A Thousand Gold Pieces for a Single Throw
Charlotte was quite envious after experiencing the smart technology of Tony Stark's Villa for a short time.
Tony led Charlotte Doyle directly to the underground Laboratory, while Pakkun watched everything with curiosity.
Upon arriving at the underground Laboratory, Charlotte looked at the messy surroundings and the mechanical legs on the experimental table, wondering how far Tony's Mark II development had progressed.
At that moment, Tony arrived at the virtual control panel and asked, "Charlotte, have you pieced together my discarded Mark I?"
"Tony, I don't have any skilled Mechanic working for me. Your Mark I is still just a pile of parts."
Upon hearing that it was still just a pile of parts, Tony said regretfully, "That's a bit of a shame. That was my first suit of armor; it's very valuable to collectors."
"Of course, you can also give it to me. I can have my Car AI, Jarvis, assemble it and then give it to you to keep as a collectible."
"However, the Energy Core will not be provided to you!"
Upon hearing that Tony was willing to help assemble it, Charlotte immediately said, "Then it's settled. I'll give you the parts in a bit."
"As for the Energy Core, Tony, you don't think I need to go out and duel wearing that thing, do you?!"
Considering Charlotte's strength and the Summoned Beast she possessed, Tony figured that Charlotte didn't need the Mark I.
As Tony operated the controls, a virtual image of the Mark II appeared on the console.
"Charlotte, come and see, this is my latest idea."
"The previous Mark I was manufactured in a very rudimentary environment, with limited equipment, materials, and time, which didn't suit my aesthetic."
"This is exactly the Mark II I imagined!"
Charlotte walked up to it and saw that the virtual image of the Mark II was very similar to the red and gold Iron Man she remembered.
"Not bad, that's more like it! The Mark I was definitely too rugged!"
"Tony, once this is developed, are you going to sell it?"
Upon hearing Charlotte's question about whether it would be sold, Tony immediately replied, "No, I will not sell it. This is my personal property and does not belong to Stark Industries."
Charlotte wasn't surprised to hear Tony say that; he was just curious to see who would prevail when Tony's Mark Series clashed with Scorpion's Puppet!
Sasori should have had more to say to Tony, but unfortunately, he hasn't summoned even Kankuro, who dreams of piloting a Gundam, yet.
"Okay, I also think these things of yours are not suitable for sale. After all, their destructive power is still too great for ordinary people."
"Ordinary people? Charlotte, you mean there are many extraordinary people?"
Hearing Charlotte's words, Tony asked with some curiosity, "Since we've met her, I haven't seen any other extraordinary people besides Charlotte Doyle."
Charlotte nodded, but didn't say much. Instead, she simply replied, "Yes, this world is not simple. I think you will understand all of this in the near future."
"Let's not get sidetracked. How's your Mark II going? What improvements does it offer compared to the Mark I? It's not just a boot, is it?"
As she spoke, Charlotte pointed to the leg armor on the test bench.
Tony smiled and explained, "As you know, technological advancements take time. The Mark II isn't finished yet."
"But once it's built, I can have a contest with you and see who's better!"
"Compared to the Mark I, I improved the propulsion system and the flight stability system, which allows me to achieve solo flight."
Watching Tony talk so eloquently, Charlotte imagined falling from a great height. "By the way," she thought, "My universe isn't Earth-199999, it's just a universe with a similar timeline."
Well, it's not impossible that Tony could fall to his death. After thinking for a moment, Charlotte still spoke up, "Tony, have you thought about the problem of ice formation at high altitudes?"
"Icing at high altitudes?" Tony was also taken aback; he really hadn't thought about this before.
"Yes, high-altitude icing. You could consider adding some Gold-Titanium Alloy when manufacturing the Mark II to prevent the armor from icing."
"Otherwise, imagine this: you're flying high in the sky, and then your armor freezes, causing your equipment to malfunction and short-circuit, resulting in a 10,000-meter fall. The impact would be so great that even on sandy ground like before, you'd probably be turned into a meat pie."
Tony imagined the scene, shuddered, and immediately said, "Thank goodness you reminded me, otherwise I can't even imagine what would have happened."
Charlotte smiled and didn't seem to mind. Having given all the necessary reminders and having a general understanding of Tony's research progress, she said, "Tony, if there's nothing else, I'm about to head back."
Seeing Charlotte about to take her leave, Tony hesitated for a moment before speaking, "Charlotte, I actually have something to ask you about."
"I'd like to ask you for your next commission. How about you hire Pakkun to protect me for a month?"
Tony, however, felt that in another month, he would be able to build the Mark II, and then he would have a means to protect himself.
On the other hand, this month can also be a good time to spend more time with Pakkun and see if there's any possibility of having a Ninja Dog yourself.
Pakkun, standing to the side, was also taken aback. It hadn't expected to be so popular with this guy, who had even specifically commissioned it to protect him.
Back in Konoha, Pakkun had never encountered such an outrageous client.
However, with the Inuzuka Clan in Konoha, there is no shortage of Ninja Dog. If the conditions are good and one has the ability, it is possible to purchase Ninja Dog puppies from the Inuzuka Clan.
At this moment, both Pakkun and Tony Stark looked at Charlotte Doyle.
Meeting the gazes of the man and the dog, Charlotte thought for a moment and then asked Pakkun, "Pakkun, what's your opinion?"
Tony's gaze immediately shifted from Charlotte to Pakkun.
Pakkun lay on the ground, raised his head, and said, "Lord Charlotte, I will obey your orders. I have no objections."
Seeing that Pakkun had no objections, Charlotte said, "OK, Tony, then I'll accept your commission. However, the fee isn't low, after all, a month isn't a short time."
Charlotte, do you think I'm short of money?
"How about a flat price of 10 million US dollars!"
Seeing Tony choose to spend ten million dollars to have Pakkun spend a month with him, Charlotte shrugged. Okay, you're rich, you can do whatever you want!
Charlotte purchased a blank Mission Scroll directly from the System Store, wrote down all the mission details, and handed it to Tony, saying, "Sign, make the payment. For the next month, Pakkun will be responsible for your safety."
Tony didn't waste any time. He took the Mission Scroll, signed his Feudal Lord on it, and instructed Jarvis to transfer ten million US dollars to Charlotte Agency's account.
Charlotte took the Mission Scroll and threw it directly into the Task Gathering Hall.
Quest rating: C-level; Rewards: 500 Prestige, 50,000 copper coins, 1 Normal Treasure Chest!
Tony watched as the scroll appeared out of thin air in Charlotte's hand and then disappeared again, without asking any questions. This wasn't the first time he'd seen this scene.
After submitting the mission, Charlotte Doyle found an open space in the Laboratory and then took out all the parts of the Mark I from the Storage Space.
"Tony, Mark I is in your hands now."
"This is the number one item in my Collection Room, so don't forget about it!"
Tony had already pulled Pakkun into his arms again, and looking at the Mark I parts on the ground, he laughed, "Don't worry, once you've assembled it using Jarvis, we'll have someone deliver it to the Agency for you."
"Item number one, I must say, Charlotte, you have a really good eye."
After exchanging a few brief pleasantries with Tony, Charlotte took her leave.
Although Charlotte didn't get what she wanted from this meeting with Tony, she did get a C-class mission, earned a reward of ten million, and learned about Iron Man's progress. Charlotte felt it was a pretty good gain overall.
