"No!"
"How could there be none?"
The Hyuga Clan had been passed down for a thousand years. Even if some secrets involving the Otsutsuki clan had been destroyed by Hagoromo Otsutsuki, there should still have been records of the Ninja World's thousand-year history, right?
The Ninja Academy did have courses on Ninja World history, but the history of the Warring States period was only briefly mentioned. Most of it described the brutality of ninja warfare during that era and glorified the prosperity of the village era.
The history books did not even mention the battle between the First Hokage and Madara Uchiha, much less introduce the First Hokage's strength.
Ninja confidentiality regulations were simply disrespectful to history.
Hyuga Hiashi looked at Hinata and said blandly, "Since you know about ninja confidentiality regulations, you should also know that some things cannot be casually recorded. Recklessly documenting them would only bring disaster upon the clan."
After thinking it over carefully, Hinata felt that Hyuga Hiashi did have a point.
If someone like Orochimaru, a powerful man who pursued truth, learned that the Hyuga Clan possessed records from a thousand years ago, he would probably have set his sights on the clan long ago.
Hyuga Hiashi continued, "Within our Hyuga Clan, many secrets are passed down by word of mouth. Once you inherit the Hyuga Clan, I will tell you these things."
Hinata nodded helplessly. "All right!"
In truth, having read the Original Story, Hinata was already very familiar with the Ninja World's history. She did not need to consult any records at all.
But Hinata wanted to know some gossip!
For example, things like the wives of Hagoromo Otsutsuki and Hamura Otsutsuki...
Besides, Hinata's big head actually contained a great many secrets of the Ninja World, but she simply did not know how to explain them.
But if the Hyuga Clan had records of them, then the secrets Hinata knew would have an explanation.
Life went on as usual. During this period, Hinata felt much more relaxed than before. At the very least, there was not as much pressure in her heart.
Hinata sometimes found it hard to understand why, in the TV dramas from her previous life, all those rich second-generation kids hated having their families arrange everything for them. They acted as if their lives had lost all freedom.
Hinata could not help thinking of her current life.
From the moment she was born, Hyuga Hiashi had arranged everything for her. From food, clothing, housing, and travel to her studies and training, everything had been planned out. Attending the Ninja Academy had been Hinata's own idea, but even the class she would be assigned to after graduation had been arranged by Hyuga Hiashi.
Even Hinata's future had been planned out. If she could not become Hokage, she would have to return home and inherit a fortune worth tens of billions.
Wasn't that great?
Those people truly did not appreciate the blessings they had!
During the final exams, Naruto once again proved through his actions that there were twenty-seven students in the class.
Seeing Naruto sitting on a swing with a despondent look on his face, Hinata hesitated for a moment before walking over to comfort him. "Naruto, don't be too discouraged. Hmph! If you hadn't scored so low, Iruka would have thought his teaching was just that good!"
The best way to comfort someone was to tear someone else down.
When you saw someone else doing even worse than you, you would feel a little better inside.
Naruto hurriedly got down from the swing and looked behind Hinata nervously. "I-Iruka-sensei!"
Hinata: "..."
Hinata felt as though her neck had gone stiff. She slowly turned her head toward the back and, sure enough, saw Iruka standing there awkwardly.
"Iruka-sensei!"
Hinata took a deep breath and spoke at lightning speed. "My mom told me to go home for dinner. Goodbye, Iruka-sensei!"
That was terrifying!
Would Iruka give her a hard time in class from now on?
After running all the way home, Hinata resumed her nightly routine: eating, training, and sleeping.
Holidays were wonderful. Although the Ninja World's break only lasted a short month, not having to attend school... meant she could sleep in.
After loafing around at home for seven days, Hyuga Hiashi set out with Hinata and a group of Hyuga Clan guards, heading to the Land of Fire Capital to visit several nobles friendly with the Hyuga Clan.
Although it was Hinata's first time leaving Konoha, it was boring to death.
They were either traveling or visiting other people's homes, meeting all kinds of people, listening to their endlessly varied yet never-repeated praise, all while she had to maintain proper etiquette and put on the bearing of a noble young lady.
The outside world might have been vast, but it was not as fun as Konoha.
Especially when visiting these nobles, as the young lady of the Hyuga Clan, Hinata was not even allowed to leave her room except when meeting guests.
Hinata had originally wanted to sneak out and play, but Tokuma Hyuga caught her every time.
A few days before school began, Hinata finally returned to Konoha, and the whole of her seemed to come back to life.
On her first day back in Konoha, Hinata gathered a group of friends and organized a get-together at the BBQ Restaurant.
Those in attendance included Neji, Shikamaru, Choji, Ino, Sakura, Naruto, Kiba Inuzuka, and the others.
Sasuke would not be coming. As for Shino Aburame, one of the Konoha 11 from their year, Hinata remembered the name but had forgotten the person.
That was right!
If Sasuke was not counted, there were exactly eight people. Not a single member of the Konoha 11 was missing!
"Come on, come on! It's my treat today. Eat and drink whatever you want, and don't be polite with me!"
Hinata warmly greeted everyone. Though she could only drink fruit juice, she acted as if she were already drunk, loudly complaining about her miserable experiences over the past while!
"You have no idea how miserable I've been lately. Do you think I left the village to have fun? I'm telling you, it wasn't like that at all... Waaaah! I've had it so hard!"
Hinata kept crying about how miserable she was without saying why. Though the others were burning with curiosity, they could only comfort her gently.
In particular, Ino, Sakura, Naruto, Choji, and Neji were all close to Hinata. Their minds were not especially sharp, and the only one who was reasonably clever, Neji, lost all sense whenever Hinata was involved.
Ino wrapped an arm around the self-pitying Hinata and comforted her softly. "Hinata, don't be too sad. At worst, we'll treat you to some delicious meals. Just think of the food as your miserable experiences, swallow it all into your stomach, and then forget everything."
"Yeah! Yeah!"
"Hinata, don't be sad anymore!"
Hinata looked at everyone with a tearful expression and asked weakly, "Really?"
Ino patted her chest and promised, "Of course it's true! Let's treat this meal as a welcome-back feast for you. Tomorrow, Sakura and I will ask you out to go shopping."
Hinata hugged Ino, first shooting Shikamaru a warning glare before repeatedly saying, "Thank you so much, everyone. You're all so good to me!"
Shikamaru could not help rubbing his forehead. Wasn't this supposed to be your treat? How had it turned into us welcoming you back in the end?
Ino! Please use your brain!
Shikamaru also had to admit that Hinata's adorable, obedient appearance was extremely deceptive. Anyone who saw Hinata would never think she could trick people!
There was not a shred of vigilance worthy of a ninja!
The barbecue meal left Hinata thoroughly satisfied, and the frustration that had built up over more than half a month was finally released.
Konoha people really were better at being fooled!
They were so enthusiastic.
