Background

Tang San was once a God King. After Xiao Wu's death in his former life, he scattered tens of thousands of years of cultivation, relinquished his God King position and his children, and chose to follow her in death. A remaining sliver of divine consciousness sought Xiao Wu's reincarnation instead, resulting in Tang San's rebirth at age thirteen, shortly after he passed Shrek Academy's entrance assessment. 65

Tang San regains awareness as a thirteen-year-old Shrek Academy student and resolves to protect Xiao Wu while rebuilding his power. His memories are immediately challenged by Ning Rongrong's innate Nine Treasures Glazed Tile Pagoda, an alteration he cannot explain. 65

Soul Hunting Town Conflict

During Shrek's journey toward the Star Dou Great Forest, Tang San worries that changes to the timeline may prevent him from obtaining the Eight Spider Lances. When Ma Hongjun provokes the Heavenly Water Girls, Tang San prepares a Dragon Whisker Needle for a possible confrontation. 101 102

Gu Shenggo reveals himself during the dispute after remaining undetected by Tang San's claimed divine sense. Tang San realizes that Gu Shenggo is dangerous but initially attributes his own failure to distraction rather than acknowledging the difference in power. 103

Loss of Shrek Allies

Tang San tries to stop Ning Rongrong from leaving Shrek because he anticipates needing her future martial-soul fusion ability to resurrect him. She refuses and summons Seven Treasure Glazed Tile Sect disciples to take her home. 105

Zhu Zhuqing subsequently withdraws from Shrek Academy to become Gu Shenggo's student, further severing Tang San's expected future support network. 112

A Future Denied

Gu Shenggo's system identifies Tang San as a reincarnation of the world's will and assigns Gu Shenggo the task of stripping Tang San of everything before killing him. By this point, Gu Shenggo has already taken opportunities associated with Tang San, including the Ice and Fire Yin Yang Well, Vast Sea Universe Cover, and Asura Demon Sword. 104

After the Star Dou Great Forest disappears, Tang San reaches level 35 but is frustrated by the loss of soul-beast resources and other opportunities from his remembered future. 192

When Ma Hongjun is confronted over burning women's skirts, Tang San attacks Huo Wu and Huo Wushuang with Blue Silver Entanglement. The flames of the siblings' fire-attributed Soul Power destroy his Blue Silver Grass, and Tang San, Xiao Wu, and Ma Hongjun are arrested by the City Guard. 193

At the Soul Master Tribunal, Gu Shenggo captures Xiao Wu after revealing her Hundred-Thousand-Year Soul Beast identity. Tang San attacks with the Dragon Whisker Needle, but Gu Shenggo reverses the weapon against him.
