Background / History
Yang Wudi leads the Breaking Clan, one of the Four Great Families formerly affiliated with the Clear Sky Sect. The clan specializes in refining medicine 331 347 351. At a gathering hosted by the Strength Clan, he objects to delaying the banquet for its new young master, Du Bai. He then spars with his longtime friend Titan and loses after Titan reveals his improved martial soul and strength 338 342 344.
Yang Wudi joins Bai He and Niu Gao in negotiating terms for their clans to serve Du Bai. They seek funding, cultivation resources, a test of Du Bai's strength, and backing against their enemies 352. Yang Wudi fights Du Bai first. Despite attacking with his Soul Breaking Spear and trying to block Du Bai's strongest strike, he suffers a near-fatal chest wound 356 361.
Du Bai heals him with a Great Returning Pill and offers the Breaking Clan five million Gold Soul Coins, while threatening to destroy it if Yang Wudi refuses. Yang Wudi says he is personally willing to join, but asks to consult Bai He and Niu Gao before deciding for all three clans 377 378.
