hall’s Soul Sealing Chains, and sexually assaulted her. She gave birth to Qian Renxue during that imprisonment 2 126.

She later became Gu Shenggo’s principal teacher despite Qian Xunji being his nominal master. She raised him for more than ten years, but attempted to shape his thinking for her own purposes. Her punishments also became an outlet for her hatred of Qian Xunji, leaving extensive scars on Gu Shenggo’s back 1 2 200.

Killing Qian Xunji and Taking Power

After Tang Hao severely injured Qian Xunji, Bibi Dong persuaded Gu Shenggo to help her kill their teacher. Gu Shenggo’s account identifies her promise to spare Qian Renxue from the Heaven Dou infiltration mission as the reason he agreed 2 46.

Immediately afterward, Bibi Dong caught Gu Shenggo off guard and sealed his Martial Soul and Soul Power with the same chains once used against her. She imprisoned him for five years, while publicly declaring that he had murdered Qian Xunji and that she had executed him. Spirit Hall accepted her accession as Pope 2 3 51.

Her account was not universally accepted. Qian Daoliu gave Spirit Hall’s Titled Douluo a different explanation: Qian Xunji had died from his injuries, and Gu Shenggo had left with his whereabouts unknown 59.

Gu Shenggo’s Escape and Shi Qi’s Birth

During Gu Shenggo’s imprisonment, Bibi Dong tortured him with Spider Emperor venom. When he appeared to have died from an injection, she regretted using too much poison and prepared to detoxify him. His Shadow of Time instead caught her off guard, enabling his escape 2 3.

Gu Shenggo then subjected her to two days of sexual violence before leaving Spirit Hall. Pregnant afterward, Bibi Dong considered ending the pregnancy but retained it as part of a plan involving the child’s potential inheritance of his time Martial Soul 3 13 51 125.

Their daughter, Shi Qi, inherited Kekeddi. Bibi Dong publicly presented her as an adopted daughter and the younger sister of the former Holy Son, Qian Shiyu—Gu Shenggo’s previous identity. She raised Shi Qi with conspicuous affection while planning to use her time abilities to return to the past 54 56 125.

Reunion and Revenge

Seven years after his escape, Gu Shenggo returned to Spirit Hall. Bibi Dong introduced Shi Qi to him as his “younger sister,” deliberately denying him public recognition as her father and taking pleasure in his discomfort 56 57 58.

Bibi Dong hoped to become a god before exacting revenge. She preferred the prospect of imprisoning and tormenting Gu Shenggo indefinitely to killing him outright. However, her attacks could no longer overcome his strength 57 58 86.

Memory Alteration

Gu Shenggo later offered Bibi Dong the Heaven and Earth Creation Pill and began presenting affection as an alternative to overt force. She asked him to send her into the past, but he refused 125.

He subsequently entered her Sea of Consciousness without consent and rewrote the memory of Qian Xunji’s assault, inserting himself as her rescuer. This was a fabricated memory, not an actual change to the past. Bibi Dong remained aware that her memories had been altered, but the false rescue felt increasingly real; Qian Renxue’s existence continued to remind her of what had actually happened 126 127 178.

The alteration did not immediately erase her resentment. She attacked him with her Martial Soul Avatar, only to be immobilized by his Formless Realm God Power 127.

Later Relationship and Political Events

Bibi Dong eventually became more proactive in her encounters with Gu Shenggo, taking satisfaction in briefly reversing their usual power dynamic. Nevertheless, his manipulation and coercion continued, including trapping her aboard the Radiant Divine Boat during her expedition to obtain Hu Liena’s fourth soul ring 176 177 178.

Following the disappearance of the Star Dou Great Forest, Spirit Hall’s controlled soul-beast breeding forests became increasingly important. Bibi Dong observed that more than a thousand young Soul Masters had joined Spirit Hall within a few days amid the continent’s upheavals 199.

Gu Shenggo later used Yu Xiaogang’s Pope’s Order to frighten her into believing he had harmed her first love. She pleaded for Yu Xiaogang’s safety and also tried to protect Hu Liena from Gu Shenggo. Despite her growing attachment to him, Bibi Dong remained unwilling to acknowledge those feelings openly 199 200 201.

She agreed to crown Xue Ke as the new Heaven Dou ruler, but Qian Daoliu ultimately performed the ceremony in her place 200 205.

Appearance

Bibi Dong has a mature, dignified appearance and maintains a proud, cold bearing associated with her position as Pope 1 3 57.

  • Hair: Long wine-red hair with a purple tint; later described as slightly curled 3 124.
  • Eyes: Rose-red, with crimson or sinister purple-black light appearing during intense anger 13 58.
  • Attire: Papal robes, an ornate crown, and luxurious high heels; privately, she often wears pale-pink clothing 1 3 124 178.
  • Martial Soul Avatar: A three-meter-tall, half-human, half-spider form with scarlet eyes, a dark-red horned crown, armor, a barbed spider abdomen, and eight sharp legs 127.

Personality

Bibi Dong is authoritative, proud, and deeply concerned with maintaining her dignity. Even when distressed or embarrassed by Gu Shenggo, she tries to recover her composed public bearing 179 199.

Her desire for control extends to both family and disciples. She attempted to manipulate Gu Shenggo while raising him, and values Shi Qi’s obedience and adherence to her plans. Her tenderness toward Shi Qi contrasts sharply with her rejection of Qian Renxue, whom she associates with the humiliation inflicted by Qian Xunji 2 56 60.

Revenge is a persistent motive. Bibi Dong enjoys Gu Shenggo’s suffering and embarrassment, but later recognizes that some of her earlier cruelty toward him was displaced hatred of Qian Xunji. Her feelings eventually combine resentment, possessiveness, and attachment rather than resolving into simple forgiveness 57 86 200.

She is strongly averse to her own Martial Soul Avatar because she considers it ugly and frightening. Gu Shenggo’s praise of the form briefly surprises and moves her, without ending her wish to kill him 127.

Her second Martial Soul manifests with dark-green light, a spiderweb mark on her forehead, and three pairs of slimmer, sharper legs 58.

  • Eternal Wound: A defense-ignoring attack described as capable of piercing the Golden Body of a hundred-thousand-year Soft Bone Rabbit 58.
  • Interrupted use: Gu Shenggo restrains her before she can complete the attack during their reunion 58.

Martial Soul Avatar

Bibi Dong transforms into an armored half-human, half-spider combat form 127.

  • Mobility and offense: Moves at high speed and attacks with long, barbed legs capable of cutting an ordinary Soul Master in half 127.
  • Personal restriction: She generally avoids using it because of her disgust with its appearance 127.
  • Combat limitation: Gu Shenggo’s Formless Realm God Power freezes the avatar while leaving her thoughts active 127.

Divine Slaughter’s Domain

Bibi Dong releases a blood-red domain accompanied by dense killing intent, shrouding the Pope’s Bedchamber before attacking Gu Shenggo 127.

  • Qian Xunji — Former teacher and abuser; father of Qian Renxue. Bibi Dong helped Gu Shenggo kill him after Tang Hao left him severely injured 2.
