Background & History

Spirit Hall is a powerful Soul Master institution associated with the Qian Clan’s Six-winged Angel Martial Soul and its worship of the Angel God. Its Elder Hall holds the organization’s real authority, while the Pope is described as its ruler in name. 261 551

Qian Xunji served as Pope and Bibi Dong’s master. By the time of Du Bai’s marriage to Bibi Dong, Spirit Hall’s elders and senior officials recognized Du Bai as the Holy Son and Bibi Dong as the Holy Maiden. 1 8

After Du Bai’s Martial Soul Second Awakening, Qian Xunji nominated him as first-in-line heir to the papacy. The seven Worshippers and the remaining elders unanimously approved the appointment; twenty-seven elders were present for the vote. 12

Although Du Bai publicly accepted Spirit Hall’s succession arrangement, he and Bibi Dong privately distrusted the Qian Clan’s intentions. They believed that an institution founded around the Angel God’s inheritance would not sincerely relinquish control to successors with different Martial Souls. 261 744

Jade Scale Dog Spirit Bone Set incident

When the fifty-thousand-year Jade Scale Dog Spirit Bone Set was announced, Qian Daoliu convened Spirit Hall’s elders and Worshippers. The organization chose to attend the Heaven Dou Auction House rather than openly seize the set, dispatching Golden Crocodile Douluo, Snake Lance Douluo, and Porcupine Douluo. 216

Spirit Hall simultaneously assembled a Soul Master army to exploit the auction: while major factions sent their strongest members to Heaven Dou City, the army attacked vulnerable headquarters, including the Seven Treasure Glazed Tile Sect and Blue Lightning Tyrant Dragon Sect. 216 217 257

Following the auction and the disappearance of the Spirit Bone Set, Spirit Hall concluded that its rivals had suffered major losses while it had avoided a costly acquisition. It responded by expanding recruitment across the continent. 319

Nine-Headed Fire Qilin conflict

After the Nine-Headed Fire Qilin appeared over Clear Wind Manor, Spirit Hall sent Pope Qian Xunji and six Titled Douluo to Heaven Dou City. 506 517

Spirit Hall’s forces protected Du Bai and Bibi Dong during the Clear Sky Sect’s assassination attempt on Du Bai. They captured the Clear Sky Sect’s Seventh Elder, while Qian Xunji and the Titled Douluo prevented the sect from rescuing him. 525 547 551

The organization later confronted the Heaven Dou Empire, Seven Treasure Glazed Tile Sect, and Blue Lightning Tyrant Dragon Sect over the destruction caused by the Fire Qilin. Qian Xunji denied responsibility, withdrew with seven Titled Douluo, and left Salas to address compensation. 552 554

Du Bai’s succession

Du Bai ultimately defeated Qian Xunji and became Spirit Hall’s Pope. After severely injuring Qian Daoliu when he sought revenge, Du Bai was left in control of the leaderless organization. 764

As Pope, Du Bai delegated daily administration while instituting stricter policies: Spirit Hall was tasked with helping children of common Soul Masters awaken their Martial Souls, increasing low-level Soul Masters’ monthly allowances, and reducing allowances for high-level Soul Masters. 764
